Serious question by dim user

I have recently purchased an o2 XDA 11 for a few pennies to have a play and see if i can use it within a small taxi firm.
The problem I have is that the software will only run on windows mobile 5 or newer, anyone know, can I upgrade from 4.2? and if so how?
I am totally new to the world of xda's and utterly clueless so far, but willing to learn and try anything.

Newbie deciding in between repairing his nokia E62 or going for an E600 and flash it.

Hello everybody, this is a really nice forum, all you need to know about flashing an Excalibur windows mobile is here. Just amazing I found this!
Well, the story goes as follows:
My Nokia E62 died for no reason (when I turn it on, it just get frozen on the nokia logo) it seems there's a cure, but I need to send it to a repair shop or something like that.
The other option I have is to buy a new "unopened" (but unlocked) HTC E600 from a store, and flash it with a WM 6.5 or 6.1... I already have some flashing experience: I own an Acer N311 PDA that sports WM5 and I flashed to WM6.0 which brought new life to my PDA (except for some minor-and-not-often unstability issues)
My dilemma...:
1-send my beloved E62 to repair and keep going with it...
2-or buy the E600, new phone, new year, new life...? is it really a good choice? I like WM6 on my PDA, but is WM good when using it as a phone? What could go seriously wrong? Is the Java implementation good enough? Will I miss symbian...? etc etc..
no option 3 I could think about... (it would become a trilemma if so )
Thank you very much in advance!

Well basically I think you got to figure out by yourself , since you are the one who knows what phone will be suitable to fill your expectations and cover your daily mobile needs. For my point of view, you need to compare the functionability that you want from a phone and if that phone is capable of provide you that. For me and many others, the dash and the amazing roms posted in this forum provides you all of that; since they have been elaborated to the different "tastes" of the thousands of users in this site. Because here, we want to take the dash to the edge and squeeze the last drop of resources that it can provide us. That is my personal opinion and many others will have a different one or similar. Something that might help can be a basic comparison and see what phone is offering you what. You can look here and decide from this basic specifications. http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone2=1708&idPhone1=1696. Other thing to consider is this amazing forum, something that not many other brands might have. This can provide you an added value to your purchase if you decide for the excalibur.
I hope that helps
Thank you very much for the reply!!
Im pretty sure I will end up buying the E600... I am just a little worried about battery life.
Also, what about performance? My E62 was terribly slow, it took like 7 seconds to open a message (sms), but I eventually got used to it... and such "details", menu navigation was laggy and slow. It always been this way...
Is there any noticeable difference in between the E600, S620, S621?

[Q] Windows Phone 7 training course recommendations

I've been given a free course voucher to use with MS. Does anyone have any recommendations/feedback for Windows Phone 7 courses? I'm already proficient in Silverlight, looking for a purely Windows Phone 7 course.
Thanks

I was born in 72, was having fun with commodore 64, also amiga 500. Now Im professional designer, creating web sites, tv commercials and also work with prepress too.
Covering everyday all those aread I can say that - yes, my knowledge and experience are huge, therefore, beside my regular job I also teach people things I ve learned thorough the years.
I share my knowledge everyday, I share my will to help, same I was doing before, as a kid and teenager, when I was, hacking and programming.
I always believed in community, in doing the good, sharing the knowledge but what we all have nowdays? 84 of you was too lazy to do what I asked. Helping someone wasnt enough to move your ass. And that is impressive, becuse before that was the main motif to do something, to investigate, to learn something new, to improve yourself and help too...
But it looks like its different now.

Being rude will definetely not help you anywhere in this world.

[Request] Redfly On Mango?

Is it even remotely possible to create drivers for WP7 to interact with a Celio Redfly C8/C8N? I use the heck out of mine but WM isn't as polished as WP7.
I have my Redfly tug away in the basement long ago. Let us know if you manage to connect it to WP7.
Thanks
