Is there a way of getting the hibernate option to work on a non-HD firmware? It was quite a nice option to have on the phone when I ran the HD firmware, but I have now reverted back to sense 2.2 as I use the camera. My Wife got her DesireZ yesterday and I'm jealous of the boot time again.
I wasn't sure if it was something that could be added or not.
Cheers
I think there is a quick boot app on the market but you need to be rooted.

Sounds ideal. Do you know what it's called?
I'm off to search "Quick boot"
Edit: Quick boot on the marketplace is a quick way to enter the recovery mode etc.
It's called quick boot.

Oh my bad I didn't read the description of the app sorry. Only way would be to use a sense HD Rom then.

I rooted my phone back in november, around the same time everyone else did it, and everything worked fine I suppose. However, lately, I've been having trouble with flashing the newer roms. Sometimes, the market would be missing when I flash a rom. Many times, I'm just stuck in a bootloop. Sometimes, apps malfunction, specifically embeded system media players. I've also had encounters typing text into a text field where the cursor moves to different parts of the field randomly. NONE of these problems have been solved by reflashing the rom. I'm using koush's latest recovery, 3.0.0.5, as well.
However, I don't have the most current hboot version on the g2. The version I have is 0.76blahblahblah. Are these problems being caused by an outdated hboot?

I used the visionary temproot/permroot method on theunlockr.com. I forgot to mention that I actually have the engineering s-off. Could that be why I'm having trouble with the roms?

I just updated my rooted EVO with the ROM stocked deodexed with the Gingerbread ROM by xHausx and flashed the Radio updates. My problem is that the bootloader loads too fast for the mp3 while playing. What can I do about this problem for Gingerbread Stock ROM deodexed?
bootloader? you mean bootanimation right? and nothing, booting fast is a good thing.

Its an option somewhere in the settings. Its called "fast boot" I don't know how it works but its really fast and if you planned on getting into hboot manually your gonna have to disable it first.

Not true you can open up the terminal emulator.
Type su, press enter
Then type reboot bootloader
saves you from having to disable fastboot and only takes a second to do.

The quickboot app works well too
Your correct. I meant the bootanimation. I want to run the bootanimation at normal speed. Also if I put another bootanimation in the place of the original, which I had working with Froyo, will it work on Gingerbread?

If it worked in froyo it will work in gingerbread. But like I said you have to disable fastboot for it to run at normal speed.
Go settings>applications>fastboot
Just uncheck it and it will start at normal speed like your used to

I have it unchecked and it still speeds up without being in synced with the music.
I just uploaded a different bootanimation onto it, and it worked. The ROM seems to speed up the bootanimation without it being on fast boot.
Good to know. Ill keep that in mind for when others ask

Doesn't work for me.
Only roms based on honeycomb use the power/home screenshot.. otherwise the bog standard gingerbread dosnt.
I don't know about honeycomb (Android 3.0), but pure Sense 3.0 ROMs have that feature.
Also doesn't work for me, I'm using ARHD 5.2.0
+1 ,dont wrk for me either....!!!!!!

it works for me too on Virtuous 1.27.0. All sense 3.0 roms should be able to take screenshots.
Lol it supposed to work in virtuous. Its intended . For others if your phone isn't rooted n the cook for your rom haven't enabled it. It won't work at all. Stop wasting your time. Confirm it by reading first page of ur roms introduction.
Cheers

And I really don't want to fully reset the device so soon. I have a sneaky suspicion it may be due to the clock with weather ...Any other ideas?

today ive stuffed my desire into my ppcket. It was cool at first but half an hour later it was burning hot! I checked if ive opened gps or something but none. Ive also checked another pocket which contained Galaxy Ace. It was opened too but cold. Ive also got something before: google acct removed from the phone but i didnt touch it, camera went black and rom toolbox's verification failed. Does anyone know what are the possible causes and how to fix? have to take battery off. ManU kernel with Aosp gingerbread

In your signature is written that you use LeeDroid Sense rom. If it's like that you shouldn't use Manu's kernel cause it's made for AOSP roms, maybe that's the problem.

you could also try an app called watchdoglite
it alerts you when a certain app uses processing power above a certain threshold.
