Like the title says, is there any way to increase the internal memory of my Wildfire? I'm running cm7 and every time I install an app, it says that I'm running low on internal memory .
Thanks in advance.
Never mind. Already found the answer. Can the moderator please close this thread?

I have the same problem with my Desire. I've moved some application on the SD card with app2sd. Now I have 10-15 applications in the phone memory and only 30 MB free space !!!!! .... is there another way to free some space?
I've noticed if you've installed a Rom on top of another Rom without wiping complete data it reduces your memory.

Hi,
I need your help. I've got a rooted desire running Oxygen 2.0RC ROM (thanks AdamG).
Question is...I keep running out of space when installing apps. I've seen references to "A2SD and EXT2/3/4" and so forth around the forum.
Can someone explain to me what they are and how I can somehow fool my desire into thinking my 16Gb micro SD card is part of its internal memory. I've already moved as many apps as I can to SD card but I keep running out of space.
Is it even possible to fool the desire into thinking the SD card is internal memory??
thanks in advance!
First of all, you're posting this in the wrong forum- this belongs in the Q n A section.
What you need to do is to use an A2SD+ paritition. Download Rom Manager, and make a partition with 512mb and 0mb swap. This will "extend" your internal storage and give you loads more space.

Thanks Samleung.
Just tried that. Seems to have worked so far. Am i right to assume that I have now extended my space by 512mb?
It's not necessarily an extension per say. From now on, your apps will still be installed on the internal memory, but with greatly reduced memory needs as it will be installed to the 512mb partition as well. Download "Quick System Info" to see how much of the 512mb has been used.
I suggest you reinstall your rom, just to be extra sure everything is installed there.
Remember to post in the correct section! PM me if you have any more questions.
Hello~!
My phone is Verizon Droid incredible, and it was just upgrade to gingerbread.
But, I have too little phone memory now.
So, I want to increase my phone memory from my internal storage (eMMC).
How can I expend my phone memory from my eMMC memory?
My Android version is 2.3.4 and baseband is 2.15.10.07.07.
Also, it is not root yet.
Thanks~!

If your asking if you can use the emmc storage space as space for your apps the answer is no.
I assume you are getting the low space warrning in your notification bar. This is caused when the /data/data partition becomes full. You can either move apps to sd, use link2sd, or you can try jermaine and tiny's ext4_no_data_imit mod. The first 2 can be used without rooting, the ext4 mod needs root but in my opinion is the best option.
Hi.
My desire will not recognize the internal storage. Root explorer shows another 202.18mb left but the software shows 15. This has been a persistent problem since CM7. I am currently running JellyNow. It's an awesome rom, but the storage space indicator is getting anoying. Is there ar eason for this? And more importantly is there a way to fix it? It has happened with every rom from Mildwild to PA 2.+.
Help? I am fairly capable at these things.
I got the phone used with CM7 on it, could it be that hidden somewhere internally?
Thanks.

For more storage, check out the partitioning guide in my sig. You will get all the space you want.

to increase the internal memory from 380MB to 420MB is flashing the LT18i firmware (LT18i_4.1.B.0.587.ftf) by unchecking the "kernel" checkbox. there's no other way to increase it more than that....ever.

Wrong. It is possible to do that by using an ext position on your memory card. Please do some reading up before posting answers.
Here is a link that shows you how to do it. Take note that this is for ICS only. You may need to look around if you're looking for a GB or JB version.

This does not increase internal memory, it only changes the partitions size.
There is no way to increase internal memory, however some part of the SDcard can be assigned to be regarded as additional memory.
