Hello, I've bought a cable to use the TVOUT, it's a standard 3.5mm -> 3 RCA one, but whatever rca plug I try to connect to video just produces an unstable image, I can see that it looks like the phone screen, I can read the hours in the clock but the image is redish and unstable. How can I fix that? I don't see a reason for the cable being the problem because all those 3.5mm cable are exactly the same, 3.5mm in one end with 3 receptors linked to 3 rca in the other extremity.
I'm using Bionix V2, I believe it has VOODOO color, could that be the cause?

i've tried all combinations possible, that's not the problem, the strange thing is that all 3 rca plugs produce an image, distorted one. I believe this cable is bad made, like a short circuit of all 3 rca ends.

I dont think its the cable,Its the rom assuming u are using the right settings NTSC /Pal.
its seems like itz the configuration of the ROM. Some the ROMs have this problem.

now the very strange part, i've tried re-wiring the cable, i've tried resoring an original rom, and i get exact same problem (distorted image). I believe it must be the cable's 3.5mm plug that is deffective. it's the only explanation left.
I done mine by trial, i connect the other end on the TV and other end on vibrant and play video, then try 1 cable at a time, it takes me around 20 min to figure out correct connection with the help of paper and pen.

i've cut the cable and tried every possible mix and it didn't work. The only cause I can think off is that the 3.5mm plug of this damn cable is messed up, short circuited.
How old is the cable its pretty hard to find a short circuited cable.

So I decided to buy a tv out cable from amazon, and I had read about how some cords simply not being compatible with the galaxy s phones. So I decided to get a jvc cord because it was 3 dollars with free shipping and I had tried my friend's jvc cord before and it worked.
When I finally got the cord, to my surprise I they sent me an oem samsung tv out cable! I was pretty excited because on the samsung website it says this cord is designed for the galaxy s phones! But guess what! This cord sucks **** and was only displaying garbled images with crackly audio!
So I was wondering what everyone's experience was with tv out (specifically the OEM samsung tv out cable).
As I side note, I did try switching the red and yellow plugs, and various combinations of the three plugs but it still didn't work...

Another question: I'm running axura 2.3.1.3. Does the kernal and or rom effect how tv out works?

I have used a bunch if cords (not the Sammy one though) and none has worked. Including the jvc you ordered. I have tried a Sony one and a cheap one that came with my camcorder, and a random one I had lying around and gotthe same

I've used a knockoff Panasonic camcorder cable I got off of Amazon, and a Zune120 video out cable, and these work just fine.
Need to make sure the connector is fully seated into the headphone jack, and make sure TV-OUT is set to the correct setting for your region (NTSC/PAL) or you'll end up with garbled unviewable crap.
I've used a Zune video out cable as well as a cheap cable that came with a generic iPod (my swiftkey kept correcting that as "joke" haha) dock. Both worked fine, without me even having to switch colors. As was said before make sure the cable is fully seated into the jack.
I bought the one from amazon and was disappointed when it did not work. I tried one off ebay and it worked great. On this one you don't have to guess what color to plug in or switch.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...513499&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_500wt_1156
I use an original Zune video out cable and it works great!
I actually purchased one from a 99 cent store near my house and that only gave me a fuzzy image and fuzzy sound.
i bought a samsung oem rca vibrant cable on ebay and it worked for me no problems, audio and video are both rca quality.. now if there was only hdmi cable that is inexpensive
Ok I found out the problem! I had the correct settings and I pushed in the headphone jack as hard as I could but I still kept getting garble. I finally got irritated enough and cut the blasted cord open where the headphone and rca cords meet. Hopefully i'll get around to posting pictures but there 5 different lines of wire (red, yellow, white, black and green) in the middle yellow is connected to green. While the rest just continue on. I decided to cut and switch the black and green so it would be yellow to black and black to green and it works! Sound is clear, and picture is perfect! Now I just need to find a way to weld the wires back together...
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
that sounds like fun
thats awesome! makes me wanna go buy a cord this weekend and cut it up! LOL
whoa haws, put that welder down!! just electrical tape one, then the other around the first..
Pictures
So if anyone is still interested, here are some pics:
If you have a ghetto tv out cable like I did, you might want to try this. Keep in mind this was for the OEM Samsung TV out cable and has not been tested with other TV out cables.
So basically I circled the part on the cord that you will need to pry open.
inside you will need to cut the yellow to green connection and the open copper wires to black connection.
Re wire the wires so yellow and black are connected and open copper to green is connected.
after that, your cable is de-ghettofied and should be good to go.
Hows the picture quality on these TV out cables
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
It's standard definition, so nothing too spectacular. I found that after doing the wiring mod on the cord I bought, the picture quality wasn't good enough to read text on. So, for example, if you can read the text on your galaxy s display on a normal zoom level, you most likely won't be able to read it on the tv regardless of whether you are using an hd tv or not. Of course this might be different with other cables.

The same here, my cable is from some dock for Ipod.
I got this cable off of amazon for under $4 including shipping, and it works right out of the box, with the colors matching up properly .
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006N5I5I
I got some JVC cord (I think...) off Amazon for like $3 when I first got my Vibrant and it was giving me crackly video/audio at first, then everything's been fine since then. I use it a lot more than I expected to, actually. Watching movies at my friends house, doing P90X on the living room TV as opposed to in my room off my computer, etc. Works fine for me, I've had it for going on a year now.
And yeah, you have to switch the red and yellow.
I just ordered one
Aite so i bought this:
http://www.amazon.com/RND-Power-Solutions-Adapter-Stereo/dp/B003YTL8C8/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Got a few decent reviews. But when i plugged it, i get an almost clear image but its in black and white. Tried a few other rca cables lying around and same problem.
Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem might be? Think its the cables, TV, ROM(Im on a 2.2.1 ROM. Should I be on a 2.2?)
Did you remember to switch the red and the yellow wires?
Though you're saying you have a video signal, just in black and white, so that might not be your issue. Try wiggling the cord a bit, I know I had to sorta break mine in before it worked normally. When I first got it the image was all static-y and what not, but as I used it more (have been for the past year) it's sorta worn in and works like a champ now.

By chance is it set to PAL and you live in the U.S.? (NTSC is for North America) or vice-versa?
as far as i know, you need the original samsung cable
I'm having the same problem, I got the cable today, plugged it in, now it's all static-y, i can guarantee it's not your ROM though, i'm running the GalaxyExtreme-Final ROM which is 2.2.1 and it's still not working

You'll just be needing a cheap, standard 3.5 mm av jack which can be bought from any hardware or electronics stores. (No need for Nokia CA 75U Cable)
1. Go to Settings>>Connectivity>>TV-out and set NTSC. Tap the indicator to enable TV-out.
2. Set your TV to INPUT mode.
3. The trick: The tip is to Insert the RED pin to the YELLOW port/socket, the Yellow pin on RED port and the White pin on White. It may look wrong to mismatch pin colors against the ports but this will do the trick.
4. Insert the main jack to the Samsung Wave and select Mobile TV on the options.
5. Now, You should see your Wave's screen displayed on TV!
Please Tell me how it is....By leaving a Comment below
Will try it once I get home! Thanks!

What's the difference between the Nokia cable and a "standard 3.5mm av jack" that could mean nearly anything?
You can get tv out by connecting the standard 3.5 mm av cable to the hedphone port...where as in the Nokia cable, you have to connect it to the charger port to get tv out! Undertstood? Or you want some images?

The difference is : the nokia câble is not the good one (RED pin to the YELLOW port/socket, the Yellow pin on RED port) and it is more expensive.
A standard 3.5mm av jack works perfectly (red on red, and yellow on yellow).
This trick is funny.
I have one good trick in the same way, to read a SMS :
1. Push the menu button
2. find the message icon
3. click it
4. Now, You should see your messages !
Actually, In teh Nokia cable you can put red-to-red and yellow-to-yellow..If you want to use a standard AV cable you should put red-to-whit and white-to-red! If you know many people do not know how to use the AV cable. On another forum, I had my PM spammed to know how they could use the AV cable for TV OUT. If you think this thing is LAME..Just shut up and let the other use it!
Also, The nokia cable is way more expensive!
GUYS,
If you feel this this is LAME, please write it down..and I will ask some Mod to remove it..!!
Well
yes it is LAME
i don't have the cable yet but i think it is a very small tip to be put in a topic
Maybe you can collect all your tips in one topic
Best Regards

well nice tip. i bought a av cable in 20 INR (approx 0.44 USD) which was meant to use with portable cd player. and its working. Previously I was searching for a cable on ebay.

My WD Live HD's 3.5mm to AV cable works on my Galaxy S with this method. Also works on my Nokia N97, but the pic is flickering sometimes.
Dear awesome community,
For the past month or more I've been trying to find a place where they sell Mirco-USB to 3.5mm/USB cables, but I have come to no success whatsoever!

Well, instead of having two wires coming out of my Note (Top and bottom) while I'm driving, a cable like this well have only one wire coming out from under the phone, cutting on clutter and annoying wires.
must be out there

That's totally proprietary. The phone that that is made for probably doesn't even have a 3.5mm jack.

Well.. sorry to be a troll. However, you started this thread conveniently assuming that Headphone output through MicroUSB port of Note will work? Its not an HTC phone which has headset support.
May I know the reason for your ASSUMPTION that it would work even if you get the cable?
Your best bet for a single plug into your phone would probably be to use an MHL>HDMI adapter, and then get another adapter to convert from HDMI audio to 3.5mm.
That would be rather clunky though. HDMI > Anything (that isn't DVI) converters are going to run you at least about $40 for a start, and they aren't small either (probably not much smaller than the phone itself .) And they are externally-powered, so you'd need to provide power to both the MHL dongle and the HDMI converter, so it'd be super untidy.
You could do it though.
But you're probably better off using Bluetooth.

My assumption comes from the fact that there is a "docking" option in the system settings of the Galaxy Note, meaning that there is support for docking stations and probably audio output for them.
I'm not saying that the Note is the only and first phone to have it, I'm just wondering if there are such cables out there and if such thing possible to be made through Micro USB.
I had an iPhone almost 2 years ago and such cable was available easily and it did really help in my car setup, and since the Note has the same slot setup of my old iPhone I would really like to know if a cable like that is somewhere out there.

Well, looking at this car docking station...
(Link not allowed. Search for "Genuine Samsung Galaxy Note Vehicle Dock - ECS-K1E1BEGSTD" on MobileFun)
...it clearly shows a "speaker line out" socket in one of the photos, with only one connector (i.e. the micro USB connector) attaching to the phone.
So it is most certainly possible.
Hmmm, the both the official desktop dock and car dock have a 3.5mm audio out. It seems unlikely that there would be a USB DAC in the docks themselves, which suggests that analogue audio is being piped out the microUSB port on the phone itself.
Of course, the OP could just buy the official car dock to get nice tidy cabling...
If i understood the purpose of this cable, it would be:
For example:
My car supports audio input so the purpose of a cable like this would be to stream music to my car audio system and recharge de phone like a all-in-one right?

I too really want one of these.
It is obviously possible as the destop & car dock do this.
The only way is, for someone with some electronics knowledge to pull one of these apart to see how its done. It would be interesting to see if it is straight audio out, or if there is a "Digital to Analogue Converter in there"

This might do the trick in the unlikely case that Note's microusb outputs audio. Tough I'm really interested in knowing for sure if the Galaxy Note microusb pumps line level audio.
Judging by the price of the desktop dock i wouldn't bet my money on the idea that it has not a dac. I

Hello,
i just bought a dasaita px6 for my 2017 toyota auris with canbus adaptor.
everything works fine, the steering wheel controls, shows me opened doors and so on.
when i shift into the reverse gear the head unit recognizes it, but only shows a yellow triangle with an ! in it. so it gets this signal from the canbus
i tried 2 aftermarked cameras, took the +12v from the reverse bulb for the camera, connected the rca cable with the first VIN from the radio, but nothing. same on the second VIN.
Has anyone an idea whats going wrong there?
Just to be sure, you connected the yellow male RCA cam cable to the female RCA cam in cable, correct? Those are the colours on my RAV4 harness, that solved my problem. Hope that helps
i connected it with a female/female adaptor directly to the bus rca cable. solved the problem by using an extra cable direct to the radio with a female rca

i had the same issue but i forgot you need to connect the yellow cables on the canbus and the harness together, one was marked cam vin . There was male and female connectors which need to be connected together.
It was all working while setting up also works some times, I don't think so an issue with initial setup. But at times when I put reverse gear display switches to show reverae camera with guide lines but instead of video there is a yellow triangle. Please advise
