I have had an Epic Touch flashed on Boost for a long time now ($35 shrinkage), works great. Noticed some spotty signals lately and want to know the latest prl I should be using. I will manually update it as it won't auto update. Use a Sprint or Boost prl? Corp or not?

When you update prl and profile it will automatically update the boost prl. You should be fine using the latest boost prl.
Edit: latest sprint prl is 61090

I just finished resetting my data settings and updated my prl and profile. Thing is, I now have prl 60680 and its killing my battery. Does anyone know of a way to downgrade the prl. 60679 was perfect for me.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
PRL does not kill your battery. All it is, is the updated info on the towers in your area. I really don't think it's much more than a database.
Check to see if your uptime and awake are the same. If they are, you have a wakelock issue and as HipKat stated, it is NOT because of the PRL.

I'm on aosp but its showing my device sleeps good. I guess I should try messing with different radio combos.

You can try downgrading only the PRI and see if that helps.

It was my nv. I had to downgrade it to 1.77 003. Thanks for the suggestions. Mod please close or delete.

I was gonna suggest that. Seems like that, the 2.15 radio and the 1.90 PRI are the best combo of radios for the wakelock issue.
There's a whole thread about it in the dev section

I just came from the HTC HD2, and there were many radio updates to flash to the phone. Are there updated radios for the Epic 4G? I'm having network and cellular network connectivity issues, so an update makes sense here...
Not yet. Try going to settings /about phone/ updates and update Profile and PRL

Yeah I've done all that. Still have the issues. Sprint says it's an issue with the phone, but I find that hard to believe.
I like the hardware but this loss of service thing is annoying.
Has anyone determined if this is a software issue? Sprints network isnt great but my evo 3d fares much better.
Ive read around on the internet and I THOUGHT I read a post that mentioned a user reverting to EG30 which solved his/her problem. Only thing that isnt positive is whether the user reverted to software EG30 or baseband EG30.
Any insight into this issue, how to revert to an earlier software version? Ive tried various radios but not software. I appreciate your time.
I'm having same problem....my evo 3d had no problem with Los but my e4gt is terrible where I live.....I was told to try different modems but I tried FCO7 AND FC14 still the same.

I'm using eg30 at the moment...it's not horrible. I'm on the stock el29 software.
You flashed the FCxx radios? Which software are you on? Thanks.

Yes I have. That's what the phone came with. Used el13 and el26 too. This is my first run with eg30

Hmm, what do you mean by "loss of service"?
This is a term used specifically to describe losing service while the phone says it has service...

Ok, maybe that is incorrect.
Just using it, for example sending a tweet or an email, one may send immediately. Then if I choose to refresh or send a second tweet/email right after, the transmission arrows dont light up for a while. Its like the radio is going to sleep way too fast and it takes even longer to wake up and complete the transaction. Enabling/disabling fast dormancy doesnt seem to make a difference.
Edit: under these conditions, I never get the "no signal" icon. Just seems the radio is sleepy
Well I asked around because my signal sucks but I called sprint and they said my area has really good service.....but people told me to try FCO4 and FC14 and FCO7 that might help so I did......nothing helped.
I just looked it says I'm using el29 on my kernal and FCO7 under baseband.......not sure if that helps, ill try to find out more and if it helps ill let you know

I've been using eg30 all night and so far, knock on wood, its been working pretty well.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
You just downloaded the eg30.zip then flashed it?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
If not then manually install a different PRL, so you can connect to closer towers in your area, and don't forget to update profile and prl in settings>about phone> system updates

The only prl that I think would help is the corporate 11115 prl.
Any other suggestions?

Keep trying different modems man, I used to get some ****ty service with EL29 on this phone but on FC18 I get some crazy speeds, with very little reception.

Los on this phone is when you have a circle with line thru it the only thing that fixed that was reboot sometimes toggle airplane mode but they fixed that long ago . Now some ics had similar problems but had a lot to do with your signal strength...

I'm running that setup, and just updated my profile & prl just fine. Keep trying, sometimes it takes several tries to get it.
Oh, and welcome to XDA. You must lurk hardcore, because usually we don't have a "1 poster" pop in with a coherent question about a custom rom & kernel

I'm on the FF18 modem still. FF31 is Boost, right? Maybe that has something to do with it. FF18 is Sprint.

Will it ever be possible on our phones to update the prl and profile while inside cm10?
I know how to now and boot touchwiz from the SD card to update. Just wondering if it could potentially work on our device.

Great question... I'd also love to be able to update the PRL inside CM...I'm not quite sure why it can't technically be done...

I know that's how the galaxy nexus works with vanilla android. But of course that's a totally different phone. Just wonder what's required to make it work.
