I was wondering if there are any go to screen proctectors? Any to avoid, like do any cause issues with the touch screen?

I'd avoid the hard plastic static-type. They're difficult to put on without dust. I've been using the ones from clearprotector (.com). 50% off and free ship with the code iwantultra (have it memorized cause I've gotten several). The corners and edges are kind of a ***** to get on, but they work well and come with a lifetime warranty (or so they say...). This is a wet-application so don't use them unless you're willing to take the time to watch the youtube videos to learn how to install, and then takes about 20 minutes to install.
I get mine from www.bestskinsever.com. I've had no problems with them. The screen protector is easy to apply and very durable.
I have Ghost Armor on mine and like it, it is a bit smoother than Zagg or Bestskinsever.
Be warned if you want the full body protection, adding this to the back of my tab caused me to have the newton ring problem. I never had the problem with just the screen protector on, I should I have just stuck with the screen and not the entire thing but I really wanted the matte back on my tab.
Thanks fellas. I have and used to do/use the wet application ones for a while. Then I got tired of them and just went with the cling ones. I think I'll get the wet app and it should last a longgg time. Especially since Im not going to be using the tab every day.
I went with Clarivue on the recommendation of a friend.
It's decent enough, no tackiness or anything like that but it's not the best fitting, could've been a couple of mm wider and taller.
Other than that, whilst I've had a long-standing dislike for them, recently I've found Zagg's InvisibleShield protectors to be pretty decent - they seem to be very well fitted and the tacky feel to them that I remember doesn't seem as noticeable.
Kinda wish I'd gone with them for my Tab
Which would you guys say offers the smoothest screen experiences of all? I don't care about longevity as I only use my tab about once every 2 weeks

I was never a fan of the "wet" applications, to me it just seemed like too much work and I was never comfortable spraying any type of liquid all over my devices, regardless of how harmless they might be.
But anyway, this is a clear, non-matte protector that is the "static cling" kind of application. Once it goes on properly, you cannot see that is even there. The touch feeling is the same as if you had no protector on. I really feel that those matte ones, while they do reduce sun-glare, a lot of them provide a "tacky" feeling that maybe is fine for a smaller screen such as a phone, but can become very annoying for a larger screen if you do a lot of swiping across the larger surface area of a tablet. But that is a personal thing....I usually don't use my tablet outside in the bright sun anyway, so the matte types are useless for me.
I've had it on since the end of July and it's held up very well. You do have to wipe the smudges off the screen occasionally, but you'd have to do that anyway even with no protector. I'm extremely satisfied with these.
So I've got an Invisible Shield en route for my Tab, will post back when it arrives.

I just bought the glare-reduction screen protector from BodyGuardz. Has anyone else had any experience with them? I wanted something that would offer a decent amount of protection for the screen (fingerprint and physical pressure), but also not reduce the touch sensitivity at all. (I type with the tip of my nose since I can't use my fingers, and trying to press too hard hurts )
Not sure where you can get it, but here in Singapore there's a brand called DataFlex and their screen protectors seem really good.
I bought SGP steinheil shield ultra optics. I liked it.

So this newton ring issue is a major problem. What if I just protect the back and leave the screen open? I have the new logitech keyboard case on the way and the front is protected in the case, but the back is exposed. I planned on protecting the back only. But I wont do anything if it'll case the newton rings.

Yeah. Same here. Just want a more "grippy" back. How does one produce Newton Rings from the back of the device. Methunked it was a display issue resulting from the interaction of the protector and display glass...kinda by definition...
Hopefully we'll find out soon. I just want to protect the back.

I blame the install of the rear skin because I had the screen skin installed first and then three weeks later I had the rear done. He turned the tab face down and installed the skin. When he turned it over, bam, Netwon Rings...
I never had them before the front screen protector, during the front screen protector install or after the front protector was on the Tab.
Will it happen to you? I have no idea but from what I have read about the problem it is caused because of the Tab moving/flexing which can be caused by excessive heat and certain handling of the Tab.

I bought an anti-glare protector from Cellularbuy on eBay and managed to get it on in one go with no dust at all. The protector fits perfectly and the camera and light sensor holes line up spot on. The anti-glare makes the screen look a little grainy, but I hear that even the Steinhell ones that are many times more expensive have the same problem.
This has been gone over millions of times on each forum here, but here's how I did it:
-Wipe the screen down with a soft cloth and glasses cleaner or isopropyl to get any grease off
-Run the shower in a small bathroom on hot until the room is unbearably steamy
-Put on a hat to keep your hair and head funk from falling on the screen
-Line the protector up on the screen before removing the film and tape it on one side with a few pieces of Scotch tape
-Also make a "handle" out of tape to put on the top of the protector opposite the taped-down end. This will help with alignment
-Go into the bathroom and clean the screen with a good microfiber cloth. Also clean the front and back protective sheets on the film so there's no dust to come off when you start peeling them. The steam should be enough to wet it. Take one final look
-Peel the protector back and lay it down pulling the taped edge taut to keep it lined up
-Smooth any bubbles out with a credit card BEFORE peeling the top sheet off
IF you do have any dust, use a piece of tape on a corner to lift up the protector and another piece of tape to pick up the dust. If the room is steamy enough and you did a good job of wiping the screen this shouldn't happen.

I know that I want a PET or other glass-like screen protector. Generally speaking, I never used screen protectors because they never really held up all that well and on top of that they never had the feel or look of the real thing. Now I have a scratch on my screen that is not normally visible, but I know its there.
I have run into a debacle because I know that while I am good at putting on screen protectors, I am no expert and the PET ones are harder to get perfect than the rubbery ones (which I now despise). So, recently I have seen that there are some PET/Silicone/ Electrostaic Hybrid screen protetctors and then there are still the PET with Adhesive.
Does anyone have experience with the electrostatic type and how good are they at staying on and bubbles?
I have no idea what is PET, or the different types. However, if you are talking about the one I got:

my experience is that this has great clarity, can get bubbles during applications, and they rarely come off by itself. On the many devices I've used this type of protector on, only one came off. It started in one corner, and over the course of a month with gradual lint build up the screen protector eventually got ruined. I could've washed it and reapplied for that month, but I had a spare so I was lazy. You can reapply the protectors as needed to get the application right. The bubbles that occur aren't the same as the rubbery kind. Air bubbles can easily be pushed out after application. The problem is dust that prevent the protector from adhering to screen, causing a little bubble. If the dust is really small, the bubble goes away over a day. Or, like me, you can live with it. You try getting something the size of an iPad dust free.

Ok, as a preface I have owned and used screen protectors before.
I had an iPhone before the EVO and used the Griffin Ultraclear hard Protetctors ad the PowerSupportUSA products of every variety on my previous iPod products (iPod Mini 1G, 4G, Nano 1G, 5G, Shuffle 1G, Touch, iPhone) not to mention an invisible shield one or two. I gave up on the films towards the end of my Touch ownership. They always felt horrible and I could never get one absolutely perfect (didn't help that they usually were not perfectly cut).
For the Evo, I tried the InvisibleShield the first day because I remembered just how well the InvisibileShield had held up on my 5G. Well I think that they have changed the formula, or rather that 3M has since then because the smooth feel and smooth look of the original are most definitely gone. The new variety is rubbery (even after days of use) and is not cut well enough to be a perfect fit (it never covered edge to edge). So i skipped it. Well it seems that with this large of a glass screen, you are much more liable to getting scratches (versus using and unprotetcted iPhone/Touch screen) and I got a few ultra hairline ones that are barely if ever visible to the naked eye and just knowing that they are there bothered me. So I needed to think of getting a screen protector.
Seeing as how air moves and its nearly impossible to get a screen protectors on without any bit of dust, I decided on getting the electrostatic variety so that I could rinse if it came off or needed to be reapplied.
I bought These: Electrostatic Screen Protector - Clear Hard
- Hard variety (PET)
- Very Clear
- Silicone Layer (helps the scratches and dents heal themselves and give sturdiness to the PET)
- Electrostatic layer (holds the screen protector onto the phone)
Six pack delivered for $4? I could do much worse.
Well as it turns out, they are PERFECTLY cut and cover every inch of screen and no more. It went on smooth as butter and I got no bubbles or dust or fingerprints or anything (used a credit card to smooth it down). These were by far the easiest I have had. Not only that, but the electrostatic holds on just as strong as the sticky variety and will not get the gunk on the sides sticking to it! I have taken my TPU case on and off a bunch and had no lift whatsoever. As a bonus, THEY SHOW FINGERPRINTS MUCH LESS THAN THE GLASS SCREEN DOES!
So at $0.65 each, they are killer and having a few backups is nice as well as giving one to a friend.

Thanks for that post. I'm expecting my EVOs (I ordered 2) in within the next week. I've been trying hard to find cases and screen protectors without much luck, but I'm going to go ahead and order those screen protectors you mentioned since you recommend them.
Yep i ordered the same ones and love them. i have loved these from the start. they are quite easy to put on and stay on well.
Scotch tape is your friend in getting screen protectors on without a bit of dust

I have a steinheil ultra crystal protector on my EVO, and its static. As long as you make sure there is no debris under it, it will stay on for a long time with no lifting. I have shown my phone to quite a few people, and not one of them can tell I have a screen protector on it. Even when I point it out to them, they still cant see it. It's very thin and I applied it perfectly so their a no bubbles. Took me about 30 minutes to get it perfect. If you use a piece of scotch tape to pick up debris under it, that works pretty good. This biggest thing is to make sure your edges are perfectly clean. Even the slightest bit of debris under one of the edges of the screen protector, and it wont be long before it starts peeling. I'm very satisfied with my steinheil. Going on 5 weeks now and it looks flawless. Id take a picture but you wouldnt be able to see it anyways. I thought it was a scam spending $13 on a screen protector! I used to order them from china for 50 cents. well, never doing that again! I've only ever used 1 adhesive type screen protector, and it was terrible. the clarity was awful.

I cannot stand the installation procedure needed for the screen protectors. Every single time: I use the "provided micro fiber" cloth to remove dirt and lint and the apply. EVERY TIME I am left with tiny lint,, micro specs of air dust etc. between the film and the screen, and a small little bubble here and there. It drives me crazy. Call me obsessive compulsive but it take me about 3 screen protectors until I finally get it right. Anyone aware of any screen protection technology that will help me avoid this outcome?
I don't, but I did read that if you apply it in the bathroom after running hot water and steaming it up real good that it will help that problem a lot. I plan to try that when I get my first screen protector this week.

Hard type screen protectors will solve your bubble issues. Martin Fields screen protectors is pretty much impossible to have bubbles stuck inside it.
However it won't solve your dust problem. If anything, it's much easier to see dirt and other imperfections stuck between the screen and a Martin Field protector.
Or you could try one of the crystal screen protectors from boxwave. I had your problem too with my first 2 screen protectors, and it seemed that I couldn't just get them on there without a problem. With this one from boxwave, I just wiped it off with the provided micro-fiber cloth and used the bubble-elimination card to remove any possible bubbles under the screen!

Get the ones from ATT. I have tried Bodyguardz, Zagg, Stealth Guards, and some generic BS from eBay. All of those were the type you apply with the solution (and have that dreaded orange peel look) and you have to wait for it to "cure" and it is extremely easy to get bubbles stuck in them.
The ones from ATT on the other hand, are completely smooth and truly invisible. They are a stiffer material and you do not need application solution. I am very happy with them and for 9.99 you get 3 of them. If you mess one up by getting some lint on it or whatever, you can just wash it with soapy water and spray it down with some water+baby soap and re apply it that way. Very easy to get the air bubbles out that are caused by using the solution. Again, they can be installed with no solution at all and if done carefully, it should look like nothing was ever installed on the phone

I got them from a local store for 7$ since I got a discount. Those above ^^ from BoxWave seem extremely over priced. For 10$ you can't go wrong with the ones from ATT.
I am using clarivue not even a single dust, lint, inside. It's the quick and easy 3 layer type screen protectors.
Here's a tip ... go to the bathroom and turn on hot water on sink or whatever to create humidity that would trap the dust or w/e in the air ... and it makes this easier to apply.
I haven't had a screen protector on my Vibrant in almost 2 months now & even with constantly putting it in my pocket with my keys, dropping it once onto my driveway & even fumbling it into bouncing off a brick wall one time I have yet to scratch my screen. The rest of the phone is dented & scratched but the screen is still beautiful.

I had my iPod Touch for years, in and out of pockets with keys and pocket-knives and cell phones, dropped countless times, two little kids messing with it all the time, accidentally sliding it face-down across surfaces, and so on. Never used a screen protector, never got a single blemish or scratch. And that was basically plain old arsenic-free glass. The Captivate is made with Corning's high-tech Gorilla Glass.
Sure, either could still scratch or break. But it's like getting a car with an expensive paintjob, and then covering the whole thing in Scotch tape so it won't get scratched. You end up with something that looks god-awful 100% of the time, because you're afraid something might happen to it that would affect how it looks. Pretty much any time someone hands me their smartphone or DS, it is a scratched, smudgy, dusty mess because of some $40 screen cover they have on there. I always try to point out that it seems odd to make your screen look terrible on purpose just because you're afraid of you might make it look terrible on accident. I used one good one once, that you couldn't even tell was there, but the first time I took it on a flight it turned into smears of rainbows.
use a piece of clear packing tape to remove the dust. running the shower helps bring dust down but there will be some lint from the cloth. dont lean over it, a lot of "dust" is dry dead skin or dandruff so if you have dry skin or dry scalp dust will fall on it. also stop being so anal.

I don't need no stinkin' screen protector. I mean unless I know my phone is going to be dragged across macadam but then a screen protector won't help, will it.
Gorilla Glass... Screen Protector unnecessary... I have always used a screen protector too on previous phones but the screen on this phone is rugged.

Yet, one day I found a scratch on my screen that I have no idea whatsoever where it came from. So, I got this Boxwave ClearTouch Crystal screen protector, and you literally cannot tell it is on there. It feels just like the glass (con for me actually, I prefer a paper kind of feel) and doesn't scratch easily at all. Plus, I installed it in a dusty room and there was no lint or anything else under the screen. It even comes with a thick card to remove bubbles once it has been applied. So, if you're even slighty, .000001% scared of getting lint trapped underneath the screen, go with Boxwave. I vouch for its clarity and ease of installation. Also, my screen is just as sensitive as before, as I've tried BARELY touching the screen and it still would pick up a touch.
And, in the rare event that you did get dust glued to the screen, it is completely washable and rewashable, so it is a little expensive, but well, well worth it.
Oh, and there is no adhesive whatsoever, not even water is needed. Just peel and go.

totally terrible advice. not that i care but i have about 20 microscratches and a couple decent sized ones....
it takes time to learn how to put screen protectors on... I have probably put 500 or so on all different types of phones you just wipe it clean tilt it so that you can make sure there are no dust particles... then you pull the backing off of the protector a few inches apply to the designated area and take a credit card and follow the rest of the protector down... works everytime

I second this . there is no such thing as 'unscratchable glass' some very expensive sunglasses use to have that warranty , guess what , they dont anymore ...
although I have to say the argument about HAVING YOUR PHONE LOOK UGLY JUST IN CASE SOME ACCIDENT CAN HAPPEN TO MAKE UGLY made me laugh , I d never have a phone without one my advice :
Just buy a few cheap ones on eBay and master the trick when your bored , after 3 times it should be installed perfectly , I also noticed if you have light scratches already on it , the screen protector hides them so thats a bonus
Ive tried SO many screen protectors. The only one I have been happy with so far (and VERY happy at that) is Realook. They are SUPER clear, thin, and very hard. You do not lose the glassy feel or the crisp vivid look on the screen. Ive put them on a few phones now, a few Vibrants and a Mytouch Slide 3g (my gf didnt even know i had put it on there till i told her). Its $10 for 2 protectors and I HIGHLY recommend them.

I have a tiny little chip right in the middle of my screen on my Captivate about a cm underneath the AT&T logo. It has taken less abuse than yours, and it even has a screen protector on it. It looks like the kind of chip you would get if a piece of gravel hit your windshield a little too hard.

Thanks for the info on the Boxwave screen protector, I've been wandering if it's as good as it looks.
In the malls near me now, there are little carts (you know those areas of the mall, where the cart/carny people are) that have people with small steady hands...
Invisible Shield it is called. They give you a lifetime warranty on the cover. They put it on. They will even cover your entire phone if you want (the back of the Captivate I am thinking of getting covered to avoid scratches on the metal back), and if you get a replacement phone for some reason, you only pay a portion of the price (material only) and they put it on again.
They use some sort of silicon liquid (snake oil... was probably just water) to aid in putting it on, and mine is perfect. Had a couple bubbles with the liquid still in it, but true to their word, it evaporated (through the protector) and it was perfect the next morning.
I jumped at this opportunity after totally FAILING at putting on a protector on my Tilt 2 (two packs of 3). On that phone, I took an exacto knife to cut off the excess I was so bad at it. I gladly paid $20 to have someone else do it and give me a warranty on it.

I've got some of the iSmooth protectors and they are quite good...once I properly installed them. Dry apply are a little tricky but there are enough tutorials and videos to help. I also have the Neo Hybrid and I'm quite happy with it.

I guess I lucked out with my choice of screen protector!
Not necessarily. I bought these SAMAR crystal clear screen protectors, managed to apply one without getting any dust or air bubbles. It has all the cutouts, the fit is good, and it is quite smooth when swiping, very happy with it so far. To top it all off it is dirt cheap and you get 6 protectors all with cleaning cloths! I've read others on here who have been happy with this brand too. Would definitely recommend.
use a drop of water when u install. it'll help take out bubbles.
also you can reapply these, just rinse in soap water then water, then shake off excess and apply. squeegee out the water - should be next to nothing.

True. And even with that. I got one first and tested before I got backups.
I use an IQshield screen protector and it's nothing short of pure awesome. No bubbles at all, and it's so smooth and dried hard. It feels like glass.
You get what you pay for. I bought the spiegen Crystal for 10 bucks and they went on perfect and looked perfect and felt pretty good to you cant even tell its on unless you look at the earpiece closely. But there's always better! I just recently bought a Nillkin Glass screen protector with 9h hardness and olephobic with rounded edges and its gonna be getting here in a week or so and that should be way better than a cheap or high quality screen protector!
This sounds silly, but whenever I install a cheap screen protector, I do two things: first, i make sure the side that's going to be applied to the screen is FACE DOWN. Never face it up, under any circumstances. if I do, its before removing from packaging. I even remove the adhesive that protects the protector itself, with the screen protector face down. this doesn't give a chance for dust to sit on the bottom of the screen when facing up. Yes im sure any dust flying around will still find a way to stick, but this reduces the chances. Plus, you make sure you are applying in a clean environment anyway. I usually vaccum the house (or area at least) prior to applying, and give the dust time to settle afterwards.
second, and heres the silly part: I make sure the screen is completely wiped, and blow on the screen itself with DRY LIPS as im applying the screen protector face down. This blows off any dust that may settle between the time you apply the screen, and make sure lips are dry as to not blow moisture onto the screen.
There really isn't any fool proof method for applying screen protectors without dust, but without some sort of clean box with a built in HEPA filtration system, this seems to work well for me 80-90% of the time, versus just applying like normal.

You can skip all the surgical-precision vacuuming if you do the application in the bathroom. Turn on the shower, hot as it'll go. Leave it run for 5-10 minutes til the bathroom is steamy. That knocks all the dust out of the air.
Then you can apply your screen protector in peace.

but wouldn't that cause moisture in the air? I could see that getting in between the screen during application. I bought a ton of screen protectors like OP though, so I'll have to give this idea a shot lol
The moisture will get out over time. Its just like having windows tinted

It doesn't matter. Even dry-applied screen protectors go on better this way, and any moisture completely dries out quickly anyway.
Spend a few hundred dollars on a phone and then buy the cheapest cases and screen protectors you can? Doesn't make sense.
I'll pay the extra $8 for a Spigen screen protector and a quality case that match the quality of my Nexus.

Spigen could've tried a bit harder and made all the cutouts. Even the temporary screen protector that comes with the phone has those. I think most screen protectors will be similar at the $1+ range but you can't expect much from ones that cost $0.25.
xtremeguards didn't have bubbles for me. Buying 6 of the same screen protectors and then saying all of them have problems doesn't make sense.
I'm assuming the OP means the bubbles are from the edge of the cutouts not sticking down which is a common issue with cheap screen protectors.
the cutouts are not made well so the screen protector itself is warped at the cutouts for the speakers etc so its not flat and does not stick down creating bubbles there.
Just install in steamy bathroom. The steam prevents dust from floating in the air.

I got this Nillkin one: http://dx.com/p/277084. I only had one. Applied by using the "hinge" method. Went perfectly. Cutouts are perfect and bubbles are removed very easy (easier than other screen protectors I've had).
I used a little wet cloth to make my screen wet and to remove dust. At first it feels very rubbery, but after using it for a day or even less, it feels just like the glass!
As the question in title goes, how many of you here are not using a screen protector on your Oneplus 3/3T? What's your experience so far without one? Any good or bad?
As for me, after going through probably a dozen of screen protectors (both TGSP and films), I have decided that it's time I should just not bother with screen protectors anymore, since none of them provide a good/smooth experience as compared to the beautiful naked screen

Ozyl 2.5 works pretty good except for a few rainbows effect at times.

I felt exactly the same when I bought my 3T, I'm using it without any screen protector. Now it has been 5 months since I got it and it's in perfect condition, no scratch at all, etc. The screen can for sure handle some coins or keys in a pocket without any protection.

My phone pocket is always dedicated for my phone only, never keep anything else like keys/coins with it anyways

Been using mine without a screen protector for around 5 months now. Not a single scratch.
I didn't like how bouncy the original screen guard was so i replaced it with a curved, full cover one. But i didn't like the dotmatrix bull**** so i got rid of it.
I actually don't need a screen guard or a case since i almost never drop anything.
EDIT: I also don't put anything other than my phone and maybe tissues in my pocket.
I used the Orzly Screen protector for about Two weeks in December when I first got the phone. Hated it so threw it away and went without one ever since. I use a Spigen Rugged Armor case and that is it. No nicks or scratches so far. I keep it in a pocket by itself all of the time. I remember dropping it twice but it landed on the corners both times and didn't even damage the case..
I tried Orzly V2 but the rainbow effect in the screen was a s**t... So, i tried the rhinoshield: id does not cover all the screen (1 millimeter on the left and 1 mm on the right) but for the moment is the best protector I've ever seen.
I've been using my phone without a screen protector since I've had it and the only way you can see any tiny little surface scratches is with a head torch on and scrutinising the screen surface. As another member has mentioned, I have been using just a Spigen rugged armour case and that's it. The screen won't get badly scratched if you are careful enough, I'll happily accept some light scratches just as part of the wear and tear process.
I have from today started trying an orzly glass screen protector purely because I have fitted a new phone holder bag thing to my road bike and I feel I mike get scratches on the screen through taking it in and out. The orzly isn't bad, especially for the money, but I can see why people don't like it.
Once a screen protector shows its first bubble i remove it. Annoying otherwise. Screen protectors are just worthless to me. Dont expose your phone screen to anything other than your pocket or finger. Get a case with a lip lift so settings your phone down sets it on its case not the screen. Screen protectors are mostly plastic anyway so you get that nasty plastic feel aside from the feel of a touchscreen panel. The feel of using a touchscreen alone is enough to not want the screen protector for me.

Glad i could help. Last time i used a screen protector it was ruined rifht when i put it on. The reason gorilla Glass exists is to prevents scuff and scratches. Screen protectors give it unnecessary help. Its already protecting against shattering and scratches. If you are scratching the screen with normal use then cut your fingernails. Or take the acrylics off, theyre ridiculous anyway.

My heart stopped one day when I dropped my phone straight onto marble, was already searching for rs10000 but the screen fell flat and absorbed the impact, there was not even a scratch on the screen.
Been using from a month without screen protector or back cover, just a skin.
Going pretty well till now, specially when you put sky blue wallpaper with naked screen it shines quite unique.
Maybe you could try.
I've never been a fan of screen protectors. My phone screen is bare and still is as good as new.

Actually it fell exactly parallel to the floor, if it was tilted even a few degrees, screen would have cracked.

I use mine without a screen protector and case. I use a dbrand skin black/red to cover the back and not get a y scratches. For the screen it doesn't have a scratch since I got it. Whenever I put a screen protector or tempered glass, the screen gets blurry and/or not clear.

This is one slippery mofo. Any skins out there? Less than 24 hours and this thing keeps slipping off what I thought were flat level surfaces. If I set it flat on the palm of my hand or on a newspaper on a table, I can watch it slowly inch its way to its doom.

i found this to be a good review of the BodyGuardz Pure Arc Curved Tempered Glass Screen Protector for the G8 ThinQ
i thought it was a shill channel looking at other reviews, but he seems to hate this. it fits GREAT, but only has adhesives on the sides and has a visible dot matrix.
on top of that, he says there is an unnatural hollow feel to it due to the adhesive not being full screen. i imagine this will negatively affect the oled speaker.
this is a $50 screen protector that AT&T is giving away as a part of a promotion.
skins... not much out there and only dbrand has responded (with a NEVER).
the Invisible Phone Guard screen protector was OK and visibility was good, but i found the sound to be very slightly muffled as if it is dampening a certain high frequency.
i'm keeping the back on until i find a decent skin.
this film seems like it will blemish easily. it certainly gets dirty easily. pics here...

No sooner did I post this than it came in the mail. Fits on easy, stays on snugly. It's matte rubber without feeling like you're holding a car tire. I had one for my Nexus 6P I really liked and this feels equally good.
This thing is indeed incredibly slippery. I think I'm just going to be extra careful about where I put it down (it's not too slippery in my hands I find, just on certain surfaces), I hate hiding the slick design of the phone with a case. This is also the first phone I've had in a very long time where the camera doesn't bulge out the back, which I really appreciate and don't want to diminish with a case.

Well there are a number of skins now at the varies skin sites though I personally skipped them and simply put the phone into an Otterbox Defender case.
I used a cheap curved glass screen protector ( was like $9) and some loca glue (like $10) to make a DIY full adhesive whitestone kit.

I have not had that issue and I am using a Supershieldz screen protector however my brother who is using an Iphone 7 recently had that issue with one due to a screen protector he picked up at Walmart though it resolved once he removed it.
It's amazing to watch this phone slowly creep off of my wireless charger, which has a rubbery grippy surface! My case arrives today...
I'm using slickwraps for the back of my phone and I like it. I would say they are slightly less precise than dbrand, but still great quality. If people would like photos, please let me know.
I'm using a Nillkin slim case, adds no bulk and provides some grippiness.
I also have a Spigen Crystal Clear gel case that's very nice, but is more bulky than the Nillkin.
As for screen protectors, i've found that glass ones are useless for this phone. I tried a couple full adhesive brands with the idea that i would fill the little gap on the edges with LOCA but of the 6 protectors that i applied, they all had a problem sticking fully in some flat areas of the screen. It was always the exact same spots so I came to the conclusion that the LG screen itself isn't 100% flat in those areas so I settled on the Ringke Dual Easy Film screen protector.

You may want to think about giving the Skinomi Full Body Skin a try. It definitely keeps my phone from slipping off of surfaces, giving the phone a bit of a plastic-rubber feel while still letting the beauty of the phone show through. The back protector doesn't interfere with any cases and offers a bit of mental relief for those times you want to carry your phone without a case.
Dude, I had my g8 for 2 days. Was in. The washroom and the phone was on a roll of toilet paper (the flat side, obviously haha) and got a notification. Before I knew it the phone slid off and landed on the bottom right corner, heard an alarming "tink" sound but didn't think anything of it. A few mins later I saw a small crack, then I looked again and realized that there were multiple cracks on the screen. Ended up getting it replaced by my carrier, I said it was damaged in shipping. Point is that this phone is a glass cannon: it's very powerful for specs but it will have a broken screen if you sneeze on it the wrong way. This is one of the massive downsides to the new gorilla glass. Sure it's scratch resistant but with the wrong amount of pressure it will get destroyed :/

I've dropped this thing so many times because it's so slippery. Seems like every other week I hear it jump off a table a few minutes after I leave the room.
I have a crack on 3 corners, but nothing across the screen. My case (which I tend to take off when connecting it to things such as controllers or some USB cables) almost hides the cracks.
However, these are more like small missing chunks of glass on the corners. I've never had such a fragile phone. I tried super glue on the corners to keep it from spreading, but eventually just went to town on the corners with silicone conformal coating that I had sitting around. It seems to be working great and keeps the little shards coated and sort of glued in there. I kind of prefer this to replacing the screen as replacements have only gone down slightly to around $150 shipped from China and I know I'll just end up breaking that one.
There's always been one or two deal breakers with all of my LG phones and that's why I kept going to a different manufacturer as soon as I could. I hate to say it but after this, I'm never going back to LG again no matter what cool unique feature they're wooing me with.
I basically used this phone with a broken screen for 5 months. Replacements are still $150 (better than $200 back when it broke). It dropped approximately 1.5ft face down onto a clay tile floor and front screen has cracks all over. It almost looks somewhat inverted now as if the screen was designed to have tension. Well I went and got a note 10+ and man it is great to have a real phone again. Doesn't have some of the edgy LG stuff that I really loved and theres no headphone jack... but bigger/brighter screen that isn't broken is so nice to have. Good luck with your screens guys.... I'll replace mine when the price is reasonable and either go back to using it or put it on ebay.

I have reached the same conclusion about the screen not being flat enough to utilize a hard glass protector even if you avoid the very curved edge portions. I tried the curved, glued only on the edge types first but that always had a weird optical effect and wasn't very ruggedly glued on, none in the middle. Why? I haven't tried using whitestone glue yet.

I also found these but yes a firm, solid piece of glass is a no go IMHO. Not a fan of these new case designs for all the new phones. Why de do dat?

Still hoping for a solution. I had great luck with Spigen Crystal screen protector SGP10855 for my LG G3 which is hard but I believe would be flexible enough if it skipped the curved edges but they don't make anything like that?
UPDATE: After watching the LG G8 video on YouTube I decided to go with the Rinke.
I'll report back. This will be 4th type attempted.
I put it on this morning. It is pretty easy to get this on with good alignment and no bubbles.
Two things.
1. If you watch the YouTube instructions the place where the dust dust cleaning sticky backing splits in half does leave a slightly perceptable crease in the soft protector. Maybe it will smooth out with time? It did not with the squeegee.
2. It's soft so you can possibly nick with your fingernails and it's also easy to lift an edge ever so slightly during final finishing so be careful.
I see no installation flaws but it also isn't a hard glass but then those do not install properly even when undersized because the screen is not level as you get near the edges as far as 1/4" away. The film eliminates this issue but will it protect and stay on.
We shall see.
I sell a lot of these devices and it is even hard to photograph them on a smooth surface because they will start around on my table. Put it in a case, the screens are expensive.
