Flashing Wave S8500 - error Multiloader - Bada Software and Hacking General

Hi everybody,
I have a problem when i tried to flash my S8500 with the latest firmware. After i do all the steps correctly, after i hit the button download....it appears this error:
ERR: Dbl Erase
I want to mention, that now, i can`t flash it with any firmware. The phone is just in the downloading mode.
Please help me with some advises.

ERR: Dbl Erase is usually caused by erratic drivers or wrong MultiLoader/com port.
Also faulty firmware may also be responsible.
Try to reinstall all the kies driver. That is, launch kies, and click to reinstall drivers.
Restart PC. Remove SIM and memory card from phone.
Use MultiLoader_V5.65 to flash.
NB: If you are flashing to bada 2.0 beta firmware, make sure you install the drivers accompanied in the firmware pack. Also make sure you use the included MultiLoader_V5.65 to flash.

I tried to install different firmwares, not just for bada 2.0 only, and for those it gave me the same error.
Of course when i flash the firmware for bada 2.0 i use the drivers included in the pack + MultiLoader from the same pack. (but itwasn`t v5.65)
Actually i use 2 version of Multiloader, after the first error....but in both cases (when i use different version of MultiLoader) it was the same error.
Th only thing i can try now is reinstall drivers using Kies, like you said.
In conclusion faulty f/w it`s not the problem, because i used aprox. 4-5 f/w , from bada 1.0, 1.2 and 2.0.
MultiLoader also can`t be...because i used 2 version for each f/w flash.
I came back with some opinion later, after i try to reinstall drivers and re-flash it.

Reinstall the drivers first. Or better uninstall the whole kies and do a clean installation.
Clean up all files and folders belonging to kies. Leave only the Samsung folder in "Documents" as backup to your applications, PIMS, etc. A clean install may solve the problem.
Best of luck.

Try flash on other pc/notebook.. I also had this problem. I think it because the usb port is kinda faulty.

I do it on 2 different pc...at home and at work..same thing.
Now i hardly wait to get home to try again, counting on your adivises...

Anyways, from yesterday, my phone is in an GSM service.....where they have the same problem.
They told me it can be something from the "boot"....and this is a major problem...

now whenever i try to launch the file, i get an error message that states
"custom RUU has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience."
So im wondering what changed that wont allow me to run the ruu file? Im kinda freaking out here because i need to get my phone working! its constantly crashing on me!
i hope someone knows a fix for this, i tried to search but came up with nothing

Maybe that will help you.

Ok, first off, this is not a flame. It's an education, ok?
When posting a problem, it's best practice to let us know your:
Model of phone
Radio version
Boot Loader version
OS on your PC
ActiveSync version (s/b 4.5 by now)
Then, and only then, will you be able to get some intelligent answers. You also need to follow the link in my signature and there you will find answers.
If you're still stuck, usually re-downloading the RUU will result in a working ROM patch, unless you have other PC issues. You really need to fix that first, and the guides posted here are FULL of the diagnostic and troubleshooting steps that will propel you to a successful resolution.
Please read those posts, add your info, and you may be extremely pleased with the results.
Good reading!

First off; relax. At least the problem isn't with your phone. It's a heck of a lot easier to fix a PC.
I assume you've already tried to re-download the file?
Did you completely reboot your PC? Shut it down to power down, then restart. Make sure you don't have any extra USB stuff plugged in (like cameras, etc). If you have a PS/2 mouse and KB, use those, and not USB versions. One trick is to have the USB bus on your computer completely empty except for your phone.
Head over to Microsoft's site and download a fresh version of Compact Framework .NET (3.0 is the current version). Reboot after installing it -- even though it doesn't tell you to.
Run Windows Update. Make sure you're OK on those.
If that doesn't work, try downloading another ROM (OS only) -- like the Cingular Black 2.02 or the LVSM ROM, and see if that works.
You can also strip it apart -- use WinRAR to open the EXE file that you've been executing and extract the .nbh file from the EXE. Then go and download this guy: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_CustomRUU and extract it into its own folder. Copy that .nbh file into that directory, and execute the executable -- it will flash your phone with a known good flasher.
But.... stepping all of the way back ... if the ROM doesn't work on your phone, it's very likely reflashing it won't help a single bit. Those ROM's are checksummed when they go on the phone -- if they're corrupted, they won't load right in the first place (and you'd end up with a boot-loader only phone). Soo... uh.. first, reboot/clean USB, then try a different ROM.
Last resort will be completely reinstalling Windows XP. I've had to do this several times because Windows will get in some weird state and it refuses to flash my phone. I finally gave up and started flashing on my Mac using a Windows virtual machine -- it's a lot easier to restore my Windows system to a working point when I do that.
Thanks to everyone who gave a response!
Here's all the information i was asked to post ( i will remember this for next time)
Cingular 8525 HERM100
Radio version: 1.40.30.00
Boot Loader version: (Not quite sure what this is?)
OS on your PC: Pro Black 2.0
ActiveSync version 4.5
I have redownloaded the ruu about 3 times and it has failed everytime.
Restarted the PC, disconnected everything from my laptop, realized that i havent installed Framework .NET 3.0, ( although i have it on my phone as i needed it to run hitchhiker)
So i'm going to download framework .NEt 3.0 and run it.
As for my phone, i uninstalled all the apps, hard resetted and everything is working fine right now, hasn't froze at all since yesteray, so im going to wait it out and see if something happens again.
Thanks again to everyone!! This forum is really really helpful.

You need to have a look at your user guide, as it states how to enter bootloader and check the version. Otherwise press and hold the left OK button and the power button at the same time, then hit the reset button with your stylus. You will enter a tri-color screen. This is bootloader mode. Jot down the numbers and compare against the below link.
Exiting is simple, press the reset button with your stylus.
Here's a valuable link for updating your bootloader.
Bootloader Version: SPL-1.40.01pro

i just tried to install Framework .NET 3.0 and got this error message

You're probably missing version 2.0 of the .NET framework. .NET Framework is to be left in place once installed. You should have left V 2.0 installed and added .NET 3.0. Go to www.microsoft.com/net and get version 2.0 redistributable re-installed on your machine. (If you can). If you cannot, search the KB and you may get by without rebuilding your OS.
"Head over to Microsoft's site and download a fresh version of Compact Framework .NET (3.0 is the current version). To be extra safe, go into Add/Remove Programs and uninstall any existing versions -- reboot -- then install the new CF Framework. Reboot after installing it -- even though it doesn't tell you to."
this is the advice i was given in this thread, so i uninstalled version 2.0 before installing version 3.0.
So am i screwed now? lol
Well, version 3.0 just installed successfully... does that mean i still need to install 2.0? or am i fine just running 3.0?
Sorry for all the questions, i just want this fixed :/
You should be good. Give it a go.
If not, just dl .Net CF2 and install that. I think you are fine now though.
Edit: never mind
version 2.0 installed fine
Thanks everyone

Flashing Guide For Noobs (Text/Images/Video)

Okay I Have Noticed Everywhere that most of the guys don't really know how to flash their phones and because of this they end up with their phones being bricked
so i decided to write a tutorial that will be tailored for the noobs!
Okay Now Here Are The Things you must keep in mind before flashing
First Of All , for a safe installation you need to check your phone's battery is not less than 20% because the flashing process takes about 17% of your battery
Then its compulsory to backup your essential data through Samsung Kies!!
Never touch, use , operate the phone whilst it is being flashed
Never operate the computer between the flashing process or the flashing will be slowed down
You need to have a alot of pateince for this
The fota is not necessary for flashing it can be left out
Do not blame me of the brick of your phone, i did my level best to explain you
Things you need:
Multiloader 5.65 is the best for flashing bada 2.01, but other versions work just fine with bada 1.x
A bada rom, which you can get from SamFirmware
Patience a lot of it
PROCEDURE:
Firstly extract the downloaded rom
Then examine the files carefully, and delete the *.fota file
Now if you are flashing bada 2.0 open multiloader 5.65 if not any other version is okay
Okay now after opening it tick the "Boot change" and the "Full Download"
Then click on the boot, this will open a explorer window then select the bootfiles folder
then click amss, this will open the explorer again then navigate to the amss.bin file in the rom
do this with all other fields but not for "fota", "tune", "PFS", "ETC"
then after this is done, take out the sim and memory card that is in the your phone
then go to download mode by using this combination Volume Down+Lock Key+Power Key, this will take you to download mode
then connect your phone with the PC through the cable
click port search
after the search is done, the feild just below the PORT SEARCH button will be filled with this "Ready [LISMORE]"
then click download
now if you are flashing bada 2.0 , then just after the multiloader flashes the bootfiles the phone will restart in the download mode
but the multiloader will not detect it, and this is normal
then a message will appear in multiloader that phone not detected , this is normal
so you can exit it now, trust me nothing will happen, but DONT disconnect the phone!!!!!!!
in the meanwhile the PC will be installing new drivers of the Phone and this will take a while depending on the internet connection because it will be downloading the drivers
after the installation of drivers is done
open again the Multiloader and repeat the steps of selecting the rom files
then again click port search
again this Message will appear "Ready [LISMORE]"
Then click "Download" now the flashing process will go smoothly
During the flashing process DO NOT turn off the Computer and neither the Phone
After the flashing is done this message will appear in the sidebox "All files completed"
Disconnect the phone, A blue screen will appear after the Samsung Wave Screen, this is normal and do not turn the phone off during this process also
The phone will again restart after this message will appear on the screen "OK Restart Now"
And Voila You got the new Rom In Your Wave!!
Thank Me, If This helped me!
Video will be coming soon!
•Then examine the files carefully, and delete the *.fota, and (mid).rc1 file•Now if you are flashing bada 2.0 open multiloader 5.65 if not any other version is okay
•Okay now after opening it tick the "Boot change" and the "Full Download"
Above i marked in red can u plz explain...
1. why to delete those files
2.many site says dont tick Boot change
Thanks in adavance..

sorry do not delete the *.rc1 file but yes fota can be deleted .... the reason is that deleting is not necessary , but you still dont be needing it anyway! because its of no use!
no boot change has to ticked strictly , because bada 2.0 and bada 1.x have different bootfiles so boot change is necessary!
no boot change has to ticked strictly , because bada 2.0 and bada 1.x have different bootfiles so boot change is necessary!
FYI, i flashed successfully to bada 2.0 without ticking boot change and also it is running from last 4-5 days without any issue..(As usual msg bug and known bugs in bada 2.0 are there)...
yeah no need to tick boot change if you ticked already the full download, coz once we ticked the full download, boot change tab is grayish w/c means deactivated.

Urgent help needed...download mode blinking

Friends,I recently flashed my wave 2 s8530 to bada 2 and yesterday when i tried to flash it june update indian firmware(s8530 DDKF1) ,the flashing failed midway.I was getting rsrc1 erase error.I tried to flash it again still d error didn't go.After some time my phone showed "SOFTWARE UPDATE FAILED" error. Now i can't even enter the download mode. When i try,the download mode comes and after 5 sec the screen becomes blank or d software update error shoots up...I dont know what to do and I dont want to give it to the service center because i need the cell in working condition by sunday...Please help.
Try these options:
1. Make sure all necessary drivers are installed.
2. USe the correct version of multiloader to flash (flashing back from a different bada version usually has problems with multiloader v5.62 e.g. erase error).
3. Remove battery from phone for a mimumum of 10 minutes. Then insert battery again. Please borrow a fully charged battery from a friend (as yours obviously cannot be charged now).
4. Try flashing again.
Best of luck.

SM-P607T stuck in 4.4.2

Hello everyone,
i bought the SM-P607T during my deployment in Afghanistan over Ebay USA . Spending my time there i tested the device and installed all updates etc. Back in Germany just my wife used it. Some weeks ago i noticed that an update to Lollipop should be avaible so i took the device to bring it up to date and i noticed some problems.
(Please note that i am just a noobie to flashing and rooting android and just follow guides to get to my goal.)
1. Device only loading while shut down. (After rooting and installation of TWRP it strangely started to load while on again even on PC USB connection)
2. Its not possible to connect the device with any PC.
3. OTA updates stop at around 27% and fail (KitKat 4.4.4)
[In TWRP shown
"E: Error executing updater binary in zip /data/fota/update.zip
E: Error installing zip file /data/fota/update.zip"]
Strange enough that the update info shown in android is Chinese Version
Tried to get some support with Samsung Europe but unfortunately they say US device US problem......
So what did i do in the meantime
1. Tried different loading devices frome Samsung and 3rd party companys. No changes.
2. Tried several different data cables to connect to 4 different PC. Even the one wich worked good with my Honor7 or the Galasy S4 mini dont do with the 607
3. My last try to fix this problem was to change the USB charging dock completely. Also didn´t change anything.
4. Now the step where i am currently stuck. I managed to root the device and install TWRP(v2.8.7.0) . Now tried to install Version P607TUVUBOI2 via SD Card.
Just followed diffenrent Guides on youtube and forums but im stuck at this.
Here is the message i got in TWRP recovery:
"Installing /external_sd/1/TMB-P607TUVUBOI2-20510930112901.zip
Checking for MD5 file....
Skipping MD5 check : no MD5 file found
Error flashing /external_sd/1/TMB-P607TUVUBOI2-20510930112901.zip
updating partition details......
Checked the *.zip on my PC there was just this file in: P607TUVUBOI2_P607TTMB1BOI2_P607TUVUBOI2_HOME.tar.md5
Downloaded the file from a different source again with same result
It would be very nice if someone is capable to help me with this and give me a hint what i possibly did wrong (Please do not mention not to buy in the US). For me it doesnt matter if i got a rooted or not routed version to install my main goal is to get rid of 4.4.2 . The problem with the not working USB connection is the biggest show stopper for me.

I really confused about your description? you using twrp to flash a .zip rom? then you mentioned about .md5 rom on your pc? how did you flash? With .md5 rom you need to use Odin to flash. Can you boot into download mode (hold down volume down + Home buttons then press power button)? If you able to boot to download mode, your pc should able to see the device and you would use Odin to flash the .md5 rom from your pc to the device. Also where did you download the .zip rom?
