Ok for those of you who are not code-savy, you probably haven't been using our phone's SRS WOWHD sound which is comparable to Voodoo Sound. Tested on CM7.
In your terminal, type this:
snd3254 -dspmode
You'll get the list of hardware level sound modification that's available to Dinc2.
hp = headphone
spk = speaker
Enjoy!
ONLY WORKS OF GB NOT FROYO
Should have mentioned it works on rooted phones only for those that are stuck on stock gingerbread.

dsp app is just an eq app. It can't really do anything special. This is your hardware level sound mod. You can't really compare the two.

You are either running a rom that's not built for Dinc2 or you removed snd3254 by accident. You gotta have the codec for this to run.

What rom are you running? If you are running sense, you should just use your setting in the system settings.
Sometimes the codec will disable the speaker sound when you enable SRS headphones. You should enable SRS for the speaker too, then it will get its sound back 'with SRS'!
Oh and modifying this way will only last until you reboot, so if you want to auto enable this after each reboot, make a script and apply it upon each boot like I did.
In case anyone is curious, I set mine up to run on boot using Script Manager from the android market. I made a script (called snd3254) under /system/etc/init.d/. After doing so I set the permissions to -r----x--t and long pressed the item.
Choose the option "Open As", then "script/executable".
From there, select "run on boot" and "run as root," then just save and exit, reboot phone, and enjoy!
My script looks like the one below. Be sure to modify the number to the desired dspmode. I chose srs_v_hp (for headset/headphone listening primarily).
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
# srs_v_hp
snd3254 -dspmode 12
For those interested, I'm using MIUI 1.7.22, Tiamat Kernel 1.0.3, and Juwe11's RAM Optimizer - Incredible 2.

If it worked in froyo it will work in gingerbread. But like I said you have to disable fastboot for it to run at normal speed.
Go settings>applications>fastboot
Just uncheck it and it will start at normal speed like your used to

I have it unchecked and it still speeds up without being in synced with the music.
I just uploaded a different bootanimation onto it, and it worked. The ROM seems to speed up the bootanimation without it being on fast boot.

For me, setting "ro.hdmi.enable=true" does the job. I tried your com.qc.hdmi_out line also, but found that I had difficulty getting consistent results, but devices may differ. ROMs earlier than 10.0.0 Stable often crashed after using HDMI, after pulling out the cable, even though the video worked well up till that point. But recent ROMs seems to be stable for me.
It is a frustration for me that those who (probably) know about the deeper aspects of this issue (why it was never turned on in the default configuration) never comment on it, so those who want it to work spend lots of time fiddling with it. On the teamhacksung site, a statement was made that it will never work because it involves proprietary code, but that was some time ago, so who knows? The fact that it works well seems to suggest that all the needed code is present and functional, so the mystery is why it is never addressed by the developers explicitly, or turned on by default, or have a setting to turn it on as Galaxy S had.

Ok you may have just installed the wrong one. Delete the one you have installed first. Then reboot and reinstall the new one!
Here's the one I used:
http://db.tt/XTj0YXNH
And you only need one installed!
As far as the other sound file's, I highlighted which one I downloaded from the viper page.
You just have to use a file explorer to move the files to the correct folder!
Once your done, start a song then open viper audio mod. And change your setting! From there...
FYI:
Keep in mind that if you have a Bluetooth earpiece connected. And then if you connect into the headphone jack. It'll default to the Bluetooth sound for you headphone jack. Until you disconnect the Bluetooth. Then it'll default to the headset setting in VIPER..

Ok I taught I gave you just the apk.

But you can use the first one I gave you also. I think I use the file on the right of that zip.
The apk I used was like 1.28mb..
Cpu setting..
After install, open, then install driver. It's the last one on the list A9/15..

Then something is wrong. Did you perform a reboot after you installed the driver?
Because all mine work. Headset, speaker, Bluetooth, they all change the sound. If you have some head phones use those to set it up.
What steps do you do. Do you know what to turn on and what not to? All the info is on the viper page!!
Check post#2 the sound setting are there...

Yes I did the reboot. And the thing is when I tried to set it up with my headphones (audio technica brand) no setting changed any sound. I could turn anything on or off and no change would reflect.
