It seems that Videolan is searching for developpers, but i'm not able to, so i allow myself to join another thread in another forum, maybe someone could make something ??

Thanks.

Hi guys,
No one is interrested or I have posted in the wrong section ?
Thanks
Dob.
VLC has been trying for some time to get on Windows Mobile. It needs to happen. An open source video player would be one of the best additions to WM software.
he really miss a player for windows mobile.
TCPMP no longer fit for our machine can not handle hardware acceleration.
I find it really unfortunate that it was not 1 player worthy of Windows Mobile. same core player does not pay can handle certain codecs.
i fully agree with mancukya
the hardware is getting more advance but the software is playing catch-up
vlc is my fav on all platforms, i use it on my pc and my mac
to get it on my winmo phone would be a blessing (i dont want to pay for something like coreplayer which doesnt support that many types of codecs)
So there is no one who can help the Videolan's Team to port VLC on Windows Mobile ?
There is a VLC media player for winmo for a while now, but it is very bad and not really working. whats your problem with coreplayer?!
it's just that my provider offer us a service, that permit us to show the TV via videolan and it's doesn't work with coreplayer....

Well, sadly, thanks to a lack of certain XNA APIs, this is going to remain a concept for a while. But I still sketched something up in Photoshop to give people an idea what I had in mind.
Basically, it's a two-deck player (refresh button top-right would switch decks), with pitch shift (slider on the left), simple transports, crossfader (bottom right) and scrobbling by finger manipulation on the wave display.
The left hand dimmed side of the wave display is already played content and might act as surface for more potential controls (stuff like bass cut, if I ever figure out how to make an EQ work).
The mixer would output either a single stereo channel with the monitor signal mixed in, or dual mono mode, where one channel is the main and the other the monitor (in case you're trying to be leet on a party and mix using the phone). On top of that, there would be single deck stereo-out mode for freaks with two phones. I guess there may be demand for this, since I've seen evidence of Apple clowns doing something like this in the past with their crop of mobile DJing apps.
Filetype support would be MP3 only, there are no APIs to access the system codecs for frame level decoding, and the only thing I could dig up on the web is a C# MP3 decoder.
Right now I'm only waiting for the XNA's XACT APIs to hit Windows Phone 7, or at least something similar. Without raw audio output capabilities, like what that API allows, this project stays at concept stage.
Anyway, opinions?
Looks good.
Multi-touch will sure be usefull there
Pretty much similar project I submitted to the wp7req for device . But it failed because of lack of the access to the raw audio output. Also, not sure if WP7 allows access to media library...
In XNA, you there's a MediaPlayer class you can make use files from your Zune library, from how I understand it, but it still wouldn't give you straight file access.
WP7 doesn't exactly need XACT, but at least something to do simple stereo raw output. One wouldn't even expect low latency from a phone. And maybe APIs to leverage system codecs, but that'll probably stay a dream for a while.
Well, this project is definitely on ice for indeterminate time.
To continue, Microsoft needs to allow access to the phone's codecs. The only available MP3 decoder written completely in C# decodes at only 7x in the emulator, which is way faster than the actual phone.
Since there can be up to four decoding instances running (two decks playing, and up to two proxies for visualization being generated), making this application work is impossible without access to high-performance decoder (read: native ones).
So sad to hear.
I was pretty excited when I stumbled on your post. I had the same exact concept for an app in my mind when I heard that XNA has access to the media library.
effects aside though, how were you going to account for beat matching and bpm?
I wanted to decode the stuff and then interpolate it accordingly for pitch shift and use my FFT stuff from that other application to detect bass for counting. Automatic matching might have been workable in the long run.
The UI was supposed to get a pitch shifter, speed up and slow down and cue buttons, the ability to scrub/scratch. To have it handle like a real turntable.
But as long Microsoft doesn't supply an API to seek and decode specific blocks of audio files, ideally from the music library, there's no point. As I said, the MP3 decoder written in C# that I have here is slow as **** in the emulator already, the phone's considerably slower.
I would really something this: to 'mix' a playlist to share with my friends. It should be easy to use and have some nice effect, just for casual use
Does anyone know of any decent software I can use to play .nsv (H264 codec) streams on WP7? .
On Windows Mobile 6.x I used CorePlayer which worked perfectly. The look, feel and stability of WP7 is so much improved (took me a while to get used to though), It would be a shame if I have to keep swapping my chip over to the older phone to watch the footy while I'm on the move!
I tried a few search but i cant find any answers..
Will the mango update include the following?
-bluetooth file transfer
-front facing camera support
-usb mass storage mode
-Divx Support
-office docs file tranfer via zune
-better office suite
Will the mango update include the following?
-bluetooth file transfer - NO.
-front facing camera support - Don't know.
-usb mass storage mode - NO.
-Divx Support - Maybe.
-office docs file tranfer via zune - Don't think so , maybe using skydrive.
-better office suite - what is wrong with it ?
-bluetooth file transfer - NO.. what do you expect, MS to let you send music which the other person should bought ? NO, thats piracy, but they could support image transfers.
-front facing camera support - Maybe...
-usb mass storage mode - NO. coping .xap just like that... hm, never ?
-Divx Support - no, they have their music and movie store and they expect you to buy there.. and there's no DivX there as I know. Anyway, zune automaticly convert your videos to supported format when sync.
-office docs file tranfer via zune - this would be good.
-better office suite - yeah, what's wrong with this one ? Maybe some small updates..
We don't know everything that's going to be available in Mango.

well Joe Belfiore did show off quite a bit at MWC like better office integration with skydrive instead of having a sharepoint server

In order to support file transfer, you need a file explorer first.

Zune software and Zune HD player support Divx already. There is no reason other than phones themself don't support it (requires extra license feee).

You don't need a file explorer, you'd go into the hub eg pictures, long press on a picture and select share, via bluetooth.
Why would you need a file explorer? I swear some of you don't think before you post and just spin any feature question into a "we need a file explorer".. Anyway, I haven't heard any definitive answer about BT transfers for like images and contact cards... So I don't know why I keep seeing a "no" everywhere - unless I missed something from MIX
that is what i am thinking,ms could provide one button,by bypressing it,it could be shared via many other ways

Joe also said, in the keynote, that he wasn't gonna get into the end-user changes coming down the pipe. So, we definitely know more is in the works but not what.
Office Mobile isn't that good compared to ThinkFree or especially Documents-To-Go. The document compatibility is great, but the actual app functionality leaves much to be desired... That's why people are wondering if they'll have a better office suite.
They're prolly working on a better version for iOS, though. That seems to be the way Microsoft does things these days.

You are aware of the fact that there are different teams for each project, aren't you? The team working on improvements for WP7 is not the same team that's busy with working on iOS applications.
I'm more than aware of that. That's precicely why iOS has WLM with Messenger Social and we still have a crappy People Hub with no 1st party IM client.
That is part of the issue with Microsoft's mobile strategy. A Mobile OS is only as good as its apps and services integration. If they can't get their own Office/Windows Live/etc. team to support their own OS better than a competitor's product, those are issues which need to be remedied.
That was my point. Good job on being oblivious to it!

getting 1billion iphone users to BUY and get accustomed to M$ Office makes much better business sense than making a native application for all three of the wp7 users.
maybe we will see hard numbers of sales released if/when enterprise customers start using wp7 ?

What is wrong with that? Word on WP7 is the crappiest implementation of Word I've seen.
It's pathetically crippled and limited app which is practically unusable in any professional situation besides reading. This crap doesn't even allow you to change font type lol.

People just want to use their own files how they want.
Bluetooth transfer of files doesn't mean stealing anything. Do you really have so little brain to not beeing able to imagine people sending docs, videos etc? So what are you doing on xda than?
DivX is mostly MPEG4 Part 2 Advanced Simple Profile. And it's actually supported by WP7. The problem is that in real life DivX exists in .avi files, and this particular container format isn't supported. Now the weird thing is that .avi is Microsoft's own format, unlike .mp4 which is supported but comes from Apple.

But on phones..... Not really anymore

Hardware decoding only available on some devices. No hardware decoding on Mali400 devices such as the MK802 and Mini X.
Tested on my GNex: works fine!
Also tested on Gtab 10.1: Doesn't work because Tegra2 doesn't support Neon.
ENJOY!

Use your media as-is: XBMC can play CDs and DVDs directly from the disk or image file, almost all popular archive formats from your hard drive, and even files inside ZIP and RAR archives. It will even scan all of your media and automatically create a personalized library complete with box covers, descriptions, and fanart. There are playlist and slideshow functions, a weather forecast feature and many audio visualizations. Once installed, your computer will become a fully functional multimedia jukebox.
It is difficult to put into words all that XBMC can do, head to the gallery to see some examples, or take the plunge and Try it Today.
nvm
I've noticed that video playback is very choppy when streaming

Mouse clicking is a problem since the tolerance for click vs swipe seems to be too low. A quick tap works.
