I've been given a free course voucher to use with MS. Does anyone have any recommendations/feedback for Windows Phone 7 courses? I'm already proficient in Silverlight, looking for a purely Windows Phone 7 course.
Thanks
Antony

Thanks mate!
Thanks a lot, I was looking for something like this
I got to thinking and wondered if Windows Mobile 7 Verizon ROM has been ported to Dinc? Is like to check it out for connecting to all our MS bases crappy at the job! A search didn't return anything.

I would think it'd be much quicker/easier to go out and buy a windows phone 7 phone... that's my $0.02. There's much better (more worthwhile) projects to be undertaken first.
There is a Home Launcher that does a good job emulating a Win 7 phone.. it's called Metro UI

Yeah pretty sure WP7 can't be ported to our device or any android device for that matter. It would be cool, but I don't think it's possible
Windows = closed source. Android = open source.
You won't find any custom WP7 ROMs because the source code is not openly distributed.
Windows Phone 7 won't be on Android phones anytime soon, just like the other posters have said. I'll point you to two things:
1. Launcher 7 (https://market.android.com/details?id=info.tikusoft.launcher7&feature=search_result) is a very solid WP7 launcher that receives steady updates and is only improving. It's definitely worth checking out.
2. The WP7Android project (www.wp7android.com) is developing 9 WP7 applications for Android, and will supposedly develop WP7-like ROMs for popular devices.
However, I'd recommend you just buy a Windows Phone 7 device. The Mango release update coming in a few months is going to really make WP7 competitive, and there are many aspects that you simply won't be able to replicate with Android.
if you ever had a window's phone, you wouldn't be posting this..
What about the HD2 being able to run Android and Windows Phone7?
It's not a matter of possible, it's definitely possible.
It's a matter of whether someone smart enough to know how to reverse engineer and re-engineer ARM machine code wants to put in the effort to make it work. I don't think anyone with those capabilities has any desire to put the effort into getting WP7 on the DInc.

Hd2 started as WINMO 6.5. Therefore it can run any windows or android, cause its starting from closed source.
I propose a toast to the 21st century.
Can we port windows phone 7 OS on wildfire???
Short answer: No
Long answer: Nope
No. It does not meet the minimum requirements, and, this is not even touching on the technicalities of it.
ok guys thanks for the replies...
atleast any other port of windows OS not the WP7..???
It's probably possible for Windows Mobile 6.5, but it involves a ton of work. I am sure no one will be willing to take up something like this, especially for an OS that is well past its sell-by-date.

Hmmm... thank you for the info 3xeno...
Hi there,
I heard that the windows mobile revenue share is 30/70, in that you keep 70%. Are there any finance related things I should know about.
I am planning to develop a mobile 2d game on the windows mobile platform. I am looking for development software that can easily port to android and iOS later on. Any recommendations? I would like to keep costs to a minimum.
I have heard cocos2d (which is free) recommended, how easy is the porting though?
Thanks so much!
Any software developed for Windows Mobile will have very limited appeal because new devices aren't being made after 6.5, which was like 2+ years ago. Also I seriously doubt that there are any tools that are useful for porting between WM6.x and Android and iOS, because WM is effectively dead.
He probably means wp7

Make it for iphone first, get rich, then port to whatever you like as a pet project.
So anyone have any idea how one could try to run windows 8 rt on the Note 2? Kinda like they created an app for ubuntu to run within android, is it possible for windows 8 to do the same thing? just curious if anyone has any knowledge in this area. If you do please let me know, and I will get a copy of windows 8 rt for you to play around with!! Thanks XDA'ers...

Please search before you post next time. This question is literally asked on every board for every new device. Theoretically Yes it is possible but reality is no dev would do it because they would get sued into oblivion by Microsoft. Windows is not open sourced like ubuntu or android. In order to port windows over legally they would have to get a license to port him and pay royalties to MS

Not even possible. Windows RT has specific bootloader hardware requirements (I forget its name) add to that it is not open source so would need to be hacked together. You might be able to get windows phone to work but again, not open source so lawsuits would ensue.
On a side note why would you want windows rt on here? Windows RT is useless, cant run normal windows apps, and windows staore has less apps then android. Windows is going to release office for android next uear ( or so they claim) so not much need for windows RT on the Note 2.

The only time i've ever heard about Microsofts latest OS's getting ported to a non approved device was the HD2, and as far as I'm aware nobody is getting sued over there. And the only reason the HD2 got WP7 was because it was used as a test device.. I haven't heard anything about it being ported to other devices that have a lot in common (EVO 4G, Nexus One, HTC Desire, etc)
If it could be ported to an android device it will probably be done. but it will need to run the exact same hardware. and even then i still doubt it will happen.

The reason behind that is HD2 was a windows mobile device. It was based on winCE kernels and other devices were based on android Os which is based on Linux kernels.

Indeed. Similar to this was the Toshiba TG01, which also runs WP7. It is a native WM6 device with a 1GHz CPU, 512MB ROM, and 256MB RAM.
Thanks for the replies guys. I appreciated the useful information. Oh, and I did do a search.. There was nothing in this forum in reference to W8 being put onto this device. Sorry if I offended.
