Crazy World - Bada Software and Hacking General

I want only to start a little discussion. About the status quo.
It's a crazy world out there isnt it. I rememberedt times where Microsoft was a bad companie and Google to. People hated them for collecting data and such things. Around Year 2000 it was really mad for them two.
Nowadays people helping them!?
By the way the worsest thing for me is that all devs here isntead of me and maybe some little count of others, are doing something in direction FOR bada.
All others are strongly going in one direction "android". The worse thing is why to support as dev a Forum that is killing your own work? It realy seems that it has no sense to stay here and support the killers of own work. Yes we make apps and here the people want to kill us, so we cannot stay over water and loosing our chances.
I must say thank you guys, its realy funny to be only one of the bad "bada" developers^^
XDA for me in that state is something like dead, people here are not fair, putting us down cause when i say i dont like android, i get messages that i am stupid and dont understand the world or how things are going on, than something is wrong.
Bada Users are always happy if we help them, but the others that cannot understand that we only want to coexist killing our time here.
So for real, xda should rename this bada to badadroid and webos to webdroid and make his way.
After openning XDA on mobile site our forum is only a single line and no there are enough users and will but the haters holding us small.
ALSO OUR MODERATOR, isnt how it seems interested in this section, a other minus for xda. What you guys think? Many other Forums are different, here you are stupid if you not use android, such things i dont need.
XDA is an Android Fanpage with alot android fanboys, it sucks.

With all due Respect
Laoriteo dont take it personally.
XDA was a windows mobile fan site before it was an android fan site.
But the good thing about XDA is that they do provide forums not just for windows mobile, (now Android) but for almost any major mobile OS out there,
WebOS, Bada, WP7 etc this is much more than i can say for any fan site.
Just remember that XDA has seriously acknowleged Bada by giving it not just one but three category slots on the forums.
And XDA is not an ordinary fansite, it has developers like you working on their preferred platforms with forums dedicated to those platforms.
Now in any site on the internet there will always be trolls, jerks, immature idiots
who ruin it for everybody else for whatever reason.
Now this is real life but you cant let the ugly facts of life ruin your vision.
If we all did this then our lives would be sad indeed and im not just talking about
platforms here but our everyday lives.
In everyday life if we focused on the negatives then living wont be a joy and its the same with love, work, family, hobbies, development etc
Dont let the jerks affect you.
If you do your letting them win.
Just ignore them and keep on what your doing.

think Android is sought after because 'so many things can get for free
force Bada!!!

Maybe, i will see how here things go...
Will think about it.

Hi guys ..
thanks larioteo for developing and I am appreciate that..
I am happy to be a member of bada os because it will succes in the future and I believe that ..
I can't say bada os is bad because it is new OS and needs just time to be strong
Bada 2.0 will change the opinion for users and developers also. Now Samsung is interested in this OS
Best regards..

It is not about how fantastic Android is now
it is about time and how bada 2.0 will be better than 1.2 and how many apps it will get
Will it make 1.2 users drop it and take 2.0 instead of the dual boot?!
it is not about companies and user's privacy...it is about what that mobile OS can serve to the user
Best Regads

so very true!.......nice!
---------- Post added at 11:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:46 AM ----------
i just bought a samsung galaxy s2.....but still love my wave and check every forum daily about wave!
like i always said anderoid is a pain in terms of usability ...... tu even use themes you have to root the phone!...lol
the battery backup of my S2 sucks big time!
i found out that the only difference in anderoid 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 is that in 2.3.4 you get gtalk with video and they fixed a bug related to os which used a lot of battery during standby!
the only good i see now is the market which gives you a lot for free! but with adds and malware!(now i understand what open to all means!...lol)
s2 has 2 cores each having 1.2 Ghz but still is not a bit faster then bada in terms of UI.
audio quality is not even close to wave!...but still good!...lol
the camera rocks only in case of video rec. still pictures are same as wave!...and i miss the hardware shutter button for camera .lol
i had a mixed bag experience wit anderoid!
bada is still smooth like butter!.....(dissapointed wit s2 a bit)...but life goes on!

quindi finale Bada 2.0 vs android = BADA

Windows Mobile 6.1 on Benq P50

Hello, this is my first post here, and I hope to not to break any rule. Here's what I want to say:
I have a Benq P50, and I'm one of those users that have to regret the fact of having bought a P50 and not a P51 instead, because we, the users of p50, have to stick on WM 2003, and see how the most of the programs we can get are designed for WM5 and superior.
Now, ok, maybe there's no any official update available por our phones to WM5 or 6 because they discontinued the P50 (now they discontinued the p51 as well) but they probably wanted to make the p50 obsolete, so everyone has to change to p51.
Well, now let's talk about hardware & software. These phones have almost the same hardware. Actually, I can state the differences:
To the left is P50, to the right, P51
Display TFT resistive touchscreen, 65K colors / TFT resistive touchscreen, 256K colors
Memory 64 MB RAM, 64 MB ROM / 64 MB RAM, 192 MB ROM
Wlan Wi-Fi 802.11b / Wi-Fi 802.11b/g
Bluetooth v1.1 / v1.2 with A2DP
Infrared Yes / No
So, as you may see, there aren't many differences between these phones. Even the processor is the same.
I just wonder, how can't be possible to adapt a P51 WM6 (or WM5) rom to P50? If they have almost the same hardware, this, theoretically, should be possible, shouldn't it?
I just want to ask you guys to help me do it, I'll use my phone to test it.
That's all. Thank you for reading, I hope you answer soon.
PD: Sorry for my english
please someone... tell me how to edit the P51 rom or something... Or at least tell me that what it want is not possible...
Are you really really sure you can't answer?
sorry!my dear friend. I dont have this device. So……
pls i ve a benq p51 in china lang,i dont know how to fromat d neqw rom on it,pls teach me step by step
I am also having one P50 running on 2003SE, I think because of the ROM there is no space for WM5 or WM6+. There are some websites claiming to upgrade the ROM of the existing devices and I tried to contact some of them but unfortunately, all told me that it is not possible. Despite of lots of problems like Data loss and crapy UI, I still manage to run it with PIM backup & SPB Backup. SPB keyboard V4 works well with it for better typing. Though, recently I bought a Gsmart i128 & upgraded it to WM6.5, with SPB Shell it is giving me Marvelous service, I still love my BenQ P50 because of the Universal IR Remote.

[Q] Games HD on DEFY

Hey, this is my first post in this forum. I´m spanish and my english is very poor but i will try it xD
Well, my answer is how run the latest game like avatar HD, lets golf 2 HD, assassins creed, aphalt 5, nee for speed shift, nova... etc in motorola defy.
I´m thinking of get one in chrismast, but I dont know yet if it has GPU dedicated, because in some pages sais that the defy has omap 3630 (with gpu) and in others sais that has the 3630 (whitout...).
Thanks for the answers and forgive if i´ve said some mistake!
I believe the current consensus is that it's using an OMAP3610 with the OMAP3630's PowerVR GPU.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
Absolutely yes, GPU is present and those games run flawless.
I will not fall into the 3610 vs 3630 discussion again but what i can tell you is that all the games mentioned (except avatar <- i don't know) go smooth, there's no lag at all, and graphics are amazing.
Also note for each of this games there are several versions which are slighty different (actually optimizations for specific devices), be careful to take the proper version.

What good news for me hehehe and for example psx4droid run so good that nexus or desire?
Do you know that with froyo we will can take 720p videos?
Sorry for so many questions but in other foros, and pages i dont find much information about this phone.
Thanks

Hello. Well two days ago, i sent a question to motorola asking if the defy has or not a GPU. And this was his answer in spanish:
"Gracias por ponerse en contacto con Motorola.
Le enviamos un link donde podrá encontrar más especificaciones técnica sobre le Motorola Defy y le confirmamos que el Defy tiene procesador TI OMAP 3610 y no tiene GPU.
gsmarena.com/motorola_defy-3514.php
In english, they say that defy has not GPU... So i dont understand how can run this latest games, the processor is better that the processor of nexus or desire although the defy´s run at 800 Mhz???
With froyo we will can record video at 720p or we would need a better proce?
Thank you and sorry for the double-post

It sounds like a joke... Motorola sent to you a link to gsmarena instead of a link to their own specs page? This is absolutely unreliable.
However, this is the link you're looking for:
http://community.developer.motorola...elopment-resources-available/td-p/7794/page/3
As you can see they confirmed defy has a PowerVR SGX 530 renderer (GPU).
About 720p video recording:
Eclair or Froyo does not matter, it depends by defy's hardware, omap3630 can do it while omap3610 can't.
So, Motorola say 3610 + GPU (check out the link above) but all the "system info" apps tell us there's a 3630 inside.
If you still have doubts take a look here:

I know like you, is very extrange that motorola sends me a link to gsmarena...
OK, in the last link you post it I believe that it has GPU, I hadn´t seen where sais OPEN GL Renderer.
Thanks for the info.
PD: The person motorola that answer my question is complete idiot so...
You're welcome.
In my opinion (just an opinion, nothing sure) should be omap3610 + GPU, not 3630, so you'll have no trouble with games but probably there's no 720p rec available.
You can try asking to Motorola again but be sure to get the answer from another person

I think that with an update we will can record video at 720p, because, for example, with te moto xt08:
developer.motorola.com/products/xt806/
with ti omap3430, that run at 600 Mhz, record video in 720p :S
If you would like to see just how well the defy runs games, search youtube for a video demoing the captivate vs defy vs desire in terms of 3D performance.

I have seen a video of neocore, with galaxy and desire, all with eclair, and galaxy gets 55 fps, defy 44 and desire 28 (or that is what i remember).
In the games, i know that defy will be able to run all of them
thanks.
PD: Have any of you proved de livewallpapers? They run all at full?
I´ve seen some of the galaxy S and are precious. And with my htc hero i can have them, they run very bad because is and old mobile now...

What do you say that is the worst thing of this mobile?
For me is the support of motorola, because this phone should get froyo running in his circuits... But I dont see anymore disadvantage.
Honestly, it's Moto's software implementation and the lack of a super LCD screen that hurts this phone. At the price I paid, I couldn't complain much more.

And of super lcd... is true, for the price of Defy we can´t require more... and the normal LCD is better for the use with sun light...
I play Dungeon Hunter on my Defy and it runs just as fast as my wife's Vibrant. It run's just fine. Good framerate.

According to benchmarks, the defy is very powerful... have you prove another game of gameloft HD?
hi,
do you know if the gpu has the hardware acceleration flash player ?
thanks
@aikidoka90
Do not worry about gameloft games, all of them run really smooth on defy.
@gaetanolip
If i'm not wrong there's no specific hardware acceleration for flash. Once motorola has delivered the update (froyo) we'll have full flash support (software) on our phone.

Galaxy Y graphics capabilities

i am quite surprized :O

i think Galaxy Y has the capabilities to run HD games without Chainfire.. well what do you think?

The good:
Fine crafted design and nice build quality.
Crystal clear display.
Decent performance.
Solid battery life.
The bad:
The display is too dim for outdoor use.
The operating system isn’t the most up-to-date.
Charging is extremely slow.
It is not hard to notice that a new premium Android tablet is a rare occurrence these days. Very few market-leading brands still continue to release Android-based slates, and lots of Chinese manufacturers which used to make affordable tablets have been disappearing during the last 2 years.
User experience on an Android tablet is unarguably no match for that on an Apple iPad. Even after all these years, there are still only a very limited number of Tablet-optimized applications in Google Play Store. And as smartphones are getting bigger and Windows PC/Tablet Hybrid getting smaller and thinner over the years, the future for Android tablets isn’t looking too rosy.
Alldocube is one of the few Chinese companies which are still releasing affordable tablets, even though they do focus more on Windows-based PC/Tablet hybrids these days. The all new X1 tablet is the most premium Android-based tablet Alldocube has released in 2018. With a beautiful design, relatively strong hardware and full 4G Phone functions, it can be a real contender in the shrinking Android tablet world.

Retail Package
The Allcocube ships with gorgeous matte black packaging.
Inside the box you will find a tablet, a wall charger, a USB Type-C cable, a SIM tool, a user manual and a warranty card.
Alldocube has been notorious for not offering a stock wall charger for their Android tablets, so we were a little surprised to find the 5V-2A charger here. However, in an era when fast charging is such a big thing, it’s really a disappointment for Alldocube to use the same charging technology they used 8 years ago.
Design and Build
At first glance, you will soon see that the X1 represents the very best of Alldocube’s industrial design. It is thin, with a flat back and slightly curved sides that make it a pleasure to hold. The metallic unibody build and matte black finish give the tablet an extremely premium look.
The front is dominated by an 8.4-inch LCD display, with small bezels on the left and right sides. The forehead and chin are a little bit bigger as the former hosts an 8MP front-facing camera, an earpiece and a light sensor, while the latter hosts a home button which also has a fingerprint reader built in. Many may argue that the bezel can be a little smaller. In our opinion, we can’t really force the smartphone standards on a tablet, as tablets are still more designed for using with both hands, you will need the extra bezel to rest your fingers while you hold the slate.
The fingerprint reader is quite fast. In terms of speed, the screen was instantly unlocked once my finger touched the button, there was no delay at all. When it comes to accuracy, I felt like it was almost on par with the fingerprint reader on my vivo X20, which is slightly more reliable than my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
The power button and volume rocker are hosted on the right side of the tablet, both keys have pretty decent travel and rebound quickly.
The top side plays host to a 3.5mm headphone jack.
A Type-C port, an SIM port and a single speaker grille are sported on the bottom side.
The SIM tray can host two SIM cards, or you can insert a SIM card and a MicroSD card.
You will also find a 13MP main camera with LED flash on the back. Fortunately, there is no camera bump here, which is a good news for the aesthetics, but it also means the camera here won’t really compete with those on high-end smartphones, we will get to this later in the review.
Alldocube’s products are known for their build quality, and the X1 is no different. The aluminum chassis feels solid and durable, and the unibody design means you won’t find many screws on the slate, I actually have found none. And there is no mold line at all. Putting it next to the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, the X1 absolutely looks like the more premium device.
Display and speakers
The X1 sports an 8.4-inch “black diamond” LCD display manufactured by JDI. It has a resolution of 2560*1600, and a pixel density of 359PPI. The display is extremely sharp and crystal clear, with true-to-life colors, bright whites and deep blacks.
The only criticism I will give the X1’s display is the brightness. Even after turning the brightness level all the way up, the screen on the X1 still looks a little bit dim. Although you won’t have any problem using the tablet under a roof, taking it outdoors can be a challenge. We often struggled to read what’s on the display while using the X1 under sunlight, but we didn’t have the same problem with the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, which also has an LCD panel.
The X1’s bottom-firing speaker can get pretty loud, but while there is plenty of volume, the lack of bass, separation and soundstage is also pretty obvious. There is almost no bass, the vocals sound muddy and veiled, and the treble sounds a little too sharp while playing at a relatively high volume. The built-in speaker is generally fine for watching interviews or news on YouTube, headphones and external speakers are highly recommended for music and movies.
System and apps
The X1 is running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, with Alldocube’s lightly customized skin on top. The Chinese retail edition that I got doesn’t come with Google Play, but Alldocube claims that units sold overseas will have stock Android, with Google Services preinstalled. But Alldocube didn’t say whether or when the X1 would get the Android Oreo update.
Even though Android Nougat is a great phone operating system, far better than any iOS in my opinion. Still, it doesn’t translate well to tablets. Apps you can find in Google Play Store are rarely built for the big screen, and most are blown-up phone apps that don’t utilize the 8.4-inch screen well. Even icons on the home screen look blurry because developers clearly haven’t built them to fit this screen size. If you are coming from an iPad with its fantastic array of specifically designed apps, the X1 definitely feels hamstrung. However, Alldocube is not the one to blame, top tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro suffer from the same problem.
Performance
The X1 is powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor, which has 2 cores of ARM Cortex-A72, 8 cores of Cortex-A53 and Mali-880MP4 GPU. The spec sheet definitely doesn’t read as fancy as those top Snapdragon 845 powered smartphones in 2018, but the X1 still has a lot of power under the hood, arguably more than enough to handle everyday tasks.
In Geekbench 4, the X1 picks up a multi-core score of 4429 – which matches midrange smartphones and even beats high-end tablets such as the Apple iPad Mini 4, which scored 3222 on the same test. The Antutu V6 benchmark test returned a score of 89515, which is also pretty decent as it matches the score of Snapdragon 652 powered mid-range smartphones. In the 3DMARK test, the X1 got okay scores in both Ice Storm and Slingshot tests. It won’t rival he newest smartphones in terms of GPU performance, but it won’t really fail you in your daily routines either.
The eMMc drive inside of the X1 is no match for the UFS storage on high-end smartphones in terms of overall performance, yet according to the Androbench test result, it still has decent speed.
As it is running Android applications, we still occasionally ran into a few hiccups in everyday use, but there was no real delay. And the hiccups we experienced were mainly because of quality of the apps, instead of the hardware of the X1. In fact, the X1 felt as smooth as my Samsung S8 Plus in most scenarios. Whether it was gaming, web browsing, video playback or some photo editing, the X1 never struggled with any task we threw at it. As there is 4GB RAM on board, the X1 could support quite a number of applications running in the background.
Cameras
The X1 has an 8MP selfie camera and a 13MP main camera. Both cameras are actually quite decent. As smartphone cameras are getting so good these days, I don’t really see a scenario where I need to use these tablet cameras. But it is nice to know that you have a reliable back up when your phone runs out of juice.
The camera app on the X1 has a nice UI and lots of options. You can even take PIP (Picture in Picture) photos using both the front and the rear camera at the same time. There are also HDR support, different filters and modes for the user to play with.
In my opinion, the front-facing camera is more important for a tablet as we sometimes do need to video-chat with friends. The 8 mega-pixel, F/2.2 sensor here works fine for that. But selfies taken by it do tend to be over-sharpened, with colors a little too dull and lifeless.
The 13MP, F/2.2 main camera works more like the cameras found on entry-level smartphones. It can take some nice photos given ideal lighting, but the results aren’t always consistent as colors of some shots do tend to appear washed out. If you have a new midrange or top smartphone, you won’t even bother to use the X1’s camera.
Connectivity
The X1 has full phone functionalities and supports all 4G networks. Phone calls generally work very well and you do get decent 4G data reception. With that said, we wouldn’t recommend anyone to use the X1 as your daily driver phone, a normal-size smartphone that can easily fit into your pocket is still a far more convenient choice. As can be expected, there are also dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS on board.
There is 64GB built-in storage, which should be enough for the majority of users. And you can easily expand that with a Micro SD card.
Battery Life
The X1 is powered by a 4500mAh Li-Po battery. In our testing we felt like the X1 had above-average battery life, thanks to the power-efficient SoC. and relatively dim display. It is enough to last a long speed train ride across China if you want to watch a couple of movies and do some social networking. Running a 90-minute HD video at nearly full brightness drained the battery by 15%.
The one thing that has been annoying me about the X1 is the charging speed. With the stock wall charger included in the retail package, it normally takes a whopping 4 hours to fully recharge the slate.
Verdict
Priced at $249.99, the X1 offers a fine crafted design, premium metal build and a beautiful display. And performance-wise it handles everyday tasks much better than the many entry-level slates you can find under $100, yet won’t really lag far behind high-end slates such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro. As user experiences on Android tablets are more or less the same when there is enough processing power under the hood, we don’t really see a point for anyone to buy those $500+ tablets anymore, unless you are someone who wants the best tablet and demands only Android.
If you are still looking for an Android tablet in 2018 and want real value for your investment, the Alldodube X1 is an easy recommendation. But if the price tag is not what ranks on the top of your list when choosing a tablet for entertainment purposes, and you are no die-hard Android fan, you will be much better-off with an Apple iPad. However, if productivity is what you care about most, there are also many affordable Windows PC/Tablet hybrids to choose from.
Charge light or indicator?
Hi! Thank you for the review. I just received my X1 and immediately noticed that there is no type of charging light led etc etc. Do you recall if yours had any type of charge light?
Thanks!

It doesn't have any type of indicator, I have to press the power button to see its charging status on the display.

However, even if I'm not very expert, and even if this X1 / T801 it was impossible for me to even start with TWPR (I had done with other brands but much more known than Alldocube and in addition to TWRP I tried others but with the same result ) and so I was also unable to install Magisk .... in the end I did it thanks to the reading of a, one (1) only, Russian forum (after the tens already read in English but without any result! ) translated by google because I am Italian and the forum is in Russian: (
4pda.ru/forum/lofiversion/index.php?t897317-60.html
) and on page 4, in the point:
"nyukinaliv

Recovery
TWRP 3.2.3, interface English and Chinese
Boot
Boot.img patched by Magisk v18 to get root rights "
I downloaded "Recovery
TWRP 3.2.3 "and I simplified it in the name and modified with the extension .iso then after through" adb and fastboot "I installed it on X1 .... it worked !!! then I unlocked bootloader and after I managed to put also Magisk and then do the root .... but if it was not for the Russians I would certainly not have succeeded and maybe even if I had read dozens of Chinese and English forums...

Hi,
I read that you are Italian, I'm really a novice in this matter and I would be very grateful if you could help me and explain step by step how to do what you described here because I have to admit that unfortunately I did not fully understand. I have an alldocube x1 that I would like to be able to update at least to Oreo 8.1 and hopefully to pie 9. Thank you, Giorgio
Salve,
a presto:
jamma
like the othre android devices, root usually has two methods
1. Use the magisk manager app to modify the boot.img file of the machine, and then use the mtk spflash tool to write the modified boot.img.(you need factory firmware and spflashtool ,and magisk manager app)
2. Use mtk spflash tool to flash twrp for X1, then use twrp to flash magisk zip
I received my Alldocube X1 yesterday and I don't have Play store on it. Tried with Google Installer 2 and 3 but in the middle of the installation the popup comes: "google services framework keeps stopping" and I can do nothing except remove every Google app again. I also tried to delete cache and data files, but nothing helps. Can someone help me?
System Info:
Android 7.1.1
Build Number Y9712.CUBE.T801_2018.10.17_V1.0

I know this is a pretty old post put I hope someone can help. I was wondering if this tablet has a built in barometer? I want to use it for flying my drone in a follow me mode and the barometer will allow my drone to adjust to elevation.
Thanks

anybody knows how to get lineage 17.1, magisk and twrp on ALLDOCUBE X1 ?
I have the 8.1 beta release (sp flash tool version) if anyone wants the link, ive installed it and it all seems good, BUT when watching youtube it crashed to what looks like the old tv interference (gpu crash?), anyway root works, sometimes it lost it after reboot for some reason, i will keep testing
Im not sure who ported this rom over, but my understanding is it got ported and then left, could be wrong
