So I have been trying without a single success on multiple different root methods on this forum to root my little brother's mt3gs. I have never had this much trouble rooting before and I can't get anything to work at all. Is there any method at all? I'm about to give up.

Never mind, for some reason after installing HTC sync it worked lol

I rooted my phone back in november, around the same time everyone else did it, and everything worked fine I suppose. However, lately, I've been having trouble with flashing the newer roms. Sometimes, the market would be missing when I flash a rom. Many times, I'm just stuck in a bootloop. Sometimes, apps malfunction, specifically embeded system media players. I've also had encounters typing text into a text field where the cursor moves to different parts of the field randomly. NONE of these problems have been solved by reflashing the rom. I'm using koush's latest recovery, 3.0.0.5, as well.
However, I don't have the most current hboot version on the g2. The version I have is 0.76blahblahblah. Are these problems being caused by an outdated hboot?

I used the visionary temproot/permroot method on theunlockr.com. I forgot to mention that I actually have the engineering s-off. Could that be why I'm having trouble with the roms?

I've rooted a bunch of Evos using unrevoked with no issues. I see you have T-Mobile under your avatar.......you are talking about an Evo, right?
Hi, no, I'm with sprint now, no problems except the damn unrevoked image on initial startup, how can I change that? What have I done to change this, help...

You can search for HTC's boot animation via the Android Development thread for any of the many available boot animations for the EVO 4G. Many of the thread promoting custom roms usually have a boot animation that can be flashed.

Tell her to suffer and stop bothering you until she lets you root it.
I'm jp I can't think of any extra steps to take if you have already done a factory reset.

Check to see if your imei number is still there. Settings, about phone, status. If it's blank you'll need to restore it via the methods in the android development section.

Did you guys do a factory reset after installing the OTA? i know this solved it on the international version.
Yea tried that too
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
I was having the same issue and thought it was caused by the OTA update.
It was really a problem with the SIM card being not being properly inserted or being dirty.
I took it out, cleaned contacts and inserted it again, pushing hard (not too hard or you might damage the "eject" mechanism).
Before this "fix" I got this error every few hours, after I did this a few days ago I haven't seen the error.
I get this too but at random times... and its not frequent enough for me to have issues with it.
Rogers on JB ROM I3

I started having this problem again. I looked at logcat and in three occasions just before the error in saw an error that mentioned some thermal protection.
Every time it said processor speed could not be set to 1.5 ghz and a couple of times there was also something about the modem and some thermal protection being available.
Every time phone was hot because media scanner was using to much resources.
I'll try to get a copy of the log and will post it here.
I'm on jb li3.

Has anybody ever seen a yellow screen that looks very similar to custom recovery, and says
"Device has detected a hardware reset"
I can take a picture when I get home, it doesn't do anything to me, but in one specific application if I try one specific command it sends me to this screen. I just reboot and then it optimizes applications and throws me back in as though nothing had happened.
Thoughts?

It happened to me. I sort of just shrugged it off though.
I think it's related to the root method tried, which one did you use?

I used the one click root
Isn't that the "demigod" thing we had back in the beginning? It's in the ATT forums. Can't remember what it meant at the moment though.

I had this issue when I did my root method. But try engine's method which hasn't effected my phone yet.
