I seem to be unable to get the kitchen mods to change the footer and replace the carrier with a custom message on the notification pulldown screen. Font color also remains black. Is there some setting I'm missing? Yes, I verify it's checked.
edit: rooted running rmk's gingersense

Stock ROM? Custom ROM? Carrier? ROM version? Can you provide us with a bit more information?
rom version 1.19.707.1 (51489) WWE
Rom date 05/15/09
i have never changed the rom or anything else.so it is stock rom right?
all i want to do is change the 4g and 3g signs in the status bar, i changed them in systemui.apk, what do i have to do to add to my phone? i tried uot kitchen but i get a error:0 and install aborted when flashing, any ideas? sorry for the simple question.
I've been running on m1ndh4x8r's Sense 3.5 ROM for a while and the only issue I have is not being able to disable the CRT on/off animation.
Settings> no animations don't seem to disable it even after a reboot. Also installed Spareparts and setting the animation speed to fast doesn't seem to do the trick either.
So is there any way I can get rid of it? If I had to decompile and edit services.jar, how do I go about that? Thanks in advance.
Bump. Sorry
Alright, seemed to have figured it out myself. Had edited the PowerManagerService.smali and the PowerManagerService$BrightnessState.smali (services.jar) to remove bits of the CRT animation.
Well, I've attached the services.jar file if anyone requires it. It does have CRT off, NOT on. And the animation switches off when settings are set to 'no animation'.
PS. I'd advice backing up your current services.jar to avoid any issues. The file has been edited from m1ndh4x8r's v4.7 sense 3.5. And I apologize if there is an easier alternative around, couldn't find it when I searched.
Edit: Just to avoid confusion: This flashable Zip file allows you to have CRT off animation when switching the screen off/ locking AND disables the CRT on animation when unlocking. Also, setting it to 'no animations' will remove the CRT effect altogether unlike some ROMs where the effect sticks regardless.
So i was trying to hide the update notification till a zip got put up for MB1 (thanks freeza) so when i pulled down the status bar to view the update i pressed and held it till it popped up with "app info" i then clicked that and it gave me "google framework " i unchecked "show notifications " and the update went away from my status bar.. my question is will this effect anything important from happening besides sys updates? Im hoping this method is safer then trying to do it with root explorer or titanium ..
Hello all, I have a weird bug after accepting the OTA to Android 10 two days ago. I noticed that the UI is stuck in immersive mode, meaning the nav bar and status bar disappear after a second or two. I am rooted but have not modified any system files. Went into Custom Restrictions and made sure that there was nothing checked. Not sure what else could be causing this or is there a setting somewhere that I am not finding. I toggled gestures back to 3-button and that didn't do anything either. Thanks
I managed to fix it...
Not sure how or what caused this command to be executed but "settings put global policy_control immersive.full=*" was enabled, had to rerun it without the *
