1.) After the latest OTA update, my notifications are screwed, but I guess from reading the thread it's happening to everyone and I should just wait for a fix from HTC?
2.) Unfortunately the little town where I live outside my city has no 3G coverage, but my phone still tryings to connect to 3G and I end up only having one bar or no service, however, when it is on EDGE I have full bars. Is there an app or anyway I can disable 3G just like on the iPhone?
3.) I'm not too fond of HTC Sense. I really would like stock Android 2.3 or something akin to the Oxygen mod for the Desire. Is there anyway to get stock 2.3 android on my Desire HD or something similar?
Have a stock Desire HD thats fully updated, locked to "3" in Denmark. if that makes any difference.
Thanks!
1.) I tried a hard reset and even flashing the RUU, but problems still persist. I'm using GO SMS at the moment and no missed notifications from it.
2.) If you go to Settings > Wireless & network > Mobile networks > Network mode and set it to GSM only.
3.) There are some ROMs in the Development section. Not sure if they're filly working though.

If you want gingerbread check out this thread.
Its mostly working for most people but it is still alpha software so don't expect it to be perfect. Once the development team, Team Douche, finish adding their Cyanogenmod extras to it this will be the finest AOSP Gingerbread version you will find.
Thanks for the replies! I will look into the ROM you suggested!

When I go into "Network mode" I only have 2 options; "WDCMA only" and "GMS/WCDMA auto."
That's weird. Try going into the dialer then typing in *#*#4636#*#*. Then Phone information. Scroll down to
Set network type GSM only.

After I installed CM7 on my G2 my wifi signal strength is low and cutting out, even though I'm only about 20 feet from the router and and behind two walls. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there anything I can do about it?

From what I know what rom you use shouldn't matter about signal strength. Try flashing a new radio

I had good success with this on GV1.5 (which is basically the same internally as CM7) on all counts (mobile data, wifi, gps, the whole shebang). if you don't have eng hboot, use method 2 to update (the .zip update method).
also note that I did the full 9 yards when I installed this:
-installed radio, rebooted, wiped dalvik cache, rebooted, updated lib files, rebooted. if I were you, I would try just updating the radio and then rebooting. if your wifi appears to be working better, call it good. if you're still having trouble, try each next step one by one, testing wifi in between each.
my advanced wifi settings are as follows for what it's worth (settings->wireless & networks->wifi settings->advanced):
Regulatory domain: 14 channels
wi-fi sleep policy: never

I installed the radio, and wiped the dalvik cache, and it's still cutting out. This may sound like a stupid question, but how do I update the lib files?

I use the 26.06.02.27_M radio and I get better wifi reception with it.
I definitely have this problem, and the various radios do not improve the situation. My wifi indicator shows full strength on the stock ROM all around my house, but with all CyanogenMod based ROMs, it drops a bar just 10 feet away from the router. When I'm outside in the backyard, the stock ROM shows just one less bar from full whereas CM based ROMs that I've tried show one bar at best.
I wouldn't much care, but the WiFi calling app almost never works outside for me on CM based ROMs, it constantly complains about the WiFi signal. Stock ROM doesn't have this issue.
I've tried 3 different radios and they all have this issue.

could u give a link where did you find this radio ?
Any one else here use tasker? Anyone having issue with gps not turning on with tasker?
I'm having the same issue....did you ever find a solution to your problem?
It's an Android thing. Android doesn't allow third party apps to directly change the gps due to security issues. It will automatically take you to the location settings
Install an apparently called "secure settings". Its an addon to tasker; ie you will get more options within tasker with it. One of the things is GPS.

Okay, supposedly this phone supports the MAP profile, however, I can't seem to get it to work on any FORD / Chrysler / etc. device that supports the Message Access Profile for utilizing SMS over Bluetooth.
I know that CM7 recently committed some patches to enable MAP for CM7 devices.
Does anyone have any idea?
I tried querying the device capabilities by using 'sdptool browse local' to see if it was listed, but that returns can't connect to service.
Thanks!

Our stock based kernels have trouble with this from what I understand. Running cm7 alpha is the only way I've seen it work.

It is "Message Access Profile" a bluetooth profile that allows sms and email transmission over bluetooth.
Ford Sync and Chrysler/Dodge and BMW have car audio systems that use this profile to allow the radio to 'read' text messages (and on some, email msgs) and allow canned responses to be sent without using your hands. It will also alert tone when a msg is received.
Hopefully that explains it.

Do you have a link to this ROM? I just want to test it myself. (The CM7 patches for MAP profile weren't committed until around the 11th of Jan - and I haven't seen any ROMs for CM7 for our phones after that date)
Thanks!
try ecid it eliminates need for that, reads your text over bluetooth

That's cool - I tried it on my G2 with the latest CM7 compiled with the MAP commits, however, I'm guessing it's hardware dependent?? as well, since it didn't work on the G2. (nowhere in the G2 specs is MAP listed as a BT Profile)
What did you sync to to test on your HD2? Uconnect? Sync?
Hi, I've been trying to use Wifi Tether for the d2spr and I can't seem to get it working correctly. Here is the output of `tether start`, `tether stop`, and `tetherdebug.sh` which is a script put together by TrevE.
This should be enough information to figure this out, but I don't see why some of these errors are showing up.
Thanks in advance.

Same thing. No difference.
Hhmm. I didn't pay attention if he changed the internal version numbers or not with the different releases when he was trying to get it to work right with the GS3's, but when I bring up the about screen it says, 3.2-beta2-modv5 ***Synergized***
In Setup-Method select Netd-Ndc(master). And Wifi Driver reload 2. Also press menu and Select "install binaries".
Also disable Sprint connection optimizer.

It should be up to date. The version numbers shouldn't matter because others have got it working. I have all of the log information in this thread. All we have to do is figure out what the source of the errors is.

Just tried this. Native tether allows me to connect to it, but no data is transferred.
EDIT: Tried this using "Native Framework Tether" and I could connect, but again, no data. Also, SSID was changed from what I set it as, to "TetherFallback"
Well I'm not using AOSP now, but check if it have any kind of access control.

With the newer version of TrevE mod, it comes with a way to make use of that method, while still able to use access control and show the amount of data, if I'm not mistaken. Didn't work.

Why are you so insistent on using the treve mod? It says on the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224083 that it only works on 100% stock roms. It was never intended to work on aosp roms. I don't know how else I can say this to have it make sense...
