I rooted my phone back in november, around the same time everyone else did it, and everything worked fine I suppose. However, lately, I've been having trouble with flashing the newer roms. Sometimes, the market would be missing when I flash a rom. Many times, I'm just stuck in a bootloop. Sometimes, apps malfunction, specifically embeded system media players. I've also had encounters typing text into a text field where the cursor moves to different parts of the field randomly. NONE of these problems have been solved by reflashing the rom. I'm using koush's latest recovery, 3.0.0.5, as well.
However, I don't have the most current hboot version on the g2. The version I have is 0.76blahblahblah. Are these problems being caused by an outdated hboot?

I used the visionary temproot/permroot method on theunlockr.com. I forgot to mention that I actually have the engineering s-off. Could that be why I'm having trouble with the roms?

Is there a way of getting the hibernate option to work on a non-HD firmware? It was quite a nice option to have on the phone when I ran the HD firmware, but I have now reverted back to sense 2.2 as I use the camera. My Wife got her DesireZ yesterday and I'm jealous of the boot time again.
I wasn't sure if it was something that could be added or not.
Cheers
I think there is a quick boot app on the market but you need to be rooted.

Sounds ideal. Do you know what it's called?
I'm off to search "Quick boot"
Edit: Quick boot on the marketplace is a quick way to enter the recovery mode etc.
It's called quick boot.

Oh my bad I didn't read the description of the app sorry. Only way would be to use a sense HD Rom then.

Try flashing an older/recent Radio.
Your desire z / g2 might not have a core temerature reader built In.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Just tried flashing radios and that did not work. Is it really possible that some g2s have core temp readers and some dont

Dude flashing a radio won't fix that. Sure wish people would quit telling others to flash a radio for everything that goes wrong on their devices.

I didn't think it would work I was just really hopeful cause the temperature profiles was one of the main reasons I use setcpu. I'm just hoping its not a hardware issue cause I don't want to have to get a warranty replacement, I just got done with the whole rooting fiasco and don't want to go through that again.

I have similar problem but no need pull batery, just a reboot and it will fast again.
Try running a cache cleaner. I have noticed some programs doing that and I run cachecleanerng and it seems to fix it.

Can't reboot, its pretty much completely unresponsive.
As for the cache cleaner, doesn't do anything even after full wipe and fresh app install.

Simply put Google will ignore any bug reports of chrome on "unofficial" android releases such as ICS on desire Z, and cuz its not for gb, they wouldn't support the G2/DZ are all, so support inquiries are basically ignored.

I have tested Chrome on my Mimicry 1.4.0, based on ICS 4.0.4.
Chrome didn't run fully functional e.g. Fn key didn't work...
Wasn't working right for me either. Since it really isn't working for anyone which browser do people prefer instead?

Moving to Q&A
So I have been trying without a single success on multiple different root methods on this forum to root my little brother's mt3gs. I have never had this much trouble rooting before and I can't get anything to work at all. Is there any method at all? I'm about to give up.

Have you tried this way? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1189485
yeah i have tried that one. everytime the phone reboots to bootloader then it gives me the "140 fail error"
Never mind, for some reason after installing HTC sync it worked lol

I'm currently running icecoldsandwich 8.8. It runs perfectly. But whenever I try to install Jelly Time, it just gives me a black screen after the HTC logo. I have checked the sums, tried reinstalling, always do a full wipe, abs tried fixing permissions.
I've got it to boot with the kangbang kernel, but it just freezes and/or reboots soon after booting fully.
Any ideas? I've tried everything. Looking for a fresh outlook on this.

Using newest stable version of 4ext. Only happens with jelly bean roms. And I use format all except sd card. It's crazy.

Hmm looks like 4ext is still having hicups....looks like some people need to contact the developer of 4ext...maybe flash clockworkmod and then try that.....not dissing 4ext as that is what i personally use

Maybe you dont have full read write permissions. Try and reconfigure those. Mount your system as read/write.

I had a similar problem, but never got it to boot past the HTC logo. Fix here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813200. Obviously, I don't know if it will fix your problem...but it's a possibility.
Went into Root Explorer. System was in read only. I put it in read write. If that doesn't work I'll try updating the adsp firmware. Thanks for the tips!

And I tried flashing that stock ROM in that thread. I then tried flashing a JB ROM again. Same thing. Is my phone maybe broken? It seems like my options are thin, and I don't have an upgrade until May. -_-

That one. Otherwise, the ROM won't even get past the HTC logo. And when it does, I get to my google login details, or somewhere near that, and it freezes and reboots.
