I just updated my rooted EVO with the ROM stocked deodexed with the Gingerbread ROM by xHausx and flashed the Radio updates. My problem is that the bootloader loads too fast for the mp3 while playing. What can I do about this problem for Gingerbread Stock ROM deodexed?
bootloader? you mean bootanimation right? and nothing, booting fast is a good thing.

Its an option somewhere in the settings. Its called "fast boot" I don't know how it works but its really fast and if you planned on getting into hboot manually your gonna have to disable it first.

Not true you can open up the terminal emulator.
Type su, press enter
Then type reboot bootloader
saves you from having to disable fastboot and only takes a second to do.

The quickboot app works well too
Your correct. I meant the bootanimation. I want to run the bootanimation at normal speed. Also if I put another bootanimation in the place of the original, which I had working with Froyo, will it work on Gingerbread?

If it worked in froyo it will work in gingerbread. But like I said you have to disable fastboot for it to run at normal speed.
Go settings>applications>fastboot
Just uncheck it and it will start at normal speed like your used to

I have it unchecked and it still speeds up without being in synced with the music.
I just uploaded a different bootanimation onto it, and it worked. The ROM seems to speed up the bootanimation without it being on fast boot.
Good to know. Ill keep that in mind for when others ask

Is there a way of getting the hibernate option to work on a non-HD firmware? It was quite a nice option to have on the phone when I ran the HD firmware, but I have now reverted back to sense 2.2 as I use the camera. My Wife got her DesireZ yesterday and I'm jealous of the boot time again.
I wasn't sure if it was something that could be added or not.

Just put a link to the app on your homescreen.

Wow, I know I do not post here a lot but the app is $.72 man... come on....
Most of these devs don't even ask for anything, and those of them that do, should get it if it is a decent product. Is paying $.72 REALLY that hard to do considering the amount of time the dev put into the app to make peoples lives just that much easier?
Sorry for the rant.
Edit: And Just now I'm realizing this post is graveyard material, go me.
Yeah I know this is a bit late, but I found a free app that allows you to hot reboot. It's called ROM Toolbox.

First and formost my phone is on stock eb13 with genocide kernel, rfs, and rooted with oneclickroot v2.5.5 and am still really new to all of this so please help me out.
First I was wondering if I can flash bonsai right away or if I need the new clockwork 3.x with ext4?

Pretty sure Bonsai scans your phone and formats it for EXT4 if it isn't already. It backs up your data and restores it, too. Just do a complete backup then flash it. If it is a no go, just restore.

Take out the battery. Put it back in and start your phone again. If the same happens repeat the battery pull but this time hold down on the volume bar and THEN press the power button to restart your phone. After it starts up in bootloader select recovery by moving the volume bar and then hit the power button again. This will bring you back to recovery where you can flash the rom again or restore your backup.

Also keep in mind that some roms can take up to 5 minutes to load the first time. Normally (but definetely NOT always) as long as it doesn't keep reloading the boot animation, everything is fine - the rom is building your file system on your first boot.

if you took the time to read about kernels and what they are you would know.
but, i'm in a good mood today:
Kernels govern your cpu speed and how to scale it. Some are locked to a certain frequency set and some are made adjustable, but you have to get an app that interacts with the kernel otherwise it runs at whatever it is preset to.
SetCPU is the one I used, but I know there are plenty out there that others would recommend and swear by in a heartbeat.

I'm using Virtuous rom 1.02 with the advanced kernel. I clocked mine at 475-1100mhz with a low battery profile switch at 275-887 (i think).
Check your rom specific kernel to make sure it runs best for your rom. The rest is personal preference.

*sigh* Give a man a fish and he will eat all day. Teach a man to fish and he will drink beer all day.
Since you're on CyanogenMod, I recommend Pershoot's kernel (available through ROM Manager). If you're feeling bold, download Flippy's latest kernel. Since I'm running the CM-based PyroMod, Pershoot's kernel is built in.
Everytime i flash a rom do i need to flash clockwork mod recovery?

If you open clockwork and your current recover is the same as newest version then there is no need to reflash recovery. The only reason to reflash clockwork is if there is a newer version out.

Ok for those of you who are not code-savy, you probably haven't been using our phone's SRS WOWHD sound which is comparable to Voodoo Sound. Tested on CM7.
In your terminal, type this:
snd3254 -dspmode
You'll get the list of hardware level sound modification that's available to Dinc2.
hp = headphone
spk = speaker
Enjoy!

What rom are you running? If you are running sense, you should just use your setting in the system settings.
Sometimes the codec will disable the speaker sound when you enable SRS headphones. You should enable SRS for the speaker too, then it will get its sound back 'with SRS'!
Oh and modifying this way will only last until you reboot, so if you want to auto enable this after each reboot, make a script and apply it upon each boot like I did.
In case anyone is curious, I set mine up to run on boot using Script Manager from the android market. I made a script (called snd3254) under /system/etc/init.d/. After doing so I set the permissions to -r----x--t and long pressed the item.
Choose the option "Open As", then "script/executable".
From there, select "run on boot" and "run as root," then just save and exit, reboot phone, and enjoy!
My script looks like the one below. Be sure to modify the number to the desired dspmode. I chose srs_v_hp (for headset/headphone listening primarily).
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
# srs_v_hp
snd3254 -dspmode 12
For those interested, I'm using MIUI 1.7.22, Tiamat Kernel 1.0.3, and Juwe11's RAM Optimizer - Incredible 2.
