Desire boiling hot! - Desire General

Hi,
today ive stuffed my desire into my ppcket. It was cool at first but half an hour later it was burning hot! I checked if ive opened gps or something but none. Ive also checked another pocket which contained Galaxy Ace. It was opened too but cold. Ive also got something before: google acct removed from the phone but i didnt touch it, camera went black and rom toolbox's verification failed. Does anyone know what are the possible causes and how to fix? have to take battery off. ManU kernel with Aosp gingerbread
PS ive changed kernel before in the afternoon but it didnt went hot until evening

In your signature is written that you use LeeDroid Sense rom. If it's like that you shouldn't use Manu's kernel cause it's made for AOSP roms, maybe that's the problem.

you could also try an app called watchdoglite
it alerts you when a certain app uses processing power above a certain threshold.

Phone getting stuck a low clock speeds

Every once in a while when I wake my phone up, the clock speed stays at what it gets set to when the screen is off. The profiles seem to not work at this point until I reboot. I'm running stable cyanogenmod. Is there any way to remedy this?

I thought that I had this problem on my cliq... turns out that the profiles were switching but the widget wasnt updating...could that be your issue?

No. I did have that problem on my G1 but on this phone when it says it's running at 300 Mhz, it is. Apps open slower, linpack is low. It's definitely getting stuck somwhere.

I wkuld recomend auto detecting speeds to make sure its got the right info for your kernel. Then i would reboot the phone. Also try turning the widget off. If your still stuck uninstall setcpu and start frrom scratch. I would reflash my kernel at this point as well.

Battery Calibration question

On the "Battery Calibration" app it says in the instructions that it should be done when flashing a new rom. But I'm wondering if that really matters, I flashed cm7 bout 2 weeks ago. can someone tell me if that matters??
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Well it doesn't really matter but it is recommend to do so.

Whenever you flash a new ROM, your battery stats file gets deleted so, it normally takes a few days of battery cycles for the battery stats to level off properly, unless you delete the file again when at 100%.
There's really no need for this app, unless you have the room for it, as most recoveries have a means to delete battery stats (or you can just do it manually via the terminal).

Set Cpu refuses to detect temperature

set cpu seems to be stuck at 25.2 degrees Celsius i have tried all the wiping and uninstalling and re-installing possible is there a fix for this or am i stuck
Try flashing an older/recent Radio.
Your desire z / g2 might not have a core temerature reader built In.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Just tried flashing radios and that did not work. Is it really possible that some g2s have core temp readers and some dont

Dude flashing a radio won't fix that. Sure wish people would quit telling others to flash a radio for everything that goes wrong on their devices.

I didn't think it would work I was just really hopeful cause the temperature profiles was one of the main reasons I use setcpu. I'm just hoping its not a hardware issue cause I don't want to have to get a warranty replacement, I just got done with the whole rooting fiasco and don't want to go through that again.

Have you tried re-calibrating your battery?
Yeah dear I have tried but battery celebration apps required 100% charging for celebration.. but my device has always showing under 60% charging that's why its not works..

Is it in your status bar that it shows the incorrect value?
Try going to Settings > About Phone > Status
It should tell you the correct value there. If it still shows up as the incorrect value i believe it could be a problem with your actual battery.

In your case, you don't need an app for calibration. Since you can't get your phone to show correct status, reboot into Recovery, go to Advanced and Wipe Battery Stats. Reboot phone, Run Wifi, Bluetooth, Torch, Music and anything that could drain battery faster altogether until the battery runs down and switches itsef off. Try recharging and see the result.
Hope it helps.
Cheers.
Thank u so much to all of u..

This is strange... Changing the battery is not an option as it works well... Have you tried flashing another ROM?
If I may ask, did this battery issue started when you flashed CM7?

Its happened to quite a few people since I've been around this forum, dont think anyone has pinned down a particular reason for it happening and the only explanation from HTC is that its a mobo fault........
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
May be its a mobo fault but this is truth that I am facing this issue after flashing cm7.2..!
I have been told this rom working almost perfactly and such a nice and smoother one but before I was used Sunabh Rom v.1.1 by Vibhus which is also nice rom and had never facing issue like this on my previous rom..

Try revert to your previous ROM and see if your battery shows its true status.
Its not yet possible.. I have been delete nandroid backup of my previou rom

i have been experiencing the same problem with the battery .. doesn't seem to get past the 70% mark. I started noticing this few weeks into using CM7 ( currently using CM7.2 RC3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698029 the issue still remains) At first i found out that if i reboot my phone after putting it to charge , it would charge all the way to 100 %. But slowly that too started fading and now nothing i do gets it above 70%. even got a new battery to no avail, and i cant get more than 5 to 6 hrs with the battery .. the battery drain is incredible
am i using an incorrect kernel or something ?? any help is appreciated .. thanks in advance !
My opinion is its something to do with your phone itself, if it was software/kernel related we would all most likely get the same problem as we are all using the same piece of software.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I too have this problem mine does not charge beyond 79% sometimes 75%. With my experience this is too do with the kernel that CM7 uses. If I restart the device it will show 100%.
If I go back to the stock kernel the charging goes all the way to 100%.
Either my charger has broken or its the overclock-able kernel.
I have tried every other method out there.
The battery performance is good BTW.

[Help] Screen blinking/blue lines on it

Hi guys,
I have a problem, hope you guys can help me.
Yesterday, when i put my galaxy on charge (I was watching a video at same time) the screen started blinking and in full screen video's appeared some blue lines :\ What is causing this? its a software or hardware problem? It is not the first time that happens. After this, the screen was blinking a few hours even when rebooted.
I'll be waiting for a reply,
bes regards
