As stated below the 50FPS was on newer hardware.. But I still get 30 FPS on my Samsung 1.3 which still blows away any Android/iOS/Blackberry device out there and I love running the test and watching the other user put their tails between their legs!
If anyone has a new generation WP (or iOS5 or Ice Cream Sand. or BBerry QNX powered phone) please run the fishbowl test at

I got 29 fps in FishTank and 27 in Speed Reader on Mango Samsung Focus 1.3

Phone: Samsung Omnia 7
FishIE Tank: 30fps
Speed Reading: 27fps

So in this video which windows phone 7 is that?

HTC Mazaa, a developer phone

30 FPS Fishtank
28 FPS Speed Reader with Browser Score 41 Secs
Focus 1.3 7720

I pushed the queue with the Mango update and I am only getting 3-4 FPS on Speed Reading, and 17FPS on Fish Tank!
I have the HTC HD7.
By jumping the gun, did I miss the driver updates?
EDIT: I wasnt using the mobile version of the tests. got 24FPS on Speed Reading and 30FPS on Fish Tank. Ok for a 1st Gen device I guess.

My LG Optimus 7 ran fish tank at 30 fps
Speed reader 27 fps
Quiet happy with that for first gen as well.
this phone is so much better to use now.

[Q] Does the G4 shoot 1080p at 60 fps?

I'm having a very difficult time trying to find out if the rear camera on the G4 can indeed shoot 1080p video at 60 fps? Some reviews on YouTube say that it can, while some others say that it can't. I'm wondering if maybe the preview units LG sent out to testers can't do it and maybe the actual retail units can? Could anyone with a retail unit and not one of the preview units please see if the G4 can actually shoot 1080p videos at 60 fps?
No at this moment
Most of the specs I read say [email protected] and [email protected] Hope that's not a typo because is was hoping for 60fps
---------- Post added at 01:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:08 PM ----------
In this article http://www.tmonews.com/2015/05/lg-g4-review/ it says:
"For this who like to shoot video, the G4 can shoot in resolutions up to 4k (at 30fps). If you want a higher frame rate for a smoother video, you can drop it down to Full HD 1080p and shoot at 60fps. It also has optical stabilization to minimize any camera movements."
Can't guarantee it's accurate but hope so.

Most of the specs say 1080p at 60 fps, but so far no videos actually show it. I have seen 1 video (and only 1 video) claim to be @ 60fps but there is no proof at all it was even shot with a G4. I played with a demo unit at a store yesterday and the unit I used definitely didn't shoot at 60 fps.

I played with the AT&T version at the store and it had 1080p/60fps as an option.

Hmm interesting. I wonder if it's only an option on certain carriers right now? Do you remember what exactly what the menu options were? Was it just UHD, FHD, HD, and Slow-Mo or was there another option?
The LG G2 and G3 both have [email protected] so we can assume the G4 does as well. It needs a lot of light to shoot at 60fps otherwise the LG automatically lowers the frame rate. Not sure of the technical reasons but with my G2 I need to be outdoors on a sunny day to get 60fps. I tried last night inside in a dim room and it only recorded at 15fps even though I was on the 60fps setting. Still awaiting my g4 but it's the first thing I'm going to try.
I was finally able to find a video claiming 60fps!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6POQK_3nzw
That's a good start, although I still find it odd that this is the only LG G4 1080 60 fps video that I've seen (aside from 1 other random video that had no info at all). Especially considering how many of these they sent to youtubers to review. I'd still really like to see a screen shot of the menu actually showing the option.

I just took a short test video on my G4 and used MediaInfo software to analyse the file. it was only 30fps. I tried at both 4K and 1080p. There's no option anywhere in the camera app to choose framerate.

I can confirm that both UHD and FHD produce 30fps videos. Or that is what vlc shows when playing them back on PC.
I can confirm that the G4 can't record in 60 fps.

That guy in the video I linked still claims that it can in the comments on the video. I'm not sure if he is flat out lying or what, but he seems pretty certain.

The LG G4's Camera is Unique at this moment, but GSMArena tells the awful truth in the review:

Yea, their specs are wrong. Not for the first time.
G3 can record at 60fps via XCAM, future updates might bring 60fps but if not then probably i hope XCAM will come to G4, that would unlock all hidden potential
Just like the g3 not it can't

how to root s6 without tripping knox?

my software version is G902PVPU3B0J7 and the android version is 5.1.1. I'm guessing I shouldnt have installed that update i got yesterday. I have had the phone for two days so i am late to the party but i got it on a 9$ monthly lease 4 months before the new version is likely to come out (s6 came out last april) and so being on the lease i d like to not be tripping knox. Thanks!
PS. of what real advantage is an 8 core processor?
anyway to downgrade my installed version?

what programs in android are written to take advantage of an 8 core processor?
And can you name any that i can download from googles play store?
That are optimized for 8 core samsung processors?
Oh wow! All those letters on that site are making my girlie brain ache. Cant you feel it too?
So the point is you cant mention a single app that is designed for an 8 core processor that i can download from google play?
So basically samsung has become the amd of the android market? Their processors could do more but no one uses them and so the only bennies come from possibly multitasking. That would be great if i wanted to run a virtualboc and play skyrim i guess... ps. Lets port skyrim to android....

Generally stated, apps need not concern themselves with processor count. The only thing an app has to do is prepare for threaded operations, which Android generally does well at threading so long as apps are well written.
To be sure, resource (CPU, et al) scheduling is the kernel's job and Linux is quite aware of the eight cores and how to used them to schedule apps and lower level system operations.
So no, Samsung nor any other multi-core (or multi-processor model for dedicated operations) is not the next AMD.
Hope that helps.
Thank you

I run a lot of ps1 and ps2 emulators with almost no issues. Maybe a little over heating no complaints. Try going to settings somwhere ive seen something about adjusting game quality for better preformance and battery. It may be under sisplay settings or battery settings

Gaming performance?

Hey guys, I'm about to get myself an LG G7, and my primary concern is the gaming performance. I'm a big gamer and it looks like the performance on the G7 is lacking.
Has this been fixed? I'll be getting the T-Mobile variant.
For reference, I had an S9 Plus and dolphin ran fullspeed, but the videos I watched show the performance is just like my Pixel (1st Gen) which is bad, and with Android native games the performance is much worse compared to other Snapdragon 845 devices.
Has there been a reason for this that is user fixable?
I have a LG G7 and play PubG mobile. Runs really good. No issues at all.

Is it really so bad as presented on videos above?
I doubt it, no review found this, could be he has thick cases and lots of services running in the background.
yes it is that bad i can confirm.

On dolphin emulator i've tested new super mario brothers and resident evil 4 on galaxy s9 with snapdragon 845 and on lg g7 with the same snapdragon 845, there was a huge difference, in resident evil 4 i got steady 30fps on s9 and around 15~20 on g7, on new super mario brothers i got a lot of slowdowns on g7 and a great perfomance without slowdowns on s9.

Samsung Dex on the Galaxy S20

I'm wondering how Samsung Dex will work on the Samsung Galaxy S20. Is it finally powerful enough to replace the desktop?

yeah! It can replace the pc with it.
but the question is does it can support the developers to create. My answer to this is no!.
It suits to do office works and you can watch movies, videos and even play games.
It can if you have Shadow PC
It's actually decent and usable. I'm using Browser thru DEX without any discerning lag. Played a couple of games of Plants vs Zombies also, feels like it's running at about 15-20 fps.
Wouldn't want to replace PC with it, but it's surprisingly usable.
