LOS notification - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I thought I had seen an app to do this but I can't seem to find it so hopefully somebody can correct me for being wrong. Or point me in the direction I can't seem to find this morning. I thought somebody had written an app that would notifiy you when you had an LOS so you would know to reboot your phone. Am I wrong in this?

Here you go ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301880&highlight=tasker

Signal Alert is free in the market and will notify you when you connect and disconnect from the network. It will also keep a log of connection events and you can set it to ring or vibrate and flash the notification light. It's worked well for me so far but I uninstalled because I never have LOS.

I don't think there is a fix bud, I haven't seen it atleast. The wifi calling has been pretty unstable lately from what i have been seeing. I also get that error code once and a while but usually fixes itself. Its been happening alot more in the last few days.
Got the same error this morning out of nowhere. Could be tmos side

You need to restore wifi calling settings via titanium backup. If u don't have, download a stock rom ands pull the apk from there

Copy the three files and put them in your titanium backup folder. Then restore the app

I was getting error ER05 and REG99 earlier today. I was able to get it working by disabling wifi calling (i had to wait a few seconds while it was trying to enable and was finally able to uncheck the box). Next i disabled wireless networking, then shutdown the phone pulled the battery out. Once the phone was off, I did reset my router, but I'm not sure whether the router is a factor. Once the router was back up i put the phone back together and turned on wireless, then enabled wifi calling. Worked with no errors. Before it started working, I did chat online with "support" and they said there were no outages in my area and that i should call tech support. My router is a Linksys WRT54GL

Go to settings and the date and time and uncheck the automatic time zone and date then set them to where they need to be then recheck the auto boxes should be fine after that
Already try it and didn't work out.

I got it working now Thank you very much!
After you got it working, did you reboot and is it still fixed? Because im having a similar problem BUT i think its Root Call Blocker that messes it up after every reboot.
I have the same problem

After reboot I have to do it all over again.
No matter what is done, time zones keep getting screwed on reboot. I think the problem is that the checkbox "get timezone from blah" is not getting stored in the database (or wherever it should be stored), just the session.
I'll look into this, and report back. No promises...
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
Thanks. Maybe we shouldn't reboot !
The value in the db is okay. Something is modifying this on boot. If you watch closely, the phone boots and time is okay. And then the timezone reverts to zero and so does the time.
I'll keep investigating... Happy Father's Day.

HELP!
Hi there,
I am from PR experiencing the same issue with timezone since upgrade to ICS 4.0.3.
Where can I obtain the Titanium Backup?
What apps do I have to kill in order to avoid modifying the time\date after restart?
I am really happy to see your post with a resolution to this lame issue.

Hi, I have somewhat a similar issue as everyone else on this thread. If I use the Automatic TimeZone, it resets the Time Zone to +00:00. I have tried what ejcortes says, but I still get the same issue. All this started once ICS was updated at the store. Any clues?
I had the same issue since the update of ICS. Tmobile have a new update for ICS and that fix it. Check out the support site in Tmobile site for the update.

Ring tone lag

When my text messages reach cap my ring tone starts to lag and not play fully. Also my screen flickers sometimes. I'm sorry if this has been posted already but I can not find it. I assume most people on here don't reach text cap. We are most likely nerds right?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Nerds indeed ha. But I have not had an issue with any sort of ring lag. I just use the beep for messages though.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I have seen this asked once maybe around 2 weeks ago if I'm remembering right. But I don't remember if they found a solution or not. If I can find it ill let you know.
When you say they reach cap what do you mean exactly? Do you mean the point where it starts auto deleting when you reach the set number of stored messages?
If you delete some/many/all of your texts does it work right again? If you do have auto delete set , does it still happen if you turn that off?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Yeah when they start auto deleting, I have it set at 200. And yes it does stop when I delete the thread but I don't want to have to do that. It does stop if I turn off auto delete but when I did that my text app was super slow opening because it got to full.

Ok. Well at least now we can be fairly sure we know what causes it. I know its not what you are going to want to do but you could either turn off the auto delete option, manually assign a much shorter tone to any contacts that get this high, or try this.... set the limit to something like 500, then when you reach that point set it back down to 200 and see if it deletes everything back down to that point. Then set back to 500 until it happens again. Or try turning it off and when you feel its time to clean house turn it back on, let it delete everything back to 200, and turn it off again. I don't know if it'll even work this way but may be worth a try.
I know these are just workarounds, but they may be easier to deal with than messed up notification tones at least until a fix of some sort is found.
Another possibility is using a 3rd party app, but I couldn't tell you which to go with there.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I'm going to try that 500 to 200 thing because I know I would forget to delete them. Thanks for the help.

Very cool! So when you get to 500 and set it back to 200, it does delete the 300 oldest msgs? Then you set it back to 500 till next time right?
I know that's pretty much what I said earlier. Just making sure it worked how I thought it would.
Anyway, I'm glad it did!
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Yeah it did, well I think. There is no way to count them as far as I know. It does work now though, the ringtone that is. To be honest I don't like that u gave to do this.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I don't blame you. Like I said, its just a work around, not a fix. Maybe another build would be better?
Actually I just thought of something else. A lot of audio issues have been solved by removing MusicFX.apk and .odex from /system/app. If you're rooted you could try that as well. If it fixes it flash DSP Manager to replace it. I have a copy if you need it. Just let me know

I'm not rooted but I can root. I won't have time to do this until tomorrow at about 7 pst so ill try it then.

Dates in the 70's

Is it just me? After rooting and cwming my phone my system default time is always in the 1970's so it messes up the cwm back ups and things. If you have your phone on airplane mode and reboot it won't grab the time from the network so that how you can check. I only noticed it when I brought in cwm. I've tried different versions of cwm never gotten it fixed though. Oh I'm always aosp, Rom/kernel makes no difference
Can anybody confirm this? Or share any fixes?

Hey look, for a while now I have been using the script and app here.
It's called oNandroid.
- perform backups without rebooting.
- manage stored backups and the dates are correct.
- If you ever need to restore, reboot to CWM.
- It's super convenient and works perfect for me.
Problem solved...and a bag of chips!
(lots of options. Can be used with the GUI or with any script app)
Enjoy
I read something koush posted in Google+ a while back. It has to do with the way the chip set is programmed it doesn't communicate the way it's supposed to to update the date stored on the chip. I guess if you turn on airplane mode and then reboot it will default to the same date. If you pay attention every time you boot the phone it polls the server for date and time.

I figured it was something funky more or less hardware related. Are you saying there's not much hope it can be easily updated?
I can totally live with it, it's really not a big deal.
Besides sometimes it's fun to send people text messages with a 1970's date stamped on it.

Numbers showing incorrectly when call comes in

I am so glad someone else is having this issue I've spent most of the day trying to resolve it. Ok, what I know so far:
It only happens on WIFI calling. I've cleared the wifi calling app no dice.
Customer service is unaware of the issue. They said use a different email account. UH NO I've had my gmail since it was in Beta.
I've reset my device twice it comes back after I re-install gmail I think it comes with the restore function I've tried stopping the restore function but it keeps coming back
Let me know if you fix it. I had a note two there may be a correlation
Same thing happens to me but only during wifi calling. No big

I have a thread on Google + it is somehow tied to wifi calling and to Google contacts sync. Anyway you have to clear the cache partition. Hold down volume up, home and power keys until you see Samsung note 3 then release just power until you are in recovery then chose volume down to clear cache and power button to select then restart you may have to factory reset the device
It seems fixed on my phone but a friend is still having trouble
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
Yeah that didn't work for me. I want to try re flashing instead of resorting but it just so happens that Kies doesn't support the note 3 yet.
