it´s really a question that you can´t solve by yourself testing several roms?
i tested a lot of roms and the majority are stables and fast (always custom rom of course )) my current rom its wrote in my syg (it don´t means that the rest are worse....)simply ITS MY CURRENT ROM
I think that it hasn´t better answer.... the only thing that i can say is try several roms since @Seraphic pure android 2.3.3 to AOSP roms, themed roms.... and decide.
Yeah i went and used a few other rom's but to be fair i got the best out of Android Revolution, though i've also had RCMix rom's they are always good fun to use
I would recommend LeeDroid. It's stable, fast, and very well supported and updated by the developer. Highly customizable too
I'm using Revolution and love it. But it's really about testing out each ROM and seeing which one suits your needs. You'll be sure to find more and more ROMs you love. Then just pick the one you found the most usable and more to your style.
Obviously always make sure to check over new ROM updates to see if maybe another ROM offers something a bit more.

under my opinion, this is the best answer..
Try and play around flashing. Its also fun anyway. xD
Thank you guys. The only reason im reluctant on keep flashing roms is due to fear of bricking. I mean I spent £340 for the phone and I dont want it dead lol

Hi, I am currently a vibrant owner but I am getting sick of the GPS issues and the lack of support mainly a full source of 2.2 that runs good aside from just fast. Tmobile is sending me a G2 and I will have some time to see how I like it, I was looking for some input as far as roms and kernels go for if I decide to keep it.
I had a mytouch 3g before all this and loved the cyanogen and noticed there was a cyan rom for this and I would love to get some input on how it is, good or best or what have you. If you know of any better as far as functionality and speed go please toss me some idea so I can begin researching it.
There is a CyanogenMOD 6.1 (Android 2.2.1) ROM for the G2, They are actively working on CM7 (Android 2.3) and I would expect it to come out in the next month or so.
I'm still on the stock ROM because I'm waiting for CM7.
Expect the G2 to be similar to the G1 in terms of the amount and variety of roms. There appears to be quite a bit of support for this device.

Cyanogenmod and visionary have been the ones I've used and both are excellent. Cyanogenmod has been written about in how great it is, and visionary is a great sense rom if you care for that stuff.

Check out miui rom in android development! I'm currently using it! Its awesome. I went from stock to CM 6 then Virtious then MIUI. And I think for me Miui is the best rom, it incorporates so many things...and the new release is even more awesome.

This is a question and therefore goes in the Q&A section. Please think twice before posting a question in the Android Development section.
To answer your original question, RemPuzzle is best when overclocked to about 672. It's smooth and fluid. And majority of people know what Sense looks like, but not AOSP. It will have a learning curve attached if you go for AOSP ROMs. CM9 is also unstable and not suitable for daily use if you're not a dev. I use it for my daily driver but the camera, video playback etc. doesn't work.
You could take a look at my reviews thread.
I recommend you CM7 cause it has many cool features and animations and is the most popular one on the web. And I also is very stable. I won't recommend you CM9 cause its under development, Many things aren't supported yet.

It's not the lightest or snappier though.

Rempuzzle is the best. Overclocked to 691Mhz keeps it very quick, wait for the 2.70 update to get a sense 4.0 look
She is very glad with using RemPuzzle. I check RemPuzzles topic every day for news ^^ But this rom has lags sometimes. Is a method for this? I want to make her happy with using Wildfire. I know wildfire isnt a good phone but maby there are tips or apps to make phone smoother and faster? Thanks

Except overclocking or tweaking some thing on the rom, don't really know any more things to do to make it faster or snappier.. maybe someone else knows tho.
I found kwbr Wildfire 4.0 as fastest and stable. In other sense ROMs had lags. This one fits me best. Added new kernel, overclock and it's best by now

How kernel you use?

Most of the roms seem to have retained Sense 4. And the Sense roms seem to be updated more frequently.
I like the new Sense but want to try something different. I'm coming from Android Revolution which I like very much.
Want a ROM with lots of improvements to optimize performance, smoothness and speed, based on the latest ICS version, with bone-stock APKs and no bloatware.
Suggestions? What are my best couple options even....?
I'd recommend LeDrOiD and Android Revolution HD, both are updated frequently. But since HTC have not released any new software lately, there isn't much for the developers to do.
Both ROM can have Sense removed, LeDrOiD is easier in this regard.
It seems kernel is currently the hot development area.
Edit, posted irreverent info.
Thanks! I was asking about ROMS not Launchers though.
Ideally I would like a sense-less ROM that came with the stock ICS launcher (even over Apex or Nova).

try JDROID rom then or check the rom thread and see if they give the sense-less option in aroma installer..most roms now do that anyway. or just use rom-cleaner no-sense version and it does the business for you anyway
Or you could try cyanogen mod 9?

I can't claim to have given it a thorough testing, but the CM9 build available on the MoDaCo forums seemed pretty stable to me.

just by reading the changelog for me there was a few options there missing..plus the closed source attitude kinda put me off that rom anyway of Trips..the guys in the development section here are doing a far great work and are alot more helpful...so i would wait on those guys to get it up and running
I thought camera and wifi hotspot weren't working on CM9 - I use both every day.
Camera worked for me. Hotspot I didn't try, but it's the only thing listed as not working on Trip's build of CM9

Fair enough, and I don't disagree much. In Trips defense, he seems to have a rather large following singing his praises.
I only installed it for testing out GPS. I've gone back to ARHD with my own tweaks to trimming Sense.

No one is saying anything bad about him, just the guys here are open with the code that makes anyone able to help, stuff gets done faster.
Back on topic, with leedroid, pkmn and arhd(I think) you can remove sense and all its widgets and run any launcher you like.

Hi. Im pretty much a newbie with all things android. I have just updated my HTC ONE X (HTC__622) to the official jelly bean update. And I wanted to root my phone and apply a custom rom to it. I have been browsing the forums but its just got me more confused on which rom to use. Can someone suggest a good rom for battery, stability with camera, wifi and the usual stuff working fine.?? Also im a big fan of the Stock android People and Dialer app.. So which roms support that? Can I get that with Sense rom too?.. Thanks.. Eagerly awaiting to flash
I've settled on OrDroid (now on version 11.3) but the ARHD one is also good. These are both Sense ROMS that generally look stock but arent. Def a good start both fast and stable.
Hello,
You can root your device using the method given on htcdev.com. One of the simplest and most trusted methods.
As for ROMs, Youll get maximum battery life and stability on sense ROMs only. Performance, battery and stability wise sense ROMs a way better than AOSP ROMs. So I would suggest sense ROMs.
But its upto your taste and liking in the end!

You can not root your device on the htcdev site !!! You can only unlock the bootloader there, it gives you the right to flash a custom recovery and therefore custom roms !!! Please give the proper info
thanks guys for ur help. yes i have unlocked the bootloader from htc dev, installed cwm and rooted via superuser.zip...
before ur suggestion of ordroid or arhd i tried out renovate. and now im downloading ordroid.... read somewhere its more stable.
also im missing the android stock people's app and the dialer with full screen calling (i have seen screenshots of it on CM10) on these sense rom.
i really dont want to miss out on the sense cam and stability... can anyone suggest any mods for the aosp ppl app or fullscreen calling and dialer ??
Know some devs have put the sense camera on non sense Roms like miui x (lyapota camera one). I guess if you are using renovate you are on a jb hboot so that may be no good but worth looking around.

hey thanks for the info. I'll definately look at miui.... n btw i am on ordroid now switched almost 4 roms yesterday :
renovate
cm10
4.2 jb ( really liked the rom but i missed my sense cam and smart dial)
ordroid
If you like the sense smart dial then there are similar apps that are good when not on sense. Dialer one is the first that comes up on play search and it has some similar features.
Enjoy

I am pretty much a new android user too and just installed a custom rom this week.. I have tried both renovate and ordroid.. very smilar.. ordroid doesnt really have any visual changes... but is very stable.. so is renovate... what do u like the best abt blade Rom?
I was up till late last night flashing about 4 different Roms lol. Blade is fast as and I'm happr for the minute. I'm a fan of miui after running it on previous devices. ideally id like sense based rom with cm/solo custimisation. Like team viper ics There is a hell of a lot of Roms so ill keep looking.

Hey guys. Sold my s2 now with the s3. So confused on whats a good stable rom. Ive searched through and cant believe how many roms there is. You guys rock. All im looking for is something smooth. When I play some games I noticed my phone lagging. Im unrooted right now. On the latest update from ota. Sorry if im coming off as a noob, but there is so many. Im out of the loop

Tbh all the roms available for the Gs3 are stable to do just about everything you want. But, some roms gave minor tweaks that would make choosing between them a little difficult.
You should try Freeza's rom, it has the stock feel with some theming along the way. The rom performs very well for first time gs3 rom users.
Honestly I've flashed a good number of all the ROMs and it will all depend on what your likings are. I can suggest a ROM but not say these handful are better than the rest. If you understand me.
I would say try out Goodness JB edition, Stongsteves odexed ROM, wicked, and feezas.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Best thing to do, Cruise the dev section, check out a few threads.. See what they look like, bug log, check last few pages to see if anything odd has came up.. Then flash and try.. Best thing is.. if you don't like it.. you can wipe/flash again as much as you like. The People's Rom + morphology is where i would go! (FreeGS3 is also a good one) check them out.
Also, the GS3 (LTE) has the Adreno 225, it's not going to handle high-end games as well as some of the more powerful devices. Even with another ROM.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
All ROMs are stable and all are the best. No one can tell you what is best for you and your phone except you. There is no substitute for reading about the ROMs you will use to alter your $700 device.
Thanks for understanding
