What should i chose? - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tell me which rom is the fastest and the lightest of all. I need smoth rom for my girlfriend.

This is a question and therefore goes in the Q&A section. Please think twice before posting a question in the Android Development section.
To answer your original question, RemPuzzle is best when overclocked to about 672. It's smooth and fluid. And majority of people know what Sense looks like, but not AOSP. It will have a learning curve attached if you go for AOSP ROMs. CM9 is also unstable and not suitable for daily use if you're not a dev. I use it for my daily driver but the camera, video playback etc. doesn't work.

You could take a look at my reviews thread.

I recommend you CM7 cause it has many cool features and animations and is the most popular one on the web. And I also is very stable. I won't recommend you CM9 cause its under development, Many things aren't supported yet.

It's not the lightest or snappier though.

Rempuzzle is the best. Overclocked to 691Mhz keeps it very quick, wait for the 2.70 update to get a sense 4.0 look

She is very glad with using RemPuzzle. I check RemPuzzles topic every day for news ^^ But this rom has lags sometimes. Is a method for this? I want to make her happy with using Wildfire. I know wildfire isnt a good phone but maby there are tips or apps to make phone smoother and faster? Thanks

Except overclocking or tweaking some thing on the rom, don't really know any more things to do to make it faster or snappier.. maybe someone else knows tho.

I found kwbr Wildfire 4.0 as fastest and stable. In other sense ROMs had lags. This one fits me best. Added new kernel, overclock and it's best by now

[Q]HTC DESIRE HD rom's

Can someone tell me a good rom for DHD? I want to overclock it so I want one which can help me to get the best results (over 1.6ghz or so)
Honestly, they are all pretty good. Try them, back it up and try another.
I can only give you my opinion based on what I like. For me its MIUI. I find that Sense is to bloated, AOSP can be a little lacking in user interface.
MIUI for me ticks all the right boxes. The user interface is very similar to iOS in how it looks, which without sounding like an iPhone fanboy, is better in design and is aesthetically pleasing. But MIUI is still 100% Android.
Yea.. they are all good. It all about personal preferences. You can try flashing ROMs to see which suits your needs and feel. Lol. For me its LeeDroid.
Cheers pal. =)
I vote for CM7 .. hehe
And I vote for every rom... I change roms every 3 days or so.... All r kewl...
E.g
Leedroid rom is godspeed.. Stable and lovely transitions...
Coredroid has awesome visual changes..
CM7 is good aswell..
But then I have modded these roms for personal use... So in the end its all personal preference.... None can help but yourself u.

nope. the overclock thing is done by the kernel. most of the rom is using their own kernel except for some kernel that can be use for some other rom. this resulting different score in quadrant.
but, all of the kernel support overclocking. just tried it, and feel it yourself,

[Q] Looking for a simple, low resource ROM. Can't decide.

Hi,
today I got the idea of changing my current ROM to one that is 100% stable, runs very smooth and has a good battery life/low resource use.
I was thinking of a modified Froyo rom like Starburst. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916417 )
I'm not interested in any extra functionality besides phone-music player. I just need it to do those two things perfectly and to never choke, freeze. (for example my current ROM has frequent freezes of the music app during playback).
What do you think?
Thanks for your time
CyanogenMod7 or MildWild Oxygen, both small, smooth, stable, u wont have any problems. Ul find them both in Desire Android Development. If some1 recommends JB/ICS then just ignore them haha

I think I found CM7 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957344) and I know MildWild and I am using it now. I would like to change it. Overall it's smooth but the music player glitches are getting to me, since I use that several times a day.
CM7 seems incomplete by the looks of some comments. I would like something final.
That being said, thank you for suggesting those two.
You wont find anything more complete than CM7, lol.
Where did you found those "comments" ?
Redux. I think v 2 was the best. Development has long since stopped but it was the most stripped down, battery friendly when I had my desire.

MokeeOS was really fast and stable for me and gace good battery life. The developer has stopped updates but the current ROM works as good as can be.
Thread:

Before i was using that, I was using MIUI-XJ which is nice but not that lightweight.
Currently I am trying out Jelly Bean but wi-fi doesn't work for me so I'll probably return to MokeeOS

Stable CM ROM for Wildfire S

Hello all, I have a Wildfire S and I want to unlock and install a custom ROM. I want to try a CM ROM.
Which is the best for a daily use?
Thanks and best regards.
Hi jlazkano
I'm pretty new to this rooting/custom rom party but i loaded Cyanogenmod 9 onto my HTC Wildfire s and althought this biuld is technically still in alpha i think, its stable and its my daily rom. Had no problems with it, very pleased.
androidadvices . com have a really good tutorial on how to get it onto the device.
Hello,
I've tried both CM9 and CM10 and I think CM10 is better. First it is nearly stable. Second it is twice faster than CM9 (even more, but I don't know if the word thrice exists in English ). And third... it 4.1 Jelly Bean ! With Google Now, the amazing notification bar, and... the little 4.1.2 in the "About phone" section
Good unlocking and enjoy !

Hi,
Have just installed CM10 as someone commented earlier, it is still Alpha but it is very smooth and quick and if you use apps2sd you have a lot of free space to try and fill with apps
Thanks both!
Could you put the links to the ROM and Google Apps?
Thanks and best regards.

Here is cm10 : link .
Here are the modded gapps to fit in the small /system partition of our device : link .
Here is the Int2Ext+ script (works quite fine for me) : link .
If you have problems with gapps search the support thread (here for marvel).
Enjoy !
Following the advice on the page, i 'upgraded' from CM9 to CM10 and i must say, ealy days for me yet, but i reckon that CM10 is better then CM9. It just seems more stable and smooth and faster.

I switched to sense 3.5, and God, it's so much faster.

Which ROM are you using ? I can say that CM10 ROMs have emerged as a beauty now
They are a lot faster and stable now. Well, of course you will have to use MIUI camera and stuff like that to make all the possibilities of the phone to work I mean, camera won't work like stock. There... I said it. Camera won't be good in any of the CM10/CM9 ROMs . But you will have an advantage like you can use the latest of Android. You can mod it anyway you want it to. And regarding the lag that you have mentioned, I guess that will happen when you use init.d scripts for INT2EXT and stuff like that. When the number of apps increases then depletes the internal storage making the phone slower.
Well, i still have to say that the GB ROMs are best for our phone. I mean , its flawless. Everything works , including camera. You can add flash support if you want to (You gotta be rooted to do these stuff). Battery is also good.
For those who are bored by the GB look and feel, CM ROMs are for you guys. I mean , if you don't use camera at all , then CM ROMs are prefect for you. Djolivier's marvelous ROM is a Good-To-Go ROM . It gives you a balanced battery + Performance. He has added the Aroma installer in it which makes you the one who customizes it as per your need.
And could you give me an advice or link to a single thread that will help to install this new jelly bean on my HTC Wildfire S if possible, I've never done this kind of thing before.

Stable and fast custom rom for my mom?

Hi all =)
I hope I am doing this the right way =)
I have gotten S-off and rooted my moms htc wildfire. Now I need the most stable and fast custom rom for her needs.
She uses her phone for ringing =) doh, texting and then she wants to enjoy some of all the new apps. She never had any free Space for apps before. I have made a Sandisk class 6 micro sd Card for her with ext4 partition 1 gb and 30 mb linux-swap and rest fat32.
So a custom rom that can use an ext4 partition for apps is a must.
I really hope you can help me out, I have to travel home the day after tomorrow, so I hope I can give her something usefull before I leave.
I have looked for other posts and I can see some mentioning cm-7-20130301-NIGHTLY-buzz. Do you think that would be a good choice for my moms needs?
Love :highfive:

Yeah Cm7 its great for your mom

I think a Sense based ROM would be better suited for your requirement. they are stable and modified ones are quite fast.
And they are more user friendly than aosp ROMs.
you could use your ext partition with them, as I know.
Kwbr and rempuzzle are good roms.
just suggesting.
Thank you for your answers. I would like to try the 2 Roms you recommend lakshan_456, what versions do you recommend for me to try of the 2 you mentioned?

Latest version of rempuzzle did have some issues, not serious ones though. Try kwbr first, then if you don't like it you could try rempuzzle. There are some more sense based custom roms out there. You also check them out if you like.
But I think those 2 roms are the best ones.
Cheers!

So that the sense rom will run faster try flashing the rempuzzle kernel from the development section.
I went with...
.....The kwbr, it seems smooth, fast and stable. I tried the rempuzzle but it had so many choices when installing, that I didn't know what to do of it and I had some problems with activating the a2sd in terminal. But rempuzzle also seemed smooth, stable and fast. It just had so many choices when installing and I don't have the time right now to go deep into it =)
