aright guys, just wanted to ask a question as my gf is having a few weird issues with her a5 and i wanted to know if its an issue before i start to flash firmware to it. her phone doesn't accept my dash charger(or my 2.5amp dock) when she tries to use it. when she plugs the phone into her car charger it pops up with this image

is this just a screen saver ? or what a bug ? i believe she's running the latest ota but I've not really not looked to deeply looked into the issue.
I'm pretty certain that is a software/firmware issue as she says its effected her after she installed the latest ota.
any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah I turned of the screensaver and flashed the bl and cp from A520FXXU2BQK1 and she's still getting the error of slow charging when she's using her official charger and it not giving her a 2.5amp charge and it won't detect my dash charger. It's really annoying as she's relying on charging her phone on her laptop to get a fast charge.
latest BL/CP files A520F
flash the BL/CP files linked below in odin to solve the issue of getting the "slow charge, please connect official charger" message when using the official charger. still doesn't let me use my dash charger but its a step in the right direction. ill flash every update that comes out weekly to see if it solves the dash charger issue.

I'm hoping someone can help please. I put Leedroid 2.4 on my phone and it's been flawless for a couple of days, apart from this morning it looks at if it randomly rebooted.
I haven't switched it off since sometime yesterday but System Monitor shows a boot time of 4:13 this morning. I was asleep and the phone was on the side unplugged.

Also my battery history goes a bit funny just after this time and the useage went up loads from it's usual 1 or 2ma when sleeping.
and voltage - the big drop at the end is when my alarm went off and I started using the phone
I've no idea how I'd start to find out what caused it to do it, can anyone help please? It obviously didn't do a full reboot as it didn't ask for my PIN unlock code this morning.
Cheers
It's done it again this morning at 3:30. Useage at -1ma for ages then after this time up to between -22 and -25.
Any ideas?
I've checked through everything in "SystemPanel" and nothing seems to be using the processor at any time.
Hi,
Sorry I could not help you out about your issue but will be happy if you can tell me the apps you use for monitoring your phone? Is it all from the "System Monitor" app you mention?
The top pic is SystemPanel which I think cost me a pound or two a while ago and the bottom is Battery Monitor Widget, which is free.

Thanks a lot. I hope your issue will be solved! Or maybe perform a full wipe and see if the problem persists?

Cheers, me too. It's not a major issue but it's one that could catch me out if it does it when my battery is low.
Hello, I've got a weird error that I don't even know how to begin tracking down. Not sure if this is an ICS issue, an app issue, or a device (hardware) issue.
Several times now, I get a problem were, after a reboot, all the text on my home screen - names for apps and text within widgets is mangled somehow. Like pixels inverted, or boxed over, etc. (see screenshot)

The first couple of times this happened, a single reboot made it go away. However with my latest occurrence, I've rebooted several times without a fix.
EDIT: It seems like my data connection may also require examination? Since on the 3rd or 4th reboot I was in my office with a solid WiFi connection (versus previous reboots I was in my car en-route), the problem has now gone away again.
My initial reboot this morning was as a quick-fix attempt at an absent data connection. Guess I'm off to research these "radios" everyone keeps on about...
EDIT 2: Ok, perhaps ignore the above. After a reboot made this go away, it has now come back spontaneously (i.e. just noticed it sitting in the cradle with the error again - no reboot this time.) CRUUUUD.
Are you using a custom Kernel? Some 'Overclock' the GPU to 512MHz, while Stock is 384MHz. Some devices can't handle the increase and cause screen artifacts. Post your Kernel details and I'm sure someone will point you in the direction of another Kernel if this is the case.
Not that I know of - should be all stock, since I haven't rooted or unlocked anything yet (just got the phone a couple of weeks ago).
Thanks for the help.
Stock launcher? Or using nova/apex etc?

Hi,
Another thread...:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646985
Nothing related to GPU overclock...just about this possibility...
Looking in different threads in Q&A/General.
If you are using the stock launcher...I think I saw a topic with this weird issue with the stock launcher...but I can not find it anymore
In any case clear data/cache of your current launcher, reboot and see...If you're on another launcher than stock,reinstall...
I speak only for the launcher issue.
Yep, stock launcher. Thanks for the other thread.
Seems to be at bay now. Will keep an eye on it.
Hey just thought I'd post this here and see if anyone else is having similar problems. I updated to the latest firmware a few weeks ago and ever since then my phone is dead after only 6ish hours with pretty average use in between. My battery stats are pointing towards the Google plus app as being the culprit so I force close it but it obviously keeps restarting.
Before the update I was able to go over a day before it would go completely flat.
Here's a screen grab of my battery stats, anyone have any ideas on what I can do to sort this out?

Oh and I forgot to mention, the phone is completely stock unrooted, locked boot loader etc.
Cheers.
Maybe try and uninstall updates to Google+ and reinstall. I had a problem after updating to 4.2.1 where Google+ kept syncing and it was solved this way.
Edit: Forgot to mention, my phone is stock with unlocked bootloader.
Cheers, I'll give that a go and see how it works out.
I just took my phone off the charger not long ago. Will post another screenshot when it's been on battery for a while, should give you a better idea of reasonable ratios.
Worst comes to worst, wipe everything (including SD) and start over. You could have some spooky ghost files and some cobwebs all up in your GNex!
My 4.2 Experience
i have been trying several 4.2 roms and with all of them i was getting the worst battery and also a very strange bug or at least i think it was a bug :silly: since i was using my phone normally and then all of the sudden the screen goes black but the phone still funtional it wasnt a SOD for example i was playing a game and then boom black and the sound vibration and everything all was keep on working i the end i decided to go back to CNA
Took another screenshot. I haven't used my phone so much today, but what you're seeing, OP, is definitely not normal.
I uninstalled Extended Controls. Battery stats for the app was ridiculous if the system app showed correctly. If I'm lucky I'll notice improved battery life now
my GSIII is running Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and Since I've had the phone when I'm taking pictures/video it randomly shuts off and restarts, sometimes it just totally freezes and I have to do a battery pull. yet when my phone is plugged in and charging it never shuts off with pictures/videos. any ideas? I attached a pic of the battery I'm using (I have 3 of these) and they all do this.

If I had the problem you are having what I would do is to download and Odin flash the stock T999 4.1.1 rom.
Perhaps something in your phone got corrupted and by flashing the stock rom it should fix your problem.
After flashing the stock rom don't install any apps at all until you are sure that the problem is fixed.
If it does not fix the battery problem, then there is something wrong with the phone itself and needs to be
exchanged if its under warranty or repaired if its not under warranty.
Good luck.
When I flashed the 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. that fixed the camera. no more shut downs. thanks!! I truly never would have thought of it. Wish I had asked sooner I've lost a lot of photos/video because of it. Thanks again though.
If you ever have any random errors or glitches reflashing your rom will be your best bet. Personally I've had those types of glitches as well sometimes something was corrupted and other times it was because of an unstable rom I flashed.

Starting last week, my phone would have this strange issue where it would suddenly restart and be at a low battery life. At first I thought it was the rom (Euphoria) so I decided to switch to cloudyg3 to check. Its still happening on this rom too, so I downloaded battery calibration to see if that would fix it and im still having the same issue. Could my battery be causing this? That seems like a really strange thing for a battery alone to do....

Calibrate the battery. I know you attempted this, but you shouldn't restart your phone during calibration. Charge to 100% and use that module to delete the old stats. Use the phone and leave it on until it turns off from no power. There is another module that can turn off the auto-shutoff. Use this (doesn't work on some ROMs) to ensure that you drain it to 0%.
