[Q] XDA IIs power button ways - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hello, so I have old blue angel device (XDA IIs) and power button broke(it's not on the plate). I have soldered button from nokia, but button doesn't seem to work.(button physicaly is ok) 2 tracks on the pcb are broken(2 last ones) if someone has schematics, or knows power button ways, maybe you can give me a photo with them? in the worst case I think photo of pcb where's power button, and other side in macro mode(HQ) would be enough.
UPDATE: Thanks for help everyone(sarcasm). Managed to repair myself.

Power button problem

i have a I-mate PDA2K version of the blue angel, but my power button wont work if pressed once(its supposed to turn the display off) but when pressed and held, it works(turning the backlight off but not the display).
When the device is off(no display) the power button responds right away when pressed. can somebody help me?thanks..
Same problem. Have you found an answer to this?
It seems to be a Hardware fault common on the BA. For now until i get the time to trace it. I use PHM tools and route the button in front of the power button to suspend after installing PHM tools.
What is PHM tools? Can I use PHM tools to assign Power button functions to another button?
I got a new problem. Now I can't power it ON. If I could only remap power button to Record or Media Player button (they seem to be the same...) maybe I could get by another 3 years...

[Q] Atom Life wake up with other buttons

I used to have an XDAII (the very first) where the unit could be woken up by pressing any button. There was a setting in the control panel that allowed you to set it to only recongnize the power button or have the other buttons wake it up. Naturally I set it to the power button, but after a while, that button got worn down and stopped "working" so I naturally set it to recognize any other button.
This experience has taught me the hard way, that its a good choice to have (or maybe even a necessity in some cases) that other buttons to wake the unit up in case of situations like this.
I've just bought an Atom life and unfortunately it ONLY recognizes the power button to wake the unit up. Is there any hack or software out there that could enable the other buttons (or better yet, allow selection of which buttons can turn the unit on)?
I'd like to use the large middle button on the front if possible, since that button seems more "sturdy" than the power button. I may be able to save that poor power button from years of wear and tear.
just realized i posted in the wrong section. Moderators, feel free to move it to the parent Atom section, and my sincerest apologies
Hi, nargalzius
I have been search for decade, but i still cannot find the way to assign other button for waking up da device......
same problem here...
anybody out there figured this one out already?
bump
did anybody find a hack for this?
I have just the opposite problem. I use the headphones that come
with the Atom Life - the button on it not only turns on the device.. if
you bang the mouth piece on something (without hitting
the button), it turns it on too!! I'd love a solution to that
I use O2 Flame and got the same setting, no other hard key than the power button can wake up the device from sleep. Anyone knows the tricks or registry hacks, please share. Thank you very much.
Atom Life Wakeup Button
Hi guys, there doesn't seem to be an answer on here and I assume the reason is as follows - Atom Life also wakes up by pressing the "end" key... (I think this is a general hardware setup)
I was also a bit weary of the power button being worn out, so I did some experimentation and found that the end button works a treat if you have the same concern "end - s2u"... swweeet!
Hope this helps.

Click to collapse
You mean when the phone is in standby mode and you press the END key, the phone will come out of standby? Beats the whole purpose of standby then
I do echo the same "problem" of not being able to change the mapping of the power button to the front button.. ( as I was able to do with my XDA II)
I 'm confused about the "end" key solution..
Anyone finding a solution ?
Thank you all
Nearest program might be MORT saver? it allows you to specify the button that put the device in to MORT stand by and therefore the same button that will awake the device. Not exactly the power button option that you talk of wanting but at least MORT also stops the device from waking up when any of the buttons around the action button are pressed.

Problem with nav button and red receiver button

Hi,
I've got problems with these two buttons:
- the downward direction in navigation button is not "clicking", it stucked, doesn't move at all.
- the red receiver button "clicks" but there's no effect on the phone.
I have opened BA ang managed to check out the button board. The metal circle which corelates with downward button doesn't clikck and the red one looks fine.
In this case would changing button board fix the problem? Other buttons work fine.
How much more or less cost button board? Is it possible to find used one?
Cheers.

[Hardware] What's broken?

Hi.
What part needs replacing when my power and volume increase/decrease button doesn't work. I'm thinking its this "HTC Desire HD Motherboard Flex Cable"(Google it because i'm not allowed to post links as new user) part that is broken.
I would like your input on the problem.
Full Regards.
Not sure aboot the power button but the volume button is controlled by part of the motherboard.
Sent from my Nokia 6230i with power locks and power windows.
