Hi everyone, I was wondering if it's possible to remove simlock once you have S-OFF and alpharev hboot, flashing a custom radio for example.
Well. Can someone tell me the difference between sim lock and carrier lock.
[but i previously saw that once if sim lock is removed, it will be in a removed state even after formatting the phone.]
Is it possible to port the gfree from desire&others to our device?
How this works?
C'mon guys this worths a try!

hi, if I overwrite my current rom (B&b), I have the risk to lock the device again?
I would like to install a new rom but I'm afraid to lock the device.
which version you recommend me?
thx.
What is for you "Lock the device"?
Do you mean CID lock?
Normally you don't loose your CID unlock if done it once. But you can allways Run USPL again.
If you mean SIM lock, i think you won't have any problem with that. Once unlocked allways unlocked.
Cheers
I mean CID Lock, thanks for your response!.
Hi
This might (probably will) sound like a silly question. But I'm looking at getting a Desire HD thats locked to T-Mobile UK (coming from Dell Streak). I've been round a few forums now and I have seen that in order to put a custom rom on it I would need a 'Gold Card' as its sim locked.
Now the question is 'Will getting a gold card for it and installing a custom rom unlock it? Or would it be easier to just get it unlocked before i consider the custom rom?
Thanks
John
Goldcard will not unlock it, it just allows you to use my downgrade guide. Then after downgrading you can use my Radio S-OFF tool (link in signature), which can fully SIM unlock your phone.
Ok thanks for your fast reply. At least I know what I will need to do now
Can my network block my IMEI, if my phone is
ACE PVT ENG S -OFF AND
CID 11111111
or would I need to use one of the IMEI website to receive a code.

Simple answer: no.

It seems that they can block your phone. As sim card has no service.
Unless there is a why to force the sim to work through some other method I don't no about. Bootloader? Recovery Menu?
UPDATE.
I have started reading the links in your sig, hopefully answer will be in their. Maybe re install CID? To achive sim free again. I think that although I had CID it was still on the ORANGE network.
Maybe this is what's stopping the ORANGE SIM to receive a Signal.
Hopefully I find the answer before you reply.
Cheers.

Im going to try a Radio 26.09.04.11.M2 as this is not tied to any network. To see if this works,
but as i was going about it i notice unlock sim in the GUI of easy radio tool 2.2.. I have had a look for a how too, but with no luck and maybe this is not the answer any way..
i will continue too look for the answer..
UPDATE
Radio change has given the same result.. IMEI GSM must be locked on the phone(reported lost). As the sim card works on other phones, but not on the now blocked phone.
Will continue to look for answer.
CID ORANG001 ( this is the CID the phone is now on ) i think then if i use your easy radio tool to change to HTC__001 would this unlock the sim or do i need to run sim unlock also??
SIMLOCK Back to ON..
This seems to be a issue.
I need to return SIMLOCK-ON. Now i think this is not possible as when i removed the sim-lock over a year ago, a file was saved to the SD card. Now without this file i cant put SIMLOCK back on.
CAN i clone/copy the details from a new factory fresh phone with the same network as the old phone i.e no CID,S-OFF or rooted!!! back on the old phone.
Could this help with getting the rooted phone back to SIMLOCK-ON.
As all i can achive is Radio S-ON Stock CID returned to network, but SIM LOCK is still set off. In the BOOTLOADER is a SIMLOCK but fails as no file on the SD card.
Can these details not be returned now?? Whats are the details in this file??
hi
I have a desire which I have rooted and S-OFF 'd and also put 4ext recovery and alpha-rev hboot
do I need to perform more shenanigans to sim unlock? or is that covered by S-OFF ?
thanks
nat
s-off is just security off, it has no effect on ur sim.
if u search Desire Android Development theres a tool there that can unlock ur sim card. think its called "HTC Desire sim unlock" or something like that.
but for flashing roms etc, it doesnt matter if ur sim is unlocked or not.

i think its best to unlock your sim you never know when you might need to put someone elses sim in your phone & if you've gone to all the trouble of rooting it you might as well unlock the sim to then its completly under your control & its not hard lol
I'm preparing to root my HOV. I see that there is SIMLOCK option when I go in bootloader. My phone is carrier locked, but I can ask them for unlock code once my contract expires. On my hTC Desire I was asked to enter code once I inserted another carrier's SIM. I don't remember there was this SIMLOCK option on Desire. I unlocked it before i rooted it.
If I go with root and install custom recovery, will I still have that option to unlock? Do I need it or I will be able to enter unlock code on insertion of another SIM, just like on Desire?
Thanks for your help.
In case it's gone, can I get it back with RUU if needed?
Well, unlocked and flashed recovery. Simlock option is still there.
