Hello,
I know for the Nexus S 4G there is a way to copy wimax.img to an sd card, would it be possible to copy those steps for the E4GT? From what I know there isn't away fro CWM to copy the RSA keys when it does a back up unless that changed. Any replies will be helpful.
Thank you
the info about the nexus s 4g wimax partition was incorrect. and afaik its the same thing for the epic touch.
there is no wimax partition like in htc phones... wimax is set up differently. to this date ive yet to see anyone screw up any samsung phones wimax.
Don't need it on this phone or the og epic

Hello!
After I've installed CWM 5 on my Epic 4G Touch and put in it SD Card from my Epic 4G Everything what was before on /mnt/sdcard right now i can see on /mnt/sdcard/external_sd
But Nandroid from CWM 5 can see all of my old backups. /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/clockworkmod/
It is very interesting because Rom Manager can see only new clockworkmod and it is on /mnt/sdcard/clockworkmod
Can somebody give me an advice how I can show to Rom Manager what is written on /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/clockworkmod/?
Is it possible?
Or how you are doing it and what to do with the info from /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/? How to show to all programms look and install to external_sd but not on sdcard? Or at least to some programs, not all of them?
I'm really sorry for my language but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say?
Please, I need your advice or your experience?
Thank you!
God bless you!
Hi,
my phone was stolen and to track it police needs the IMEI number.
I know its on the sticker at the bottom side of the package, but ... I used the package as container for joint assembly and threw it away when I cleaned my car.
I still have nandroid backups left on my computer.
I remember in that strange chinaphone I bought on ebay was a file "/sys/nvram/bla/blubb/IMEI.something, which somebody nulled.
I unyaffsed my system.img from the DZ but it had no sys folder.
Can I retrieve the IMEI from a file in the backup? If, then which?

I don't know if you can find the IMEI in the nandroid backup, but I think info like that is stored in partition 7 of the phone. Now, when you use gfree to root it, you end up with a partition 7 backup, which includes unique info about your phone.
So if you can't find it in the nandroid, it might be valuable to look there, if you have a partition 7 backup.
Wish me luck that I still have the p7 backup. Right now I am very pessimistic as my adb folder was on a crashed hd and I think I pulled it to there.
At any case you should ask Nipqer, he knows more about that stuff than I do. You can hop onto #g2root at the freenode IRC and ask there. They'll probably give you a better answer.
Why doesn't your carrier have it on file? They should considering they need it to activate the device. Have you tried calling to ask?
If you still have original box it came in it should be there as well.

My Epic 4G Touch was dropped on ceramic tile and the screen is cracked and no longer works at all. I had some apps that backed up data to the internal storage and now I can't get it to come up on my PC. I've connected the phone a few times before and I was able to access the files on the internal storage but of course now that the screen doesn't work I can't access it. Any ideas???
This happened to someone else not too long ago. There is a thread about it somewhere around here.

I think if you odin a one click from sfhub, when u plug your e4gt to your computer, it automatically mounts so you can get your data off.

Thanks but I'm not quite sure what that means. I haven't rooted my Android phones since I had the original EVO.
You may be able to dump the data off the emmc with adb. You would need to know which block that data is stored on. You can get that info with adb too. It would be like doing a system dump but instead you would be dumping either the entire emmc or just the part that hold the info you want. I don't know the commands right off but searching Google for adb commands should return some useful info.
I have a backup from my old s3 through twrp recovery that I need to pull files from. specifically a thread of text messages. I no longer have the s3 or access to one. this is extremely important as it will be used as evidence in a custody battle for my youngest son. I'm thinking there is a way to emulate the s3 on my windows computer from there I can save the xml file and send it to myself somehow. any and all help would be much appreciated.
