You'll just be needing a cheap, standard 3.5 mm av jack which can be bought from any hardware or electronics stores. (No need for Nokia CA 75U Cable)
1. Go to Settings>>Connectivity>>TV-out and set NTSC. Tap the indicator to enable TV-out.
2. Set your TV to INPUT mode.
3. The trick: The tip is to Insert the RED pin to the YELLOW port/socket, the Yellow pin on RED port and the White pin on White. It may look wrong to mismatch pin colors against the ports but this will do the trick.
4. Insert the main jack to the Samsung Wave and select Mobile TV on the options.
5. Now, You should see your Wave's screen displayed on TV!
Please Tell me how it is....By leaving a Comment below
Will try it once I get home! Thanks!

What's the difference between the Nokia cable and a "standard 3.5mm av jack" that could mean nearly anything?
You can get tv out by connecting the standard 3.5 mm av cable to the hedphone port...where as in the Nokia cable, you have to connect it to the charger port to get tv out! Undertstood? Or you want some images?

The difference is : the nokia câble is not the good one (RED pin to the YELLOW port/socket, the Yellow pin on RED port) and it is more expensive.
A standard 3.5mm av jack works perfectly (red on red, and yellow on yellow).
This trick is funny.
I have one good trick in the same way, to read a SMS :
1. Push the menu button
2. find the message icon
3. click it
4. Now, You should see your messages !
Actually, In teh Nokia cable you can put red-to-red and yellow-to-yellow..If you want to use a standard AV cable you should put red-to-whit and white-to-red! If you know many people do not know how to use the AV cable. On another forum, I had my PM spammed to know how they could use the AV cable for TV OUT. If you think this thing is LAME..Just shut up and let the other use it!
Also, The nokia cable is way more expensive!
GUYS,
If you feel this this is LAME, please write it down..and I will ask some Mod to remove it..!!
Well
yes it is LAME
i don't have the cable yet but i think it is a very small tip to be put in a topic
Maybe you can collect all your tips in one topic

Many people are buying the Nokia cable and hence i suggested them a smaller method..
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA App
well nice tip. i bought a av cable in 20 INR (approx 0.44 USD) which was meant to use with portable cd player. and its working. Previously I was searching for a cable on ebay.
Nice tip. Found it recently.
My WD Live HD's 3.5mm to AV cable works on my Galaxy S with this method. Also works on my Nokia N97, but the pic is flickering sometimes.

USB adapter. I just love the Elf phone. The only things I am disappointed in is that I cannot plug in a set of external speakers. I cannot plug in to the charger whilst watching a film as I need the socket for the headphones...
Does anyone know of an adapter to enable me to do this please? I could get one made up from the diagram, however I would prefer to buy a custom made one.

maybe something like this?

The Elf has only a USB socket, nothing else... No phono or whatever they call it... For me this is the only fault with a superb little phone.
Thanks anyway.
dont know about the elf but all other newer htc devices have a special usb connector which also carry audio
if your device came with a headset then yours do too
as they device dont support usb host so it cant use any usb devices

3Way USB adapter for HTC Touch/Elf
There is in fact a 3 way adapter available. I found it after a bit of a search. For some reason some of you seemed to think I was looking for a headset. The USB socket on the HTC Touch does not allow you to use anything else other than the supplied USB headset. however I want to use a set of Sony speakers for the sound to play MP3's and as I like to watch films in bed through ORB I like to be able to charge the phone at the same time. The process uses a lot of battery power.
The adapter I found has a stereo jack socket and 2 USB sockets the same as the one on the phone. So now I can plug in my head set and charger or charger and speakers in any form I choose.
If anyone else is interested here is a link where you can buy one for about £12.00 which includes postage: http://www.elitextreme.com/htcto31ad.html
The pictures show what I was talking about...

Thanks for the find, but will it work even if it's for the TyTN and not specifically for the Touch?
And is it stereo as opposed to just mono?
i would asume that htc dont change the wireing of their miniusb connector flavour with each device it would serve no purpos and would cost alot for htc
i would asume that if stereo is in the miniusb connector when used for normal wired headset it would be using that converter
as it would serve no purpos for the converter to add the eletronics it would require to just take 1 channel and spit it in 2 without lowering the the volume to ½ because of the impedanc
Well, I've searched the forums and web and I can't seem to find a extUSB extension cable.
I found links for a male connector that requires soldering but there is no female connector to directly make an extension.
Does anyone one know where to locate a extUSB mini extension cable? I might end up having break out my old soldering iron otherwise.
I've never seen one...
There are the two male plugs on Sparkfun, but I haven't seen a female connector. Possibly pirate one from an old/broken phone on eBay?
Or, depending on what you're wanting to extend, get an adaptor (there's one on Amazon that this new user can't link to) and use a standard mini USB. But you'd lose some functionality, of course.
unless you really need to carry the audio then a normal usb extension cable would work just fine

Actually, audio and power are what I am looking to extend. This is to have one cable going to my car cradle while keeping everything else tucked away. I just ordered a couple extUSB data sync cables and a couple 3 in one adaptors for cheap on eBay. I plan on cutting and splicing the two cables together and then shrink wrapping the joint.
Hopefully all goes well. If so, I'll post some pics and the info used in making them.

3in1 11 PIN ExtUSB Earphone Handsfree Adapter for HTC
Finally appeared on eBay what I was looking for a long time!!
I think that is the same that you are looking for!
http://cgi.ebay.com/3in1-11-PIN-Ext...AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item3cabfd9d0b
Now I will not have a lot of wires apparent in the dashboard of my car!
not yet tested, I just bought!
Please let us know how long the cable is - thanks
Hi guys.
I bought 2 of them.
I'm using thet extension on my car, but when I connect to the USB power jacket, audio is affected by an annoying drone noise...
Of course audio backs perfect unplugging the power cable...
How to fix this?
Thanks!
I so far have not received my extension! But it should be on the way, because I live in Brazil and the request is coming from China.
At the moment I use an HTC adapter (http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-Audio-Adapt...ewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item27b1f6236b) and I also have the same audio problem when I'm charging my phone in the car. Sometimes it gets very loud and sometimes becomes very low distortion. I found that helps a lot if you leave the phone's volume low and increase the volume of your car sound. Sound distortion is less so.
Once I saw here in the forum someone recommending a audio filter but I can not find the thread that had the link, but basically that's what we need.
If you find a solution please post here!
When I get my extension I will test and post the results here too!
I also have that original HTC adapter, I bought it before.
With the adapter I have no noise, it's only difficult to raise 2 cable to the phone...
Otherwise, I think the filter is the only solution.
Could you try to remember any detail to search for it?
Check this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-377996.html , it's exactly what we have to fix...
My extension just arrived! In this second!
Using the HTC adapter you do not have any noise? I have sometimes and sometimes not!
Anyway I think we need something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Peripheral-PA...3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1275345446&sr=1-3
http://www.amazon.com/Peripheral-PG...?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1275345446&sr=1-12

http://cgi.ebay.com/PAC-Audio-SNI-1...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c54bd2a89
Let's keep in touch until we solve it! I'll test my extension and post the result here.
Hey guys,
I wonder if there is a way to connect our x8 with a tv, that would be nice, Seeing the extra connectors on the earphones jack, i can only assume that there is some special cable that plugs there.
Plus a bluetooth keyboard will make going online lot easier, connected to your TV?
Maybe a ebay link if someone knows?
No there is no way to connect x8 to TV, that connector is for earphones with controls
Apparently, I think there is a way See the screen on TV.
I'm sure there is an app for x8 that streams the screen to a PC. After this, you only have to connect the PC to the TV. Hope this helps.

BTW I tried this software and I must say it's really impressive. Only backshot is that its FPS is about 4-5 what is not so much. BUT if you want to show pictures to the whole family, it can be a more easier way than to upload them to the PC.
If you have a wireless headset, you even can control your phone calls from the PC too! Not to mention that you can easily write SMS with keyboard instead of the touch screen.

why i suggested it since its pretty much the only way to get the x8 image on a TV screen without a PC and LAN.
plus:
I know for a fact that ppl hacked their GBCs and GBs to have a VGA connection so it should be possible... I didnt say I could do it but it would be possible.

If it is possible, it's certainly not on the lcd flex..

This is what you said :
"you could mod the lcd flex cable to a vga/dvi plug though i dont think there is enough space for the cables and how the data is transmissions in the flax cable (what codec)..."
It just says here he could "mod" the flex so he could connect a vga/dvi plug on it, you are just unsure if the wires could fit or not, you also state that what passes tru the flex is a video stream but i'm not even touching that subject.
So ok, you just solder some wires to the flex or the flex header, attach the other end of the wires to the dvi/vga plug and you are done.
Now look at the video you sent me, the guy is using an altera dev board (looks like a cyclone II starter, which costs more than 200 dollars) to poorly convert the simple lcd signals of the gameboy pocket into vga. Now imagine doing the same thing into something 5000x more complex and that uses a completely different signaling interface. Can it be done? Probably yes, with equipment that costs thousands and thousands of dollars and an intelligent guy with solid knowledge in electronics. Imagine how many phones with hdmi you could buy with that money.
Also, it would be easier to find a video out on the SOC pins than doing that (if it has one)

I remember i've connected my laptop to our TV via HDMI a while ago, so with this it should be done easily with one of those screen streaming programs.
Connecting a 3.5mm to 3.55mm jack cable between the line-out and line-in of the pc would also give sound.
Though i don't think you meant getting a PC with it along

Hello, I've bought a cable to use the TVOUT, it's a standard 3.5mm -> 3 RCA one, but whatever rca plug I try to connect to video just produces an unstable image, I can see that it looks like the phone screen, I can read the hours in the clock but the image is redish and unstable. How can I fix that? I don't see a reason for the cable being the problem because all those 3.5mm cable are exactly the same, 3.5mm in one end with 3 receptors linked to 3 rca in the other extremity.
I'm using Bionix V2, I believe it has VOODOO color, could that be the cause?

now the very strange part, i've tried re-wiring the cable, i've tried resoring an original rom, and i get exact same problem (distorted image). I believe it must be the cable's 3.5mm plug that is deffective. it's the only explanation left.

i've cut the cable and tried every possible mix and it didn't work. The only cause I can think off is that the 3.5mm plug of this damn cable is messed up, short circuited.

Well.. sorry to be a troll. However, you started this thread conveniently assuming that Headphone output through MicroUSB port of Note will work? Its not an HTC phone which has headset support.
May I know the reason for your ASSUMPTION that it would work even if you get the cable?
Your best bet for a single plug into your phone would probably be to use an MHL>HDMI adapter, and then get another adapter to convert from HDMI audio to 3.5mm.
That would be rather clunky though. HDMI > Anything (that isn't DVI) converters are going to run you at least about $40 for a start, and they aren't small either (probably not much smaller than the phone itself .) And they are externally-powered, so you'd need to provide power to both the MHL dongle and the HDMI converter, so it'd be super untidy.
You could do it though.
But you're probably better off using Bluetooth.

My assumption comes from the fact that there is a "docking" option in the system settings of the Galaxy Note, meaning that there is support for docking stations and probably audio output for them.
I'm not saying that the Note is the only and first phone to have it, I'm just wondering if there are such cables out there and if such thing possible to be made through Micro USB.
I had an iPhone almost 2 years ago and such cable was available easily and it did really help in my car setup, and since the Note has the same slot setup of my old iPhone I would really like to know if a cable like that is somewhere out there.

Well, looking at this car docking station...
(Link not allowed. Search for "Genuine Samsung Galaxy Note Vehicle Dock - ECS-K1E1BEGSTD" on MobileFun)
...it clearly shows a "speaker line out" socket in one of the photos, with only one connector (i.e. the micro USB connector) attaching to the phone.
So it is most certainly possible.
Hmmm, the both the official desktop dock and car dock have a 3.5mm audio out. It seems unlikely that there would be a USB DAC in the docks themselves, which suggests that analogue audio is being piped out the microUSB port on the phone itself.
Of course, the OP could just buy the official car dock to get nice tidy cabling...
If i understood the purpose of this cable, it would be:
For example:
My car supports audio input so the purpose of a cable like this would be to stream music to my car audio system and recharge de phone like a all-in-one right?

The only way is, for someone with some electronics knowledge to pull one of these apart to see how its done. It would be interesting to see if it is straight audio out, or if there is a "Digital to Analogue Converter in there"
