how to get camera working again? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so I'm going on a trip for a week on Wednesday and wanted to know if anyone could tell me how to get my camera back in working order. I'm on fxp42 kernel/25 rom (I think at least)
would I simply have to flash the stock kernel/rom in the state of dev thread? Is there a better build I could use instead of this?

[Q] Selling my phone running Deck's 1.3 AOSP...flash back to stock??

This might be a dumb question, but should I flash back to a stock rom so a potential new owner can have the phone programmed at Sprint without any hassle, or should I just leave it and let them deal with it?
Would you be able to change phone per the buyers request? If they are not into rooting they would probably what stock, but if I was interested would want rooted.
I posted this before asking them if the wanted me to flash back to stock or leave it, and the response I got was "Not sure what that means". So back to stock it goes!

once rooted, you can never go back?

Once you root a phone, is possible to go back to a fully stock rom?
backstory:
not long after the s3 was released, i rooted it.
a month or so later, i went back to a stock rom.
what i noticed, my phone never seemed to update to the latest releases.
doing it wrong?
You can Odin back to 100% stock unrooted if you really want. The download link is in the Android Development thread. It has the latest update available both rooted and not. Fact is, there's not much reason to give up root for an OTA as a stock release will be available here within a day or two - sometimes hours. And if you're worried about your carrier if you had to turn the phone in, they really don't care. Just get rid of the custom ROM if you can.

Why would you want to is a better question?
Aside from returning for warranty, I see no reason to ever unroot!

Tried one of the custom ROMs on here, no real issues.
Tried CM10 and it was a total cluster-fok.
Only reason I liked being rooted was tethering and adblocker.

Can't activate SPHL-520 with custom rom

I'm looking for all the help I can get.
I have a Sprint GS4 mini and I got this for my girl. all my phones I've always picked it up directly at sprint so it was always activated so I wasn't away that I would have problems activating her phone that I bought online.
Trying to be proactive so once I gave her the phone nothing would need to be done. I rooted it and installed a custom rom so I could have the bloatware and everything setup nicely for her.
I found out they can't activate it because of the custom rom and it didn't have the sprint PRL. I know the easy answer would be to flash stock, but the 1 stock file that's floating around online does not work, it crashes in ODIN.
I have the Dev of the ROM working with me but i'm hoping to help him and me by putting this out to everyone to see if anyone has any thoughts or a good stock firmware.
Also is it possible for anyone running SPHL-520 to upload a nandroid w/o Data so I can try to restore. I'm lost on what I can do now.
Thanks guys.

Need help updating (near) stock T999L to 4.3 for my father

About a year and a half ago, I gave my father my T999L after I upgraded the phone. Since then it appears a 4.3 update has been released and in order to use his Galaxy Gear watch that he wanted for his birthday, he needs to upgrade. He wants to stick with a stock (or stock based) ROM and I need to get it taken care of for him today. When I had the phone, I was running Dandroid. Because I rooted, installed custom recovery, etc. it reads as modified software and will not receive the OTA even though I flashed returned it to stock before I gave it to him.
Any help would be great - apparently the 4.1.2 bootloader won't work with the 4.3 ROMs? Anyone have a link to something I can just use ODIN to flash and get it all done in one step? I assume the link here can do it? Hopefully...

Thanks in advance.
EDIT : Never mind, we're good. I got it figured out

Kernel issue?! can someone please help?

i cannot for the life of me get past this!! bought a replacement vzw htc1 that came with 4.4.2. rooted it, flashed a 4.4.4(?) rom...now the sound does NOT work during calls? works fine otherwise tho. reading i found out its likely because i didnt update to 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 before i flashed? so im assuming its a kernel compatibility issue? i did find a rom that the sound KINDA works..but it isnt right and i hate the rom, the rom is a 4.4.2 ..old rom. so i AM rooted, unlocked and s-off i believe, how can i fix this?? flash a new kernel..which one? fastboot back to stock and go thru the updates? if so, how? i find nothing but CONFUSING tutorials (and im NOT really new to this). ideally id like sense 5.5 4.4.3 so i dont have to drop $25 just to root it? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone point me in the right direction

You just need to update your firmware.
Find my stock rooted Rom thread and flash the latest firmware in post#2.
