[Q] Xperia Arc on T-mobile 3g - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay I have been confused on this matter since the release of this phone. I have searched this forum and honestly cannot find the answer so please don't begin to leave rude messages
My main question is which model of this phone is working on T-mobile 3g
I have read in some threads through google that LT51i is working for t-mobile 3g but i read the specs and it only supports the 900/2100 3g freq which does not work for t-mobile back here in the states. I know it requires the AWS frequency of 1700/2100
Now on a side note I have seen only a limited amount of information that the Docomo verison of the Xperia Arc is working on t-mobiles 3G network.
Can someone please clarify what is true and what is not so I can obtain the correct phone to use here in the states? I have an International version of the HTC Incredible S and I love the phone other than the fact it goes through countless shut-downs and reboots through out the day which made me give up on HTC products. I have owned countless sony ericsson phones since the k800i which was awesome. Since I got to the x10 I was disappointed with performance and lack of support. So Im hoping what I have read that sony supports this phone more than the X10 was makes me interested in getting it.
Thank you

Well here's what my 30 second google search found - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116325, should help.

That explained nothing of it being workable with T-mobile and had little relevant information thanks your the inquiry though bro

So Do I!!!!
I have the same issue with my Xperia Arc Lt15i and T Mobile.
Please Help, you are the experts..

I am on T-Mobile in the Netherlands and visited the US in May, my Arc worked all the time and I think it was using the US T-Mobile when it was available.

None of the 2011 series of Xperia phones has the AWS band required for T-Mobile US 3G (UMTS/WCDMA/HSPA) network. They will work on T-Mobile 2G only.

Question on Tmobile Version of HTC Touch Pro2

I have a T-Mobile Version of HTC Touch Pro 2.
Can somebody please confirm if this mobile will work with 3G Asian Bands ??
or
In simple words, can i use the 3G Feature available in countries like India or Singapore with the T-Mobiles version of HTC Touch Pro 2 ???
Please advise !!!!
PS : And forgive me if this question is a repeat from earlier threads. I read few threads. But i didnt see a definite answer for this.
AFAIK T-Mobile TP2 uses UMTS 1700/2100.
According to http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/cou_in.shtml there is no 3G network in India yet.
And for Singapore http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/cou_sg.shtml 3G is available on 2100.
3G in India
Yes - We do have 3G services in India. Iam not even looking at the link that you gave.
Iam quiet sure, BSNL India is offering various 3G services from Corporate Services to DATA transfer services.
I may be wrong, But to my knowledge, we do have 3G servies here for over 12 months...
I agree... I can't see India not having 3G. Sounds like the GSM alliance needs to update their site.

Well, their site also says that T-Mobile doesn't have 3G.
Wikipedia Data
Data from Wikipedia -

This is my understanding...
T0 my knowledge,
Universal 3G Standard is UMTS2100. Tmobile Touch Pro 2 supports that anyway.
Not just for US, But also for most of the other countries UMTS2100 is a standard 3G path.
IT SHOULD WORK FINE ACROSS THE WORLD. UK VODAPHONE provide 3G access via UMTS2100. I havent read the details for BSNL 3G service in India, becos i didnt find the details anywhere ! But one of my friend who bought a same Tmobile's Android version phone works fine with BSNL's 3G. Iam quiet sure BSNL uses the same thingy....
And to quote another example, 3 Top mobile operators in Singapore (ASIA) --- * Mobile One, * StarHub and * Singapore Telecom Mobile Pvt. Ltd., offer 3G at UMTS 2100.
As a matter of fact, with respect to design - Tmobile offering of Touch Pro 2 is more reliable and more sturdy than the original version of TP2. It is just the fanciness that takes lead for the original version which are more prone to scratches.
I may be wrong.... Please let me know if you have more details and correct me if iam wrong................

T-Mobile version has band I and IV, that it can be used in Asia.

[Q] Using the TM GSII on other Networks

Hello guys!
I have a international I9100 and I live in Brazil. I'm looking forward to buying the TM GSII for a girl to use here, since it is cheaper then the I9100 and has a bigger screen.
What I know:
It is technically capable of running here, both the GSM and 3G frequencies.
I can install CM7 (when ready) and forget everything about something locked.
You can unlock the olders USA's Galaxy S.
What I want to know:
Is it locked for T-Mobile?
Can I unlock it using a Samsung ROM?
Can I use a International GSII ROM and only the Kernel from the TM GSII?
I will update this post with the answers to properly share with everybody.
I really appreciate it! Thanks!

is it possible to enable SimpleMobile/ T-Mobile 3G/4G HSPA+ on your AT&T

hi everyone , is it possible to enable SimpleMobile/ T-Mobile 3G/4G HSPA+ on your AT&T phone like ours (captivate glide) .for example flash a t-mobile modem(radio) on this phone
I came across this site and he did it for Samsung Note
http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...e-3g4g-hspa-on-your-att-galaxy-note-sgh-i717/
if this possible can anyone point me how to start working on it
I read this I think all it means is you can buy this unlocked but you won't get t mobiles 4g but if you do this you can so I doubt there is anything for the glide someone correct me if I'm wrong
[Edit] it may be possible considering they are both Samsung but you will need an unlocked glide
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I927R using XDA
Not yet, Tmo 4g is currently on a different frequency the radio in the i927 doesn't use, but rumor has it they're going to utilize 800mhz (current 2g spectrum) for 4g by the end of the year since their 2g is way under utilized at the moment...
what about 3g is it still possible ?
yeah im talking about after the fact of unlocking

New Xperia Play - Internation Phone - Wont Work On Koodo Ontario/Canada!?

Hi,
First off ive been doing some research about the phone, maybe not enough.
I ordered one off Amazon.ca...It said r800i (unlocked) I thought, Great! i can pop my SIM from Koodo and itll run smooth and ill have everything I want and maybe soon ill start upgrading it too..
I received the phone today, I was so happy, but my SIM wont catch. Noones will.. not from Rogers, Wind, Bell, or other Koodo Members..
I hope I did not make a grave error in ordering this phone, it cost me some coin but I was totally thinking it would be worth it...
please please tell me there is something I can do to make this damn thing work on my carrier or even any other from the area..
Is there anybody here who may have had the same issue.. ??
Is there anybody from Toronto who has an Xperia and may be able to assist??
:S:S:S:S lol fml

Yours truly,

Do you mean that you don't have any signal at all or just the internet/MMS don't work?
No its not accepting my Sim.. half the time it won't even register that its there..theres no unlock code for the sim either..
it'll say something like this network is unavailable to you and all that it provides is access to emergency calls only... :s
Your phone does not support Koodo's frequency
R800i works on 900MHz and 2100MHz
R800a works on 800MHz 850MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz
Koodo does not support the 900MHZ + 2100MHZ frequency. Koodo only uses the 850MHz and 1900MHz so if you purchased a R800a Xperia play then it would work.
I do not believe any CAN carriers will work with the R800i. I may be wrong but check out this thread;

I am 100%. I posted in the other thread that you also created.

Legit.
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Like people have said r800a will work, and for the record r800i does work in Canada. The problem is it doesnt support the frequency used for 3g here, and since Telus/Koodoo don't use 2g towers you'll get no signal. I know Rogers/Fido works (since its what I have), not sure about Bell, and I think Virgin uses Telus towers.

The r800i did not connect to Several attempts of Rogers Sim cards.
It does not pick up on any of the carriers in toronto area.
Im hoping that the r800a that I ordered will in fact grab my SIM as I am already frustrated and just want the phone.

Using Your Xperia M Abroad

I just moved to Canada and can't use my phone so much here. I bought it in Europe. One person working for a network here said that if it's bought in Europe, then it's a GSM version only and only Rogers and Fido support that. I'm so surprised. I thought the phone was quadband? I thought all smartphones were tri or quadband?
Has anyone else had this issue? Is it true what the shop person said? Other people with other networks said it definitely won't work on their network. But It is a factory unlocked phone...:crying:
I have the C1905 version. I see on eBay the US/Candian one is C1904. Maybe I'll buy a cheap C1904? How can I be sure? I don't want to waste money. I asked Sony and they basically said they 'can't be sure'.
As far as I know, only 3G network frequencies differ between C1904/C2004 and C1905/C2005. In 2G network it should work fine, since all variants are quadband...

I have looked into this and that is indeed the problem, 3G is the only spectrum that doesn't work. Having just moved abroad AND chosen a plan with data included, I really needed Google Maps. Oh well. It's a big surprise with this phone. I'll have to buy a new one so I can access data again.
