Hey kids. I'm trying to get HDMI mirroring going so as to use my variety of emulators on my TV. Only problem is i can't figure out how to mirror the display with MIUI.
So far, i've tried HDMIwin, no luck. I tried flashing the Tiamat kernel, no luck. Tried Tiamat with HDMIwin, no luck.
The strange part is in each case, the TV would switch from no signal to a black screen as if it were connected to something, but it never displayed a picture.
What am i doing wrong??
Did you update the binary? It prompts you at the beginning when first loading HDMwIn. I am mirroring with no issues using the latest MIUI with Tiamat's latest kernel.

I'm not really sure what you mean! I simply flashed the new kernel Zip and rebooted. Did i miss a step?

Ok.
Try flashing Tiamat's 4.1.0 or 3.3.7, they have been great for me, they all are. Clear Data on HDMwIn and Force Stop the app, or just uninstall and then reinstall from the Market again.
Plug in your cable and then when you first run HDMwIn. It will give you an option to "Update to the latest Binary," if I am not mistaken, you have to accept and then that is it. Press "Start Mirroring" and under "Advance Options" make sure "Route Audio to HDMI" is checked, you know, to make sure you get the audio out of the TV set.
One more thing you can do is clearing Dalvik and Cache before reinstalling HDMwIn.
Hope that helps.
It worked!! You rock!!
As soon as i uninstalled HDMIwin, reinstalled, it fired right up. Thank you so much!

May have spoke too soon. I'm getting some weird results. It seems that HDMI only works after I uninstall, or reinstall HDMIwin. As soon as my phone hits standby, i lose HDMI and i have either add or remove HDMIwin. No clue what the connection is.

Under "Advance Options" make sure to check "Keep Screen On" and also make sure you plug in the charger. You will need it.
Gotcha. But if it's only the screen falling asleep, why is the connection still broken when i wake the phone?

Have not a clue. I have not experienced the same issue. I have been on CM7 and just now MIUI and I have not had a problem. I have been playing a lot of N64 ROMs and Plants v Zombies and have not had that issue. Are you under clocking the CPU?
Nope. No overclocking. Just running the V6 super-charger script.

Every time I make a call, my phone vibrates twice when it connect, and whenever i take it away from my face, and when I disconnect, and sometimes just for fun it seems.
Everyone keeps asking why they hear a duck when I'm talking to them.
it has nothing to do with notifications, and I don't see any settings in the phone settings that have worked, or look like there is any chance of them working.
PLEASE tell me there is a way to make this stop. I don't want to go back to Sense, but I can't take this annoyance any more.
Only thing I can think of is to go into settings>call settings> and uncheck

I had the same issues earlier on in the nightlies. I never could get it to go away until I just did a full wipe and fresh install of the rom.
I guess that's in the cards for me then, since none of the vibrate settings anywhere have any affect on this.
I guess I was/am due for a full wipe, so I'll give that a shot
thanks all

I would suggest the vr superwipe. Its in the dev section. It wipe everything 3 times and you just flash it like a rom or theme.

Hello, I've got a weird error that I don't even know how to begin tracking down. Not sure if this is an ICS issue, an app issue, or a device (hardware) issue.
Several times now, I get a problem were, after a reboot, all the text on my home screen - names for apps and text within widgets is mangled somehow. Like pixels inverted, or boxed over, etc. (see screenshot)

The first couple of times this happened, a single reboot made it go away. However with my latest occurrence, I've rebooted several times without a fix.
EDIT: It seems like my data connection may also require examination? Since on the 3rd or 4th reboot I was in my office with a solid WiFi connection (versus previous reboots I was in my car en-route), the problem has now gone away again.
My initial reboot this morning was as a quick-fix attempt at an absent data connection. Guess I'm off to research these "radios" everyone keeps on about...
EDIT 2: Ok, perhaps ignore the above. After a reboot made this go away, it has now come back spontaneously (i.e. just noticed it sitting in the cradle with the error again - no reboot this time.) CRUUUUD.
Are you using a custom Kernel? Some 'Overclock' the GPU to 512MHz, while Stock is 384MHz. Some devices can't handle the increase and cause screen artifacts. Post your Kernel details and I'm sure someone will point you in the direction of another Kernel if this is the case.
Not that I know of - should be all stock, since I haven't rooted or unlocked anything yet (just got the phone a couple of weeks ago).
Thanks for the help.
Stock launcher? Or using nova/apex etc?

Hi,
Another thread...:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646985
Nothing related to GPU overclock...just about this possibility...
Looking in different threads in Q&A/General.
If you are using the stock launcher...I think I saw a topic with this weird issue with the stock launcher...but I can not find it anymore
In any case clear data/cache of your current launcher, reboot and see...If you're on another launcher than stock,reinstall...
I speak only for the launcher issue.
Yep, stock launcher. Thanks for the other thread.
Seems to be at bay now. Will keep an eye on it.
REQUIRES ROOT.
I figured this deserves its own thread in here.
I had Chainfire3D purchased for my old myTouch 4G/HTC Glacier. I installed it on this device but was a bit worried about it doing some damage, so I made sure to do a nandroid backup before I even went with this experiment.
First thing you have to do is have C3D install its drivers which comes with a dire warning about it causing your phone not to boot. The installation will reboot your machine automatically.
The reboot took a few moments longer than usual, but it booted fine, and has since rebooted as normal since.
I tried Asphalt 6, which I also purchased some time ago for my Transformer tablet, and no dice. I went into C3D and installed the Nvidia emu that's attached below, and set it on a per-app basis against Asphalt 6, and voila! Runs perfect with no issues. Also, since our phones res is high, it looks even better than ever did on the Glacier.
Secondly, I used the market fix within C3D, and I can now view content not normally seen with our devices, as you can see below:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
^ Runs and plays fine as well.
I had both emulator files attached, which you install by placing them in the internal SD. I used the "install plugin" option within C3D, and it scanned the SD card automatically for these files.
Fair warning: again, I did a nandroid backup on my machine prior to this. I also took a risk with the plugins, since they were designed for my Glacier's single-core Qualcomm. The risk paid off for me, but I won't take responsibility for anyone else's machine.
I am running stock rooted with the Adama003 kernel.
Sweet! Works great for me. I have a bunch of Tegra games from when I had my Droid X2.

Sorry to hear that. Was this ever resolved?
Thank you for testing and posting this ...
I loved Chainfire3D, if only for Nightmode and CF Lumen, since I don't play games on my phone ...
On my Droid X2, I had to disable screen animations or Chainfire would obliterate the screen/notification bar when rotating from portrait to landscape view. Is this still the case?

Everything is working great, but what is the powervr plugin?
I know this seems miniscule, but I was just curious if it was me not knowing how to use the app or if it's the app itself. I won't show anything other than what's on the screen shot below. And the menu doesn't give me any options. Is there something I'm missing?

I tried to use randomizer, but is gives the same thing. Eyes, arms and that's it.
Edit: I've also tried uninstalling, and reinstall but that didn't help either. Too bad Google don't have an email for help like everyone else. Maybe it'll help to say that I'm rooted, running AOKP's JB build. Maybe not

I saw this problem also. It happened with me on my Galaxy S3 and on my Tablet (galaxy note 10.1).
I think the app load the resources from the web and it's unavaible for some reason.
Hope they fix it soon.
Go to developer setting and enable GPU Rendering.

I've had this before. Disable GPU rendering. This is one of those apps that has a problem with being rendered by the GPU.

Disabling GPU rendering works.
Had the same problem. Then I disabled GPU rendering in developer options and it worked fine...
aright guys, just wanted to ask a question as my gf is having a few weird issues with her a5 and i wanted to know if its an issue before i start to flash firmware to it. her phone doesn't accept my dash charger(or my 2.5amp dock) when she tries to use it. when she plugs the phone into her car charger it pops up with this image

is this just a screen saver ? or what a bug ? i believe she's running the latest ota but I've not really not looked to deeply looked into the issue.
I'm pretty certain that is a software/firmware issue as she says its effected her after she installed the latest ota.
any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah I turned of the screensaver and flashed the bl and cp from A520FXXU2BQK1 and she's still getting the error of slow charging when she's using her official charger and it not giving her a 2.5amp charge and it won't detect my dash charger. It's really annoying as she's relying on charging her phone on her laptop to get a fast charge.
latest BL/CP files A520F
flash the BL/CP files linked below in odin to solve the issue of getting the "slow charge, please connect official charger" message when using the official charger. still doesn't let me use my dash charger but its a step in the right direction. ill flash every update that comes out weekly to see if it solves the dash charger issue.
