Freezing while playing games.

Been running cm7.0.3 for a while and have been using the kernal that came with the rom, and it seems any game I play after a few minutes the game ends up freezing. Tried different governer modes and Max clock speed and stock clock speed, with no difference. Any suggestions? I'm assuming its my kernal....

I'm not sure if the stock CM kernel is overclockable (very well may be) but I have had really good results with either Chad's incredikernel or invisiblek. Never ran into any issues playing games, even CPU intensive ones.

Those are the ones from nightly right? And its been forever since I've flashed a kernal, do I wipe dalvik and that's it?

The nightlies still have the stock CM kernel. Those other kernels are in the development forum. And yes, you just flash the kernel in recovery like a rom. A cache/dalvik cache wipe is all that's necessary.

Reverting to latest CM7 Nightly

Currently I'm running KA12 Ice Cream Sony rom and I'm going to go back to CM7 due to random reboots and freezes.
I'm using Doomkernel Advanced Stock kernel
Will I need to change kernel for CM7 or will my current kernel suffice?

You will have to flash the kernel from CM7. Or another kernel that is compatible, but an ICS kernel won't work.

Sorry a little off topic here, but are there any game compatibility issues with CM7?

I've had no issues yet.
Only thing that is annoying me is PlayStore keeps getting a server error and my Home button doesn't work :S

I have used CM7 for a couple of months, and games that use the touchpads work fine.

im using cm7 before, when i launch the games, it said games not compatible with the phone.. how to fix this??

[Q] mic gain

i've noticed when running cm7.2 and record with voice recorder play back can hardly be heard, but on a ics rom it it perfect. anyone know how to get more from the mic on cm7?

What kernal are you using? I'm using aero's 10.5 on the latest nightly CM7 and it works great.

Using a modded kernel on stock rom?

I was wondering is it possible to uses a new kernel without a custom rom? I've been running rooted stock since December because in way too picky and scared to go custom. I want to use a kernel that has better battery life and also has BLN support. Furthermore id like to know if it is safe to even switch kernels on gingerbread because our phone IS effected by the EMMC Brick Bug. I used Chainfire's app to check and my phone DOES have a bad EMMC chip. Thanks

Pimp my ROM 3.4

FYI that on any SlimBean ROM the new PMR 3.4 will bork your build.prop and cause random reboots if you try and install the Addons (Bravia, pimp my beats, cloud, etc)

u sure u didn't just have cache issues, or an improper flash? I've flashed those addons in the past without issue...

In the past. Try it with the new upstate on slimbean 1-12 release. Don't say I didn't warn you though.

+1 on this. I can confirm it happened to me on all star sb. Also it caused my dialer app to go super laggy and crazy when getting a call or calling somebody

This happened with the Embryo ROM...I tried to flash the newer Pimp My Beats & my music player kept FC'ing.

Happens to me as well...tried a few times. The old PMR worked, but the new messes w sound. I'm using TWRP and AOKP 4.1.2, KKO12, w/ gnex 4.2 gapps.
