[Q] RCMIX S 2.0 CM7 and battery mods - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I just installed RCMIX S 2.0 CM7 (before I was ugind leedroid), but I'm getting troubles installing battery mods...
I tryed a lot of mods found in the thread and some others cooked by myself with UOT, but all the times the battery icon don't change. Some of them modify the boot screen, the fonts, but the battry icon is always the same...
Some advice? someone can give me the options used on the UOT for a working version?
Best regards.

Use the UOT - and when requested upload the given files (sorry can't get screenshot now - kitchen under maintenance).
But it should be framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and one more
Everything else should be default (except the setting you've customzied)/
Make a nandorid before flashing!

I have to select some options about data++ or not? (I'm using the RCMIX S 2.0 CM7)
Last times I selected RCMIX from the kitchen list, I have to upload my files?
Best regards

On The Page where u upload files (and u dont need to upload The files) there is a Box on The left side u have to tick. Cant remember which One but think its something with data++.

[Theme][2.3.3][28/Apr/11][JVB] AOSP-gingerbread

JVH, JVO and JVP themes can be found in this thread!
I was using ock's gingerbread theme for JVK and really liked versions 1-2. I'm not really interested in "all in one" themes and prefer things to be a bit more modular.
This is a "from scratch" theme, decompiled with apkmanager with graphics from AOSP source.
Also likely to only work with deodexed roms I would assume.
What this does:
* Changes the images in framework-res and SystemUI, these include the window frame shape, status bars and various other graphics.
* Changes a few text colours to properly match the new graphics.
* For the moment, has AOSP stock battery mod. (not percentages).
What this will never do:
* Change your lockscreen.
* Add more lockscreens.
* Have the extended power menu. (iirc these are "unsafe" reboots anyway)
* Include the overscroll glow.
* Include the CRT off animation.
If you're after these features I recommend popping over to ock's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010324
But, but, but, I really like the overglow effect!
dhiru1602's stand alone mod should work with these mods: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1027935&highlight=overscroll+glow
TODO:
- Media scanner's entry in the notification dropdown is coloured wrong. (part of TW?)
- Recolour the data connection icon on the power menu.
- Odd browser combo box size error.
- Adjust xml based colours to match AOSP.
Screenshots
Always useful to have a backup when trying new themes, so there's an "uninstall" which will replace the files back to stock.
CWM3 Compatible Installs:
Main theme:
* Install theme - aosp-jvb-vX.Xs.zip
* Samsung stock JVB theme - stock-jvbs.zip
Lockscreen:
* Install AOSP lock - aosp-lock-jvb-s.zip
* Install Samsung lock - glass-lock-jvb-s.zip
MediaProvider: (SDCard scanner)
* Install aosp themed mediaprovider - aospthemed-mediaprovider-jvb-X.X-s.zip
* Install Samsung stock mediaprovider - stock-mediaprovider-jvbs.zip
Changelog:
aosp-jvb=v1.67: 28/04/11
- Properly fixed the browser combobox error instead of just a workaround. No real need to upgrade though.
aosp-jvb-v1.5: 26/04/11
- Fixed most/all the colours to match aosp in styles.xml.
- Fixed the animation on the progress spinners to be 12 frames instead of 8.
aosp-jvb-v1.4c: 22/04/11
- Fixed the notification bar item background bug which was caused by fixing the combo box bug.
aosp-jvb-v1.4: 22/04/11
- Fixed the browser combo box bug.
aospthemed-mediaprovider-jvb-1.1:
- Bugfix.
aosp-jvb-v1.2:
- Edited tw data connection icon to match the aosp theme.
- Optimised the PNGs.
aosp-jvb-v1.1:
- Changed progressbar colour to match aosp. (orange).
aosp-jvb-v1:
- Initial release.
any screenshoot?
i can't see it anywhere
with screenies would be nice
sweet! keep it up! I like that u have only done "minor" changes trying now!

At present I'm not intending to skin the dialler or contacts. More or less only core system related.

It couldn't hurt to give it a shot just replacing them. Just backup your current ones.
Otherwise search this forum for skins of dialler and contacts.
I'm new with android and i want to ask how to install this theme, i'm on 2.3.3 jvk; rooted phone.

If you're on JVK you probably shouldn't flash this. I believe they are a little different. (you may see minor graphic bugs, etc). If you pop over to ock's thread I believe v1-v2 were for JVK.

"E:signature verification failed"...any ideas?
in fact, i only want to make the signal and wi-fi bars when avalable green instead of the stock light grey.
@sargorn great job with this AOSP theme.. love it. Right now, I cant use the files you provided because I'm using a modded framework-res.apk which includes chinese. Im trying to get your look though. So far, I made the status bar black, but cant seem to get it right. Is it possible if I give you my framework-res.apk and systemUI.apk, you can mod it for me? Sorry to ask you such a big request...thanks

You're probably using the stock kernel? You need to flash a custom gingerbread kernel and/or custom rom (basically you need CWM recovery) This theme is only for deodexed roms, so if you just flashed stock via kies or otherwise this probably won't work.
For a deodexed stock rom check out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948790
Or you can try a custom rom. Check the Development forum for those.

If you just want a minor change, can I recommend the UOT Kitchen?
http://uot.dakra.lt/
It's fairly easy to use (again, you need a deodexed rom for this), grab the framework-res.apk from /system/framework/ from your phone and the SystemUI.apk from /system/app/.
Choose whichever bits you want, then upload those two files and it will generate an update you can flash with CWM.
I think everything except the Boot animation should work on the galaxy s.

I can give it a shot, but without being able to correctly test it, it might be a bit hit and miss.
It's actually not so difficult to do yourself. There is a very good tutorial in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9978779#post9978779
For the images required I grabbed them from android aosp source, or you could simply decompile my framework-res with apk manager.
Tweaking a few things to match the AOSP xml, few colours, sizes, etc.
Will run it tomorrow on my phone and see if I find any issue then upload it if it's ok.
No problems with it, 1.5 is uploaded. Some new screenshots too!
sargorn, you somehow read mi mind with this them. I'm playing with framework pieces for weeks now trying to find the stock gingerbread look for SGS .
Your theme is looking excellent from all points of view.
Anyway ... please tell me what you did in order to fix the combo box bug in browser .. thanks.

[Q] Quick Settings edit

hi,
quick question: how to edit the quick settings in the drop-down menu (notification tray) in Gingerbread Sense ROMs ? (im using insertcoin)
i want to know ! how to do ?
Maybe this Thread helps you
well unfortunatetly no answer there, just an idea to decompile an .apk and suit it to my needs.
still, anyone ?
Its so simple in MIUI Rom... their is an option in settings/Personal/ Custom Status Bar..
Incase you desperately want the setting, you can try MIUI ;-)
Well it's a difference if you did the thing yourself or if you want to change a HTC based feature without big hacks. I think it's pretty much impossible.
But if there is a solution, let me know - 2G/3G is missing
it is not impossible, in stock you get only a few quick settings, in custom roms (rcmixs, insertcoin) devs extended it - i want to know how, so i can remove the unneeded shortcuts.
robocik: not that easy, you should take a modded systemui.apk and a stock one, decode both with apktool and diff them, that way you will see how it is maked and will be easier for you to modify it.
this is the method, have not tried it yet though.
if any of you intrested guys tries to do this, i really apprecieate your feedback here thx.
and big thanks to robo, not only for all the amazing job he is doing for our community, but also for responding to my Q
I have rooted Desire Z with Virtuous Sence v2 Rom.
Go to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071118
and download Extra QuickSettings 0.2
http://www.multiupload.com/W7GXFQJN6R
Extract SystemUI.apk from zip file.
I used DroidExplorer to replace original : system/app/SystemUI.apk
with the downloaded one and have ne quick settings menu.
Is there any way to change "quick settings" with rooting?
If by "change" you mean "add/remove features in the settings list", yes, there is. Check out this thread.

UOT Themes

Thought I'd start a generic thread for UOT Themes as I did a couple for the stock 4.6.8 rom. These aren't great, but at least they're a change from the stock, so maybe others with talent can do some as well.
I've attached the Red and light blue themes I've created. If you want to use them as starters, just extract the settings.uot file and go to http://uot.dakra.lt/ and choose file upload, settings to import these settings. From there you can alter the boot screens and colors as you like. You'll need to make sure you set everything for MDPI and use the framework-res.apk and Systemui.apk from your phone (or the rom you use on your phone).
The two zip's I attached are for the 4.6.8 rom, so don't use them on apex or CM7/9. You can however import the settings and use your own framework-apk and systemui.apk to make a version that works with your rom.
Please share any new themes or changes to these themes you have... They can definitely be streamlined because some of the items don't apply to our phone so more people working on these would help us all. It would also be nice to see some full non-uot themes in this forum, but this at least is a start.
Hi, man.
How can i change the lockscreen? motorola one is too ugly
select new lockscreen from uot kitchen didn't work for me
everything else work in uot kitchen i don't know why

[Q] UOT kitchen questions

Just created a change in the status bar, fancied some different colour icons and the circle battery. So I used UOT kitchen.
I am running ARHD 7.0.4 and have rctweak v4 flashed.
Anyway, I created the mods in the kitchen I wished to use, uploaded the three files required from the rom.
I have since flashed the cooked zip, unfortunately the lockscreen has not changed (I selected Cyanogen), the status bar icons are still default white. In fact the only thing that changed is the battery icon which is now a circular battery icon as requested.
Is this normal?
In the uot kitchen you only needed two files from the rom
1. The framework file in the framework folder
2. systemUI in the app folder was all you needed to upload.
Thats probably where you are running into your issues you added to many files to the uot.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
Try wiping cache and dalvik before flashing the zip.
Also you uploaded the right amount of files so I wouldn't worry there. It needs three for sense roms and two for aosp. It would only matter if you have a sense Rom and didn't upload the HTC framework. Sometimes too UOT doesn't know what to do with a certain file, especially on sense, because the layout of the file is different on newer versions. You could see if they have the version of Arhd on the droplist of specific roms instead of uploading the files by yourself.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
I think the issue is with having RCtweak v4 installed. I'm guessing this changes the framework file and possibly SystemUI during flashing? Perhaps RCtweaks and the UOT changes don't play nicely?

Carefully select right folders for your rom in UOT Kitchen -> File upload -> Flashing folders for system files
Good luck!
Ok, now running ARHD 6.3, having the same problem.
Created the mods I wanted to use, uploaded the three files needed and then grabbed my cooked zip from the kitchen.
Flashed this but only the battery has changed. I requested the status bar icons be changed too and did select an icon package (g15 androidian), but these did not change.
I have cleared the cache and reflashed the kitchen zip but the same result.
I also checked the kitchen listing, this rom is not in there so I have no option but upload the framework, ui and htc framework file.

[MOD][31.08.2013] White Percentage Batteries, ARHD 3x.x & other Sense ROMs

Hi there,
this battery mod is a continuation/addition of my discontinued mod:
[MOD] Battery White Circle, increments 1%, ARHD & other Sense based ROMs
The circle batteries from the above mentioned discontinued mod are of course still available in this mod installer. (Credits to UOT Kitchen for the circle images)
Further i've created 9 Stock style batteries in white, blue and green color in Photoshop from scratch.
I've added 2 Stock green and blue battery variants - with and without numbers; so you can get back to Stock if you like
All (eleven) batteries are "one percentage incrementation" batteries.
A new feature is that the mod installer contains only one SystemUI.apk!
All batteries variants will be created from this one by injecting your chosen battery variant images and zipaligning the created SystemUI.apk before installing it on your device.
In addition to the provided batteries you can flash custom batteries by copying your prefered battery png files to a folder "/sdcard/custom_battery".
Please check "Requirements & Installation / Troubleshooting -> Custom batteries" for installing instructions!
This mod is made for ARHD ROMs primary - but it should work on all other Sense ROMs (as reported, probably on HTC One X+ too) with the same base version number.
If you are not on ARHD ROM, please check if your ROM uses a customized SystemUI.apk, since it will be replaced by my mod and may cause unexpected
behaviour of your ROM!

Requirements & Installation / Troubleshooting:
Requirements:
ARHD ROMs for HTC One X, should work on other Sense ROMs for HTC One X with the same base version number as well (Feedback, if it works on other ROMs would be nice)
At least ~25MB of free space on sdcard for unpacking/packing/zipaligning processes during installation.
Installation:
Always install the most recent mod zip file - should be the bottommost of the available downloads for usual...
Move the mod zip file to your scard.
Restart your device, boot into recovery, install it from there
Custom batteries:
Copy your prefered battery png files to a folder "/sdcard/custom_battery".
These png files must have the correct pixel size of 50x50 pixels and you must provide at least 205 files.
It doesn't matter if you don't have files like "stat_sys_battery_*a.png" (check the file/folder structure list below for this filenames) - these files will be created by the mod if missing!
If you provide less than 205 battery png files, those files are not made for one percentage incrementation and SystemUI may not work correctly!
So provide your battery png's on sdcard, run mod installer from recovery and choose "Custom battery".
After installation, you can delete the folder "/sdcard/custom_battery"; or leave it if you want to use it again when updating to a new ROM version.
Here a list of the correct files and folder structure (on sdcard):

Troubleshooting:
Battery style doesn't change or is not the expected one:
My mod replaces SystemUI.apk in your /system/app folder. When you flashed my mod and afterwards another mod which in turn replaces (MY) SystemUI.apk,
you will never see any of my batteries.
The installation of this mod requires least ~25MB of free space on sdcard for unpacking/packing/zipaligning processes during installation.
The Installation may fail if there is not enough free space on sdcard.
Maybe you use an app which provides its own battery by "surpressing" system battery. In this case you will never see any of my batteries.
The Mod installer nags around "This is not a HTC One X, would you like to install anyway?", and after installation i can't see any of the provided batteries:
You are not using the device the mod is made for - there are dozens of possible reasons why the installation may fail.
Please ask an battery modder/themer in the forums of your device to integrate my batteries in his mod.
Please understand that i cannot perform any customization requests, since i just did this Battery variants originally for my personal use - but i want to share this of course with you.
I only checked the compatibility to the mentioned ROM, so if you don't know what you're doing or you want to try it on another ROM, please do a Nand backup first - better safe than sorry!
If you want to use my Battery Mod or internal, essential elements in your own mods or ROMs, credit me!

If you like my Battery Mod, a click on Thanks would be nice.

Thank you for this awesome mod. I use circle battery 100% white and it fits best the whole status bar.
If you ever want to make a stock white battery without %, it will be most appreciated.

Hi mate.
I am sorry it didn't work on your device.
Let us check why it didn't work.
Please tell me which mod file did you use. ( brush2_wpb_3.19.401.1.zip or brush2_wpb_3.19.401.1_plus_one.zip ?)
Please install it again; when almost finished with the installation there is an option to save the installation log file.
Save the log and remind the its path on sdcard (the log file is located in the same folder the mod installer gets started from)
Please send the log file as post attachment here, so i can check it for any installation/permission issues.
EDIT 11:31am:
I've re-checked installations of all battery variants of the most recent installer (brush2_wpb_3.19.401.1_plus_one.zip).
All installations were successfully and in every case i restarted Android to check if the correct battery is displayed.
Please check topic Installation/Troubleshooting in OP post again!

Hi mate,
I checked the log file you uploaded.
At the bottom of the log I noticed, that some essential libs are missing/ or corrupted in your ROM.
It looks like you should re-flash your ROM, to get your device back to a consistent state.
So its not a mod installation issue - its more a corrupted ROM.

Really strange,
your log file should definitely issues regarding missing or currupted certain system libs.
Nobody else have such issues with my mod.
Which battery would you like to install?
I will create a standard updater-zip for you with your chosen battery for ARHD 20.x, so we can check some basic functions on your device.

Hi skeltukas,
i finished the updater-zip with "battery circle white" for ARHD 20.x - and you can find it attached to this post.
[ MD5 : 4606ef201f76935fa59cc21b548cb02c ]
This should work on your device - but the main problem with your device/rom is still not fixed...
You should try to re-flash ROM, then immediately my mod - and afterwards no other mod!
Then check if it works.
Maybe some other mod or theme on your device causes these issues.
Hope it helps,
Regards,
brush2

Have the same problem like you. Trying to install stock green battery with % and the battery stays the same after reflashing rom and mod.
Using a clean ARHD 20.1 rom.
Hope that you will find a way to fix that.
Hey I'm also getting no change after installation
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

Tried a different mod right now and also didn't work. Uploaded my installation log this time.
I really like your battery mods, they seem very clear with precise resolution and dpi (can't find any battery mods like that one :good
I hope the you will find a way to fix that soon. I'm impatient to give this mod a try.
