Flashed the radios. Seemed to help. But, I has to have the worst connection on the planet, so anything would have helped.

Download the zip, backup your current rom in recovery. Then wipe cache and dalvik cache, flash the zip file.
I did it all with no problem just don't flash the kernel

Can these be flashed with Recovery 3.0 or should we downgrade to 2.5?
Flashed on CM7 N87 and all is good!
Updated Kernel
Tiamat 4.0.4, CM7 nightly, RA 2.3
Confirmed all is working after flashing the radio update. Though still 1x in my office building due to interference from the verizon/att tower in the back if the property. Sprint refuses to attach to it, lol
I may stand corrected here, but in order to get the full benefit of the new radios you should update your profile and prl. Yeah, it probably isn't needed necessarily considering the pain if your on an AOSP rom, but a good idea because with the profile update it helps the network recognize that you have the update.

I'm getting a major boost in data connectivity after the radio update. Spots where I'd get no WIMAX before I'm getting decent service.

didnt even think of doing that, I will try that, thanks..
I just finished resetting my data settings and updated my prl and profile. Thing is, I now have prl 60680 and its killing my battery. Does anyone know of a way to downgrade the prl. 60679 was perfect for me.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
PRL does not kill your battery. All it is, is the updated info on the towers in your area. I really don't think it's much more than a database.
Check to see if your uptime and awake are the same. If they are, you have a wakelock issue and as HipKat stated, it is NOT because of the PRL.

I'm on aosp but its showing my device sleeps good. I guess I should try messing with different radio combos.

You can try downgrading only the PRI and see if that helps.

I was gonna suggest that. Seems like that, the 2.15 radio and the 1.90 PRI are the best combo of radios for the wakelock issue.
There's a whole thread about it in the dev section

I like the hardware but this loss of service thing is annoying.
Has anyone determined if this is a software issue? Sprints network isnt great but my evo 3d fares much better.
Ive read around on the internet and I THOUGHT I read a post that mentioned a user reverting to EG30 which solved his/her problem. Only thing that isnt positive is whether the user reverted to software EG30 or baseband EG30.
Any insight into this issue, how to revert to an earlier software version? Ive tried various radios but not software. I appreciate your time.
I'm having same problem....my evo 3d had no problem with Los but my e4gt is terrible where I live.....I was told to try different modems but I tried FCO7 AND FC14 still the same.

Hmm, what do you mean by "loss of service"?
This is a term used specifically to describe losing service while the phone says it has service...

Ok, maybe that is incorrect.
Just using it, for example sending a tweet or an email, one may send immediately. Then if I choose to refresh or send a second tweet/email right after, the transmission arrows dont light up for a while. Its like the radio is going to sleep way too fast and it takes even longer to wake up and complete the transaction. Enabling/disabling fast dormancy doesnt seem to make a difference.
Edit: under these conditions, I never get the "no signal" icon. Just seems the radio is sleepy
Well I asked around because my signal sucks but I called sprint and they said my area has really good service.....but people told me to try FCO4 and FC14 and FCO7 that might help so I did......nothing helped.
I just looked it says I'm using el29 on my kernal and FCO7 under baseband.......not sure if that helps, ill try to find out more and if it helps ill let you know

If not then manually install a different PRL, so you can connect to closer towers in your area, and don't forget to update profile and prl in settings>about phone> system updates

Hi, I've been a 10 year TMobile user. I just switched to sprint this week. I'm not a newbie when it comes to flashing roms, but I'm wondering what differences I need to anticipate by using a CDMA phone over a GSM before I start flashing something and brick my phone. Any input would be appreciated.

*facepalm* Seriously people read before you dole out your half witted 2cents
All of my experience is flashing on CDMA, but to my understanding flashing a GN2 on CDMA is exactly the same as GSM. Make sure you only flash the sprint variant ROMS, but other than that you don't have to take any precautions.
BUT you dont get to have data while talking on the phone anymore. Unless there is that sweet workaround with LTE. I'm in a 4g free zone so can't confirm or deny this.
Do I need to reactivate my phone after each flash or is it similar to with a sim card and just flash and go?

I think he worded it correctly. He was coming from a GSM and knew Sprint is CDMA and wanted to know if there was any difference between the two as far as ROMs go.

You would use activation like changing a sim card - triggers the phone to go out and grab its new phone number, GPRS logins, etc.
"Update profile and PRL" are what you should be doing on flashes, expecially if you flash a new modem.

I flashed a new modem last night, didn't update profile or PRL. Works fine.
Changing ROMs is as simple as changing sim cards. If your phone was activated before, a new ROM isn't going to change that. This includes AOSP ROMs, when they arrive.
Thanks for the replies. Now I just have to get over the differences of HTC and Samsung. Didn't have anything like Odin or whatnot for HTC, but did have weird bootloader issues. Thanks again.

Yeah, it will work fine. Modem rom contains the PRL, or at least it did on the e4gt. Flashing a new modem may leave you with an older PRL.

Ok. Maybe I didn't make my point clearly. I was talking about best practices over time.
For example, the modern you flashed has PRL56009 which is the newest ATM. Great.
In a year, if you flash this modem again, you'll be back on 56009. Even if the new PRL is 56123.
Make sense?
My general rules:
When flashing roms, only update prl and profile if you notice a loss of data speed or connectivity issues.
When flashing modems, update the prl and profile.
Samsung modems were new to me when transitioning from HTC. Common thought is the performance of different modem versions is dependent on location and/or individual phones. You will flash roms and modems independently.

My point was I had manually flashed the corporate prl previously, which I don't think was included in the modem. 55009 is the current standard prl.
I'm not trying to argue with you. I don't claim to understand how modems and prls work. Just sharing my experience.

I have had an Epic Touch flashed on Boost for a long time now ($35 shrinkage), works great. Noticed some spotty signals lately and want to know the latest prl I should be using. I will manually update it as it won't auto update. Use a Sprint or Boost prl? Corp or not?

When you update prl and profile it will automatically update the boost prl. You should be fine using the latest boost prl.
