I thought this could be done in Advanced Config, and I did disable the Shutdown animation from there, but couldn't figure out how to disable the startup animation.
Is there a better way than replacing the file with something else? Empty string?
I used DiamondTweak, worked like a charm.
I still have the problem that my screen goes blank after only 30 sec of inactivity. Do you have that problem too?

Hmm, will check that out.. I know there was some tool floating about which seemed to work but caused people trouble but I can't recall what it was now, but it seems like it was screen or sound
No, my screen stays on for as long as I have it set.. I'm using phoneAlarm to do it, so not sure if that matters.
Anywho, thanks for the tip!
In Advanced Config 3.3 go to HTC Animation & change Startup GIF/WAV & Shutdown GIF/WAV
Any other way to disable the startup other than replace what is there with something else? I have the shutdown animation disabled, which was easy. Now just need the startup taken care of.
You don't have to replace what's there, just use advanced config to select somethign else.
I found an HTC logo and converted it to a GIF as well as a PNG for startup/shutdown. Selected some sort of beep for the startup sound and now it's much less offensive.
What I'd like to know is how to replace the "AT&T world phone screen that loads sorta liek the bios for a PC.
you can try " Sktools " , V4.4.7.*
search for it here , or google ...
I also use Diamond Tweak for disabling the startup animation and sound -- could never get it to work in ACT.

You need to create a GIF, BMP, or JPG file that's 480 pixels across by 800 pixels vertically. This will be what eventually shows up as your initial splash screen. Then, you open the image file you created with this, and convert it to a .nb file. Then, use this to convert the .nb you just created to a flashable .nbh file. Flash the .NBH with any Rhodium CustomRUU and you're all done.
Standard Disclaimer: If you brick, it's not my fault, blah blah blah. (Even though you shouldn't; I've used these tools a ton with my Kaiser with no problems whatsoever)
on the Hermes there was just a simple regkey to disable the startup animation.
no ones knows the regkey to disable startup and/or shutdown animation on the rhodium???
HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation
-replace StartupGif with a blank (ie: erase the \windows\att_warhawk_boot.gif)
to remove the animation
-replace StartupWAV with blank ("") ie.. erase \windows\att_warhawk_boot.wav)
to remove the annoying startup sound
I just deleted the StartupWAV value and sure enough it disables the startup sound. Thanks!

Hi,
Could someone kindly provide me with the current settings apk as i was a bit daft and forgot to back it up whilst trying to mess about with lock screens.
Cheers
Please delete thread - worked out how to do it
can you enlighten the rest where to find it?
Yes sure. I Extracted the update-kindle-juniper-35.4.6.1_user_461013820.bin file using 7-Zip and when it creates a folder you need to traverse to:
System > App and voila There are the main APK's so you can keep this as an apk backup area in case you mess up like i did
oh sorry i though this was about replacing the settings.apk witht he stock android one.
No it was putting the currently Amazon one back in - I tried a stock android one and had nothing but problems with it. Whether it is because there are 2 Amazon Settings apks
AmazonSettings.apk
AmazonSettingsPermissions.apk
Also the option to change lock screens does not show visually in the settings menu, but if you add a lock screen it will send you to the hidden settings option (Notification Access) to enable to the change which lock screen receives notifications.
Tried long and hard with this if you add a stock settings.apk lock screen option gets a bit corrupted and you cannot preview edit original one.
I really wanted to mess abit more with lock screen but looking at the apks for the Amazon rom:
LockScreen.apk
LockScreenPreviewer.apk
LockScreenSettings.apk
LockScreenSettingsPreviewer.apk
I didnt know if normal roms has 4 different ones??
Hello, this is my first time posting here. I was having some trouble with the touch screen not being responsive enough, sometimes missing my taps. So I installed this mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2347009&page=3
Not only did it not appear to change anything, after rebooting I found that my menu and back button no longer vibrate like they should (yes vibration is on in settings) and my q-button no longer does anything. And my home key does not turn the screen on now either. This has to be a simple key configuration change but someone please help me fix this issue Oh also I have the at&t version of the phone if that makes a difference.
Edit: I have found more information about this problem. One being that the mod I spoke of only changes the usr folder of the system folder which contains the key mappings gk-keypad-8064.kl file. I tested and trying to change the QuickButton command in the settings no longer affects this key mappings file as I believe it should. So somehow it either can't find the file (even though it's there) or thinks that the file is corrupt. So is there anyone who has the stock gk-keypad-8064.kl file I can use? Or maybe there should be different permission settings other that rw r r? Please let me know as I think this is the main problem here.

How about you try to flash back to the stock rom using the lg flash tool?
I fixed it with a work around. I used exposed additions to force haptic feedback and also to map the q button key. Hopefully if anyone else has this problem it will help them.
Does it work on FireTV for changing settings?
I can navigate to view everything except the entropy menu which causes a close.
I can even see a hidden menu with phone and wifi settings appear.
I need to test some unique stuff and I want to avoid any possible boot loops.
It says Hardware Acceleration and forced GPU rendering are disabled despite me modding these with other root apps.
I'd figure enabling these through Pimp My Rom could make them work and enhance performance greatly on such an old firmware version.
I recently rooted my LG G3 Stylus. One of the first things I did was download customization applications such as gravitybox and boot animations. However only some of the many options in gravitybox actually worked on my phone. The majority of the settings did not alter how my phone looked when I changed them. Only a few options actually worked for me such as changing the color of battery percentage while charging other status bar settings. I tried to goto the notifcations and lockscreen options but almost all of them didn't work. I didn't bother trying options that came after. When I installed a boot animation it would not show up unless it relatively long because my phone runs the brand LG G3 Life's Good powered by Android logo before all the boot animation's I've installed. I've tried to do it manually by moving the bootanimation.zip file into /system/media but I cannot get rid of the LG G3 logo. I've even looked to see if there a bootanimation.zip in /data/local because I've read that the phone executes bootanimations from that directory before the /ststem/media but there was no zip file there. I've also tried to enable the advanced power menu but my stock power menu would always show up displaying only power off, power off and restart, and turn on airplane mode. I've used three different applications to try and enable the power menu but none of them have worked.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
