Hi this is my 1st thread,
as every body know xperia ICS is having a slow dial pad.(it take more thatn 4 seconds to load with recent contacts)
But there are few 3rd part Dialers like exDialer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modoohut.dialer&feature=search_result. this application work fine with any amount of recent contacts,It loads within 1,2 seconds
SO is there any way to permanently uninstall /disable default xperia pro Dialer and make the dial pad loading time increase
Root your phone. Btw, you're in a wrong section..

In main directory (SD card or device) create folder called Media then subfolder Audio then subfolders alarms-notifications-ringtones. then add your desired tones to folders and go to settings - tones and assign tones (ringtone, sms etc) for email you must open app and do it from settings.

There is no option in settings to assign a custom text tone for a single contact, only ringtones, thats why I created this thread to see if there was a workaround.
Thanks anyway.

Yup, one of the downsides, imo, of the stock messaging. You may not like Handcent, but there are others. Handcent has been my go-to replacement, as the others just didn't feel right. It does have emoji support, too, which is great when you have friends on ios; it's a free plugin on the market.

Actually, check your contacts. There is a custom ringtone, and right under that is a notification option to choose your custom sound.

I'm running the most recent version, and no problems here. You won't break anything by trying it out, or others.

Hello,
I Look for a mod that disable the auto convert big sms to a mms message.
Its a very important to me.
Galaxy s3 - i9300.
Thank you !!
Up.
I'm interesting for a mod like this.
If it was possible to have a sms mod with the autoconvert disable, unlimited contact and sent times, it would be great.

Sum Roms have this feature included so it is possible, search through the roms section & maybe you can ask the dev for help or if not jump onto there rom instead?
Hope this helps if so press the thanks button
If u are rooted, then u could just use a root explorer and open the CSC file, go to features and then edit a line about the conversion ans set it to false
Cheers!

In system/csc/
you have either "features.xml" or "others.xml".
Edit with text editor and set permissions afterwards. (-rw-r--r--)-(644)
Add the following lines:
<CscFeature_Message_DisableSmsToMmsConversionByTextInput>TRUE</CscFeature_Message_DisableSmsToMmsConversionByTextInput>
Reboot.

Hi, i've instaled the file and then reboot, but still changes to MMS and doesn't allow to add more than 10 persons in the Recipient.
Afther instalion i've try to replace the SecMmS.apk, then rebooted, but every time I open sms it stops/frezes and shuts sms down.
Should I do something diferent?
I'm with Stock XXELLA on S III International.
thanks

Yes , you can change the sounds. Make sure you have .ogg files.
Go to /system/media/audio/ui
In that you will see lists of sound files which are used most of the time.
The sound you are searching for keypress sounds.
There are totally 5.But you need to change only 3.
You need to change these 3.
keypressDelete keypressSpacebar keypressStandard.
And replace the files that you want.
Hope you understood , if not ask here.... will help
Yes dude is working...thanks a lot
