try using RUU manually:
extract rom.zip from the RUU* and stick it in your C:\
boot into fastboot mode, plug your phone in and open command prompt and type
Code:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flashzip C:\rom.zip
fastboot reboot
*to extract the rom.zip run the RUU (but do not proceed with the process, just open it, do NOT click next, don't even plug in your phone for that matter lol), select "run" from the start menu, then type in %temp%, This will opened a folder with a bunch of files and folders, use the "sort by date" feature, and select "today". there should only be 2 folders left, search inside them and the rom.zip should be in one of them, amongst many other androidy files

--UPDATE--
After much faffing around, i used the revolution beta one click s-off, and have now managed to get back too Standard Tmobile RUU.
Being the sucker that I am, I retried the Leedroid HD rom with no luck (hang on logo)
Using correct recommended radio, ext3 partitioned sd. cwm 2.7.0.5 (or is it 2.5.0.7?) rooted s-off.
Its a shame, I really wanted Sense 3

Hi people.
I got some problems and some questions.
Until now I was perfectly happy with CWM 2.5.0.1 Recovery, BUT, I found out about newer recoveryes, so I decided to flash one.
NOW!
I'm VERY pissed off because I can't flash it.
I tried unrEVOked method, won't work, it pushes recovery but gets stuck on WAITING FOR BOOTLOADER; MAKE SURE ALL DRIVERS ARE INSTALLED. And yes, I have all drivers installed (ones that came with HTC Sync and Android 1.0 usb driver) and I tried with unrEVOked 3.14 and with the latest unrEVOked. So, thats all about that method and we can see it DOESN'T work.
Off to the next one:
I tried flashing the image with terminal emulator. Once again I did all the steps good: Copied the recovery.img to the root of SD card, entered t.e. and wrote the command (su to get superuser access and then flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img).
Once again, NOTHING.
Then I tried using ROM manager from CWM. It flashes a recovery but I can only access that recovery through ROM manager but not through bootloader, that one gets me back to 2.5.0.1.
So I would REALLY appreciate if I can get some help.
Thanks in advance.
Regards from pissed off and unhappy me.

Seriously mate, just install Android SDK, and use the Fastboot option. Easy as pie and no issues at all.
Install Android SDK, then, get the Recovery.IMG file of the Clockworkmod version you want to flash. Place this in the SDK's Tools folder. Then, reboot your Wildfire in the bootloader mode, Enter Fastboot mode (Press Power button on Fastboot).
Then, open Command Prompt on Windows, cd (browse) to the SDK's tools folder and type the following command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Done.
Screenshot here (My SDK is installed in D:\Android)

AFAIK, You dont even need SDK installed. Just the Fastboot and binary will do, which can be obtained here: (Still, not very sure of this process, as I had the SDK installed a long time back)

enough of number 1. :S
now
first line
su (ENTER)
by that i get superuser access
then in second line
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img (ENTER)
so now i get
operation done in next line
but phone should first: freeze for a bit
then get an empty line
nothing happens to me tho, and i tried to reboot in recovery coz i thought maybe it was a success, nope. same old stuff

please help!!! android SDK says (waiting for device) when my tattoo is in fastboot usb mode. it finds my device when my tattoo is on.
I've the same problem... If you have another way to flash recovery depends on S-ON/S-OFF stuff. Take a look at this thread the part 6: Custom Recoveries
If your buzz is S-ON (like mine) there isn't any other way but unrevoked but it doesn't seem to work, at least if your phone is already rooted
u do have all your windows drivers setup, do u?

hey, yesterday i had same problem. just wanted to go to stock rom and i stucked on same screen. and windows didn't see my sd card. so what i did:
booted to linux ubuntu, somehow linux saw my sd card, with gparted i deleted all partitions and reformated sd card. when i downloaded android flasher 2.2 i gues and flashed original bootloader from alpharev.nl, and flashed rocovery img. when i started official ruu 2.3 and everything went fine. now i am on original rom and have working phone . but i think that main problem was cm7r2 hboot. so i think you just need to flash original hboot and run ruu rom. ruu rom you can get from second or third thread in development section. good luck.
To all Who are experiencing the problem I faced...Illustrated HERE..
And this is What I've Triedhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19562122&postcount=8 to solve until got a FIX
I am writing this because I am getting PMs for help..and For the future Problems..
A Big Thanks to ckpv5... He helped me through out the days...
The Phone must be S-OFF and must got ROOT access to use this
Here is the Solution .. ..
After this you will have SD-CARD RECOGNIZED+NO BATTERY DRAIN..EVEN BETTER BATTERY BACKUP See my screen Shots
STILL GOT PROBLEM UNSOLVED ..PM me I'll TRY TO SOLVE
SOLUTION
1. First of ALL..do install ADB in you PC and on your Device(If it is bricked.. don’t worry it has adb shel on this already) see help from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=690362
Note these commands carefully ..and save these as txt in PC for further help
adb devices
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
2. Download these(http://www.multiupload.com/5ZAPJTFXMM) and put them into C drive after UNZIPING by 7ZIP...
3. Put a recovery.img named file of AMON RA recovery.. download from here(http://files.androidspin.com/downloads.php?dir=amon_ra/RECOVERY/&file=recovery-RA-desire-v2.0.0.img)
4. Reboot your phone in BOOTLOADER ...Power on by pressing FIRST BACK BUTTON and than POWER simultaneously..
5. Open Command Prompt in PC.. for Windows7 type cmd in search at START button... for XP type run at START search..
6. Go to the directory in cmd prompt....as...
“cd C:\android sdk\tools”
7. Type
“adb devices” Let it load
“adb shel” Let it load
“fastboot erase cache”
“fastboot reboot-bootloader”
“fastbooot oem enableqxdm 0”
“fastbooot oem eraseconfig”
“fastboot erase cache”
“fastboot reboot-bootloader”
NOTE: Do remember to do all above command together and by sequence only...
8. Now it is time to flash the recovery..
9. Rename the download recovery image as “recovery”
10. Put this img file in to “C\android sdk\tools” folder
11. Open command prompt again..
12. Type
“adb devices” Let it load
“adb shel” Let it load
“fastboot erase cache”
“fastboot reboot-bootloader”
“fastboot flash recovery recovery.img”
“fastboot erase cache”
“fastboot reboot-bootloader”
13. Now remove the SD card from the phone and connect it to PC via card reader or anything by which u can easily connect..
14. Put the ROM.zip in the SD card
15. Put the SD card back in the Phone..
16. PowerOn the phone in fastboot mode by pressing VOLUMEDOWN first and than POWER simultaneously..
17. Use volume keys to go up and down..and power to select
18. Go to recovey and press power button..
19. In recovery just go to the WIPE.. and do WIPE of cache..dalvik cache..boot..system...sd-ext...Battery Stats..
20. Now reboot recovery..
21. Now after coming back to recovery in Phone choose INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD..
22. Simply choose the ROM.zip file...
23. Let it Flash
24. Wait
25. And
26. ENJOY!!!!!
The PROBLEM IS NO MORE..
Your phone will RECOGNIZE the SD card..
The Battery Drain (Usually having 1% under a minute) Will be Gone
You can use FAstBoot Commander or Android Flasher also to Flash Recoveries or hboots and Bootloaders

for the battery Drain problem.. you can do following things..
1. Wipe Battery stats
2. Install snq kernel
3. If above two doesn't work than only... try the two "oem commands" as I writtten in the procedure..
Actually every time you flash a ROm or everytime deleting and using the phone.. a extra data related to everything as cache configuration is stored in the MEMORY which acually u can not see but it eats battery...
The oem commandsd erases that thing and after this..it is like a new memory having completely blank..
BUT AFTER DOING THIS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RECOVER ANY DATA ON PHONE MEMORY IF ACCIDENTLY DELETED..
you will need to flash a new Inatall of same ROM..or whichever you want...

I am a bit lost...
ADB cannot be used when the phone is in bootloader. So after the instruction to put the phone in to bootloader the proceeding instructions which say:
type adb devices [enter]
type adb shel [enter]
won't achieve anything. In other words, adb devices (whilst the device is in bootloader) will not find any attached devices.
adb "shel" isn't a valid command. Do you mean adb "shell" ? If so, this too isn't going to work while the device is in bootloader, adb will simply reply with "error: device not found".
So I guess what I'm trying to ask is - what is the point of those typing those two commands? In this instance, they don't serve any purpose and can be omitted?

Have you Downloaded the Tools from the link I've provided
If you have 4ext recovery boot into it and go to tools - usb unbrick. It works for me fine.

First of all I did some research on Xda regarding my issue, the issue is my phone keeps on bootlooping it did this first time during the night while the phone was sleeping and then it did it today while I was on Xda developer it just froze. I don't know anything about if my bootloader is locked but it isn't rooted with s-on and fully stock. I can go to the recovery using power and vol down, but it doesn't have any affect I tried erasing the data but it just goes back in to a bootloop. I have been reading this threat http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020931
"Relock your bootloader using the commend 'fastboot oem lock'.
Go into fastboot mode and type 'fastboot oem rebootRUU'.
Flash the new firmware using the commend 'fastboot flash zip firmware.zip'.
On first time running the commend you will see FAILED, don't panic and just run the commend again.
Reunlock your bootloader via HTCDev.
Flash custom recovery using the commend 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img'.
Download boot.img and flash it using the commend ‘fastboot flash boot boot.img’.
Use the commend 'fastboot erase cache' to avoid boot issues.
Go into recovery and install the ROM.
Reboot your device and enjoy from JB!"
I have some questions regarding this threat one of the members mentioned some steps like locking the bootloader then unlocking it. I have visited the HTC dev website and I'm finding it hard to figure how to use command prop. If I save the files to the c drive how do I locate it using cammand prop C:// (is this right?). If I connect my phone to the computer and I download the content that the member had mentioned (boot img and new firmware) where do I place these files, on the root of the sd on the phone? I can't possibly do that because after jb hox it cannot go to usb mount without root. I have two hox's one updated fine and is stock the other has been behaving funny. The phone did go into a bootloop previously but after the battery died I tired the phone on and it was working fine till one day later. The first issue I had was it was stuck on HTC boot screen then I turned it of and now it's stuck in bootloop. The only thing that I can figure out is keep it in recovery and allow the battery to die recharge it and factory reset it if it boots successfully.
Any help will be very appriciated

I just turned the phone on after I drained the battery leaving it on recovery mode and it has successfully booted but it did this before after the battery died when it went into its first bootloop during two nights ago. I know that this is only a temporary fix I feel there is something wrong with the battery or something related to that although it had more than 30% when I upgraded to jb although it was charging while updating.
Edit: I just put the phone into recovery and selected recovery it went to a screen with a phone and a bar underneath and then it rebooted asking me to go through the beginner tutorial. I don't know if the issue has been fixed yet.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Don't know for sure, but don't go unlocking the bootloader and flashing stuff. The bootloader is LOCKED. you have full warranty with that
Is the jb ruu available so I can re flash it, also can I not clear the cache using command prop what are my options? I'd the jb ruu os not avalible if I flash the ics ruu can I still recieve the ota of jb.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
No you cant flash the ics ruu because we can not downgrade the hboot. Give me your main version and see if i can hook you up with a ruu !
Fastboot getvar version-main
You tried a factory reset from the bootloader menu ?
And you can enter the recovery when you see that phone with the bar, just press volume down and power button. You see the phone with the bar because its the stock recovery
How do find out the main version? Yes I will try to factory reset through recovery.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
You put the phone in the bootloader and press hboot one time , it should say
Fastboot usb in red text
Then open a command prompt inside the fastboot folder and type
Fastboot getvar version-main
I went to recovery and connected a usb to the phone I clicked fastboot and above the hboot the fastboot usb was highlighted in red I clicked hboot and it went back to the main menu so I did it again without clicking hboot ans I opened command prop and it said C> so I typed fastboot getvar version-main it said fastboot wa not recognised I think I didn't type it properly can you help me.
The phone is now booting up but it keeps on saying sense crash then it freezes. It doesn't bootloop any more it just messes up.

Install these drivers
http://db.tt/gXVxa3Dp
Put these files in a folder where you can find them, open a command there and perform it again.
And leave the screen on in the bootloader where it says fastboot usb !

Ok so i had the same issue when i first tried to flash the new firmware on my htc one x
i was in bootloop for hours and didnt know what was going on
what fixed it for me was flashing the boot.img from the rom i had downloaded
try flashing the boot.img included in your rom it should be in the .zip file of the rom
after that i didnt experience any bootloops
Edit: i see you have problems with fastboot you first need to change to the directory where the fastboot files are stored
so you need to use the command cd to change to the directory(folder) of the fastboot files
for example my command would be cd C:\Users\Nimbs\Desktop\HTC ONE X fastboot folder

You clearly did not read ! He is already on the 1.39 hboot he does NOT have to flash a firmware, the bootloader is LOCKED so he has warranty ! The phone is 100% STOCK !!! He only wants to run a RUU to check if the problems are going away ! And the only option is a RUU because unlocking the bootloader in this case will void the warranty he still has ! .........
And please don't flash just the firmware, its actually non official released stuff !!!
And you also did not read my post, you are giving incorrect advice and posting the same info i already did. Please read the next time
I charged the phone then I connected it to the computer placed in recovery with it saying fastboot usb in red. I placed the four Dropbox files in my documents in a file called HTC driver. Then I opened command prop and it said C> then I typed /My documents/htc driver folder/fastboot getvar version-main and then I selected enter and it said my isn't recognised so I then placed user before it and it said user isn't rocognised so then I placed the user name and it said xyz not recognised. I don't know how to locate the files using command prop I placed all the files I downloaded in one file. I can't seem to understand how to use the directory sorry for being such a beginner at this I'm just not used to this. The last time I messed with a ruu and custom roms was when I had htc desire hd.

Put the files in a new FOLDER , not in a FILE ....
navigate to that folder in windows and press shift and right click inside that folder ....then you execute the command on the doscommand window that you just opened
Sorry for the mistype I placed it in a folder. So basically I open command then using windows explorer I press shift and right click to exacute the command okay.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
No you use the windows explorer to navigate to the folder then you do the shift + right click and then you type the command in the dos window
First of all I cannot run command the through shift+right click. I did download a add on from Microsoft that allows this functionality but thier was a issue. The only way I can locate the file is through command prop but it almost seems impossible to use. I don't know what to do I think I'm out of luck, all I can do is throw it back at htcs face for replacement. I tried to learn how to use command prop and but I haven't succeeded.

Dear All,
I am digging through the forum for couple of hours but after reading number of tutorials and threads I stuck with no answer to my problem.
Here is the issue:
I have HTC Desire (Bravo) PVT3 with S-Off and Alpha Rev CM7 r2.
I Tried to Flash original ROM RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed. The process failed and I have ended up with black screen and /!\ in every corner. I tried to solve the problem with with THIS tutorial (POINT 4) but I did not succeed.
I cannot flash Bravo Stock with Android Flasher (version 2.0.0) as it freezes. Links to newer version of the flasher seems to be dead - so are links to number of other utilities on the forum .
Could anyone help me bring the phone to life, please? I probably (!) even have got a goldcard (it was created long time ago, never used even not sure if it was ever working). I want to flash any rom to make the phone usable, not necessarily stock one.
After unplugging usb from the PC, the phone is in ruu mode and displays following info:
Alpha Rev CM7 r2
Bravo PVT3 Ship S-OFF
HBOOT-6. 93. 1002
Microp-051d
Touch Panel -SYNW0101
Radio-4. 06. 00. 02_2
Date, time
Many thanks for any ideas....

I assume that you're after reading HTC Desire (Bravo) Troubleshooting Guide, Chapter [4]: RUU PROBLEMS.
Try another flasher, e.g. Universal Android Flasher v1.40 b.
Just use fastboot commands to flash stock hboot then run the ruu.
The command is -
fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl.img
The reason the ruu failed is because the system partition in the cm7r2 hboot is too small for the ruu.

In the same way that you read in bortak's quide.
First you need to be sure that you have the IMG for hboot and that through adb you have connection to the device.

OK, I have downloaded "Bravo Stock" from Alpharev but I cannot boot to fastbood mode (back and power don't work).
How to check adb connection or how to establish it? While trying to flash with adb flasher from the tool you have provided there is error: phone not found

Pull the battery out then put back in, then press and hold back + power Or vol down + power. /!\ in each corner is the same as fastboot mode. So when u get that screen, plug in ur phone and type the fastboot command
fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl.img
Then type
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then run the ruu.

It seems I don't have adb connection.
I installed new Android SDk Tools as is in here [Tutorial] How to install Android SDK tool & HTC's drivers [BEGINNERS FRIENDLY], new HTC drivers "HTCDriver_4.2.0.001.exe" from [DRIVERS] Latest HTC Drivers [4.2.0.001] and Java.
When I type in command line adb devices there is none listed. When I try adb reboot command it says no device connected. Phone is in fastboot mode (black htc screen with /!\ in corners)

OK, It works! Sorry. I loaded hboot image. Many thanks for all of you!
Two more questions: in case I load stock RUU will I S-ON the phone? Can I load now any other rom (aplplicabe for stock hboot) using fastboot and how? Or should I better load ruu and than try to load rom from .zip file using bootloader?
