New (really comparable) benchmark from Chainfire - Defy General

for all those benchmarkhungry people out there: here is a really good (since really comparable) benchmark for your defy:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134768
it takes dual-core configuration into account (unlike quadrand) and isn't likely to be fooled by rom modifications (unlike quadrant). i hope you don't mind that there is no fancy 3d animation (unlike in quadrant). read the thread in order to compare your results with other devices.
btw. my defy running miui 1.6.17 @ 1,2ghz scores 2897
happy benching!

3771,1299,2287
Rom 2.3.4 1ghz Jboogie ginger

3832, 1345, 2339 @ 1GHz, 2.2.2 CEE, deodex and manually optimised.

3905, 1359, 2377 (very close to the Nexus S scores) on 2.3.3 stock leaked ROM (1 Ghz)

5099,1727,3075 (JBoogie3 Blurry Ginger with GreenBreadMod, OC 1,3Ghz)

Post your daily driver meaning full functionality

I have the oppurtunity to pit a stock evo(my wife's) vs my rooted Fresh 1.0.1, Samdroid Frozen Eclair with jit, Netarchy 3.7.2b, and setcpu.
The test- Stock evo 998mhz vs My Evo Setcpu 245 -537mhz on demand
Mflops- Stock 5.1 My Evo 10.2
Quandrant - Stock 419 My Evo 462
NenaMark - Stock 10.2fps My Evo 11.8fps
Neocore- Stock 24.6 My Evo 25.3
Until Froyo is out this is my everyday driver(Daily Driver meaning full phone functionality 4g, voicemail, everything) is set as above with setcpu @245mhz - 537mhz on demand. I do this to lessen battery drain. For me it has been the best performance/conservation setup to date on this site. Everything runs smoothly from hd videos converted with handbrake to internet surfing. For me experiencing no tearing and still getting 54fps although less cpu gives a higher stdev. If I need more power I run 998mhz or overclock to 1125mhz.
Scores @ 1152mhz
Mflops 21.27
Quandrant 863
Nenamark 15.6
Neocore 27.5
Thanks for reading Now what you got??? lol

Benchmark

Hi, i would like to start a new post to comment the difference between roms in terms of speed/battery duration, so please post your benchmark points and estimated duration time of battery.
thanks
this should not be in dev section.
well, since it's already here, i'll give my input anyway;
tmo & uk versions are roughly the same while pl version is noticably faster as far as benchmark goes.
i just got 1183 @ quadrant
1ghz/52vsel
UK 3.4.2-117 (Froyo) @ jboogie3's blurlessginger4 (final)
will run another one after a reboot.
/edit
1130 after reboot
/edit 2
now 1203 :B
idc, as long as it runs as smooth as it does now
Stock China Froyo - bloatware removed
I get scores from 1200 to 1280, most of the times it's around 1230-1240 (800mhz)
This is the best and the fastest ROM i tried, by the way i tried all the other Froyo ROMs* except the PL deblured one.
Edit: *I tried all the other "downgradable" Froyo ROMs.
I'm on UK 3.4.2-117 stock FW
All the motoblur stuff is installed
1.1Ghz @ 62 Vsel
1473 Quadrant score
Battery with 3g and Wifi standby time is somehere around the 50-55 hours.

i dug out my old scores.
PL gives me [email protected] [email protected]
UK gives me [email protected] [email protected]
both without bloatwares
fresh(+ Black status bar mod) UK 3.4.2-117 fw @ 1.3ghz
fresh(+ all Black status bar mod) Orange Deblur BlurlessGingerFroyo 4(Final) with performance update @ 1.3ghz
both using same settings in SetVsel all in all very happy with my phone
HK 2.51.0 version. Got 900+ at stock speed, and 1200+ at 1000Hz/52Vsel.
Actually there really no need to overclock in my case. Just feel better to have 1g CPU
Quadrant says nothing i have got 1804 on stock +OC orange froyo but it is totaly unstable even without oc.

Can not post links :/
Here are some screenshots from jboogies Rom, running on 800 Mhz, 1Ghz and 1,2Ghz.
ok, thank you guys. this post it's becoming very interesting. xD
So that in conclusion. Which rom do you think it's more stable/fast/better battery draining?
Jboogie3 stems nice to me so far
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
do you recommend it to me better than others?
I just ran Quadrant Standard then and got a score of 1059.
That is running the stock AUS Telstra firmware with root access.
Is this good, bad what?
cpu @ 1200mhz + higgsy 3.4.2 rc2 rom: 1578 pts

That's just normal. I get 1080 to 1120 on stock sytemversion 2.2.1 with the standard 2.1 Eclair. In use it is smooth (only the appdrawer is laggy but how often do you go there?). Note: my first run is always a little slower.
Curious if the european update to systemversion 2.5.1 from Moto is making a difference, It's available now; will update next week.
(using Pays 2.0) 1211 points at stock 800Mhz, 1593 points at 1200Mhz (w/ default vsel 53)
Hi
I set mine at 60/1200, quadrant shows 1615 ..
on this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933555
Thanks.

requesting moderator to move this thread in general section
I'm using miui.us 1.6.24 and my phone is a flyer. I can overclock to 1.3ghz but stay at 1.2ghz. My battery life is around 30 hours and my Max quadrant score @ 1.2 ghz was 2884 at 1.3ghz it is 3064. Neocore I've yet to try. Cm7 did NOT agree with my battery as I got 6 hours from that rom
Sent from my MB525 using XDA Premium App
1. Mine is 800mhz, underclocked and undervolted for batery saving
2. 2.2.2 nordic 177 flawless
3. yes, not good enough for my taste tho, feels like not realy meant for defy.
4. for me, great!! 2 days on stand by, 24 hours of normal use (few calls, many emails and some bt headset), 10 hours of HEAVY use (bt headset + 3g/wifi internet radio all day + games)
5. 1200 ~ 1400
6. dont think so, locked bootloader =[

Itty bitty defy modded

Minimal modded to my defy seeing it was my everyday phone. Now that I have the defy+ I'm going hands in the the defy been reading and reading now I would like input from other users.
So.....
What modes are best for the defy?
Make it faster, responsive with no lags or glitches.
I'm on cm 7.2 froyo kernel thinking bout upgrading to gb kernel. Any suggestions?
Also should add its OCD at 1000. Should i bring it up to 1100 or 1200. Is there a big difference? And what settings should I use.
Here could be a start!
And as far as I know CM7 sets your Defy's max frequency at 1GHz.

[Q] Better Overclock

Hallo community, i got a xperia arc LTi15, and today i installed Hybrid MooDeD JB-ICS 1.0.2 and Arcknight 3.5 kernel, i also overclocked my phone to 1.613 GHz and i wanted to benchmark it, after benchmark i got a high score compared to my old score from the stock rom and kernel, but i found out that other people with same xperia arc and with the proccessor overclocked to 1.5 Ghz or 1.4Ghz had way better scores than me, not in CPU but in graphics, (about double) do you know how i can improve this score too??
Thanks in advanced
