hey guys, just flashed CM7 after being on MIUI for a good minute, but one thing I'm missing is the MIUI camera and the MIUI gallery. I had read there is a way to flash over a ZIP to get them, can anyone else confirm this?
possibly provide the zip

someone tell me if i can't do this but here are the apks for the miui camera and miui gallery that i took from the latest miui rom 1.4.8.Put them on your sd card. Use root explorer to make rename the original gallery that comes with cm7 which is located in system/app and then rename it to gallery3d.apk.bac then rename the original camera app also located in system/app to camera.apk.bac after you're done with that move both the miui gallery and the miui camera apk's to system/app and then install them like you would any other app. I can confirm that the camera works but i dont know about the gallery.
Tried your method and could not get it to work. It just says Package not installed.
Did you install it through Root Explorer or somewhere else ? Thanks.
mmm
I installed through root explorer but i am currently on Miui 1.4.8 right now so let me switch to CM7 final real quick and ill see what i can do.
I took a zip install that was made for CMW2 and updated it for CMW3. Boot into recovery and flash like any other zip. Nandroid first just in case something b0rks or you don't like the MIUI cam. Pretty sure this only changes the camera, not the gallery. Read more here:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/19404-miui-camera/
awesome! got the camera to work
but yes, when trying to install the Gallery.apk, it comes up with Application Not Installed, any ideas?
I tried changing the permissions as well, but no go
try these
both of these are confirmed to be working on cm7. The EDIFY one is for cwm 3+ and the other one is for cwm2.x.x
confirmed working.
It's an old MIUI gallery, but still much better than the 3D gallery IMO
I know its not what you are looking for specifically but, quickpic in the market is quite nice and faster than the miui gallery in my experience.
Tapa tapa tapa
o ye
o yea sorry i forgot to mention that and i think the camera is old two in both those zip files so if you want you could replace the camera with the apk i posted earlier which is the one from gingerbread.
Would I be able to replace the gallery .apk the same as the camera or would I have to rename it? Got the camera working replacing it with the new one but cannot get the gallery working so far.
Edit: Nevermind, I left the old Miui gallery and the quickpik is a much better option. Just having zoom available beats it for me. The Miui camera is nice though.
EDIT:
nevermind, just downloaded quickPic and so far I have to say, this gallery is pretty impressive. Going to use it as my Daily and see how I like it.
What did i wrong? I have only Chinese Characters!
I took these Zip:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=566132&d=1302554490
The install over Clockwork was easy. But in the Settings of the Camera App are only Chinese Symbols
Could somebody tell me how i get german or english language?
FIY: I don't own a HTC Droid. I own an HTC Desire which is running on GingerVillian 2.1. But I' am think, it doesn't matter for my issue.
Thanks!
I have been using quickpic for a month or so now and I have to say that it is much better than the default CM7 gallery. I actually root uninstall the gallery every time, because I'm OCD about changing the wallpaper and seeing gallery show up.

When you say "root uninstall" you mean just delete the gallery3d.apk in system/app? I only ask because that is what I do. Just making sure I am not doing something wrong.

Guys, you don't install these apps. Don't open the package and try to install! It won't work. Move the apks to /system/app and set the permissions to look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Uncheck everything else. Then reboot and it will be in your app drawer. No need to flash a zip, just set the permissions correctly.
Can we use the new MIUI Camera from 1.5.20 with the FFC Support in CM7 or does it need to be tweaked to work with CM7.
Miui can works and visually is an improvement

I tried to patch Rosie.apk from stock froyo rom to allow drag screens (like in modaco custom rom):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So i deodexed it, decompiled, made changes, compiled, signed, zipaligned and replaced my Rosie.apk in stock rooted froyo ROM. But then Sense didn't boot up. Where can be a problem? Maybe it don't work because i'm using deodexed Rosie.apk on odexed ROM? (as stock rom is odexed). Can pls someone with deodexed rom try this patched rosie?
Edit: I did it! Tested and working on stock rooted froyo rom (odexed), download:
i did that too but didn't work...i even tried paul's patched rosie but don't boot...i think it's cause of odexed rom and deodex system app
It's working now.

I have modded framework-res.apk too and it's working well. It's not odexed, so there was no problem with this. I decompiled it, added supercircle battery mod files, compiled, signed, zipaligned and then i flashed it via update.zip.
What was odd was that I pushed the original back on and that didn't work either (unless I named the backup wrong but I doubt that). I never signed it, but, I never used to on eclair either. Maybe I was just being stupid, I'll try again.
hey man why do you have commands for deleting the dalvic cache and cache in update-script???
i edited it and just left the command to copy rosie into system and it worked just fine
thanks anyway for the patched apk
sorry what do you mean by dragging scenes?........................sudeki300
Okay, I pull framework-res.apk, rm'd it, pushed it back. Now it won't work (keeps restarting, launcher fails). I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. I played around like this on eclair fine.
not scenes....screens!!!!
let's say you want to make your very left screen as the default one (meddle) you pinch in regularly to bring the screen preview , press and hold on the rom you want and drag it whereever you want to be

Wipe dalvik cache is there for deodexed rosie.apk, which i tried before. As now is odexed, that command is useles and i will remove it. But it isn't doing any problems either with that command.
problems now but why delete my cache....it may affect other apps....dunno though!!!
anw good find
@ranwej
Would kindly tell me what are the changes you did to code
I want to do the same to a newer version.... appreciate it
Sorry i deleted that project since i don't have HTC phone anymore.. As i remember... you need to add 2 lines of code to one file in decompiled app .
Try to deodex and decompile my patched file and original one from proper firmware version... then compare folders with some compare program (i'm using BEYOND COMPARE - very good one) and you will see that difference...
ONLY WORK WITH FROYO
So nobody made a Tut how to become the Froyo default Laucher..
I thought its could be usefull Maybe i will add some other AOSP App..
So now we will come to the TUT:
1) Download the File
2) Copy the File to the SD-Card
3) Use Root Explorer or Something other like Astro File Manager (You need Root support)
4) Copy the Launcher2.apk to system/app
5) reboot
ok there it is --> Stock Froyo Launcher
You can Install it Only with The Package Installer, but then this is not at the System Folder and it would be deleted after a Wipe..
I thinks it is Buckles with/without Lagfix..
A lot of Apps
and so on..
Switch between Launcher with Homeswitcher ( Search at the Market )

Better or maybe
Well this is official froyo launcher, the same that is used in Nexus One if I'm not wrong and it must have some good thing: no lags.
By the way I wish I could edit the bottom bar of main menu...
adw is better ....
Cool, but could you just explain the reason?
adw is probably better (not in horizontal mode because it lags a bit). However if I’m not wrong the one of this thread has a cube effect on the apps menu and adw doesn’t. Some people might prefer the official one of froyo for this reason.
Its not always about which one is better, sometimes it’s more important the look of the launcher, feel comfortable using it or to know that you are using an official launcher.
Thank you very much. I love stock froyo launcher like Nexus. I prefer it over all.
Thank you so much man

Download Homeswitcher from the Market and switch back to Launcher Pro.. What are your Build Infos Maybe i can solve the Problem.. Or delete the apk in System/app and reboot should give you a message... Do you have Launcher Pro now installed?
It looks like Launcher Pro.
What's the deference between them?
Will this replace the TW launcher?
I already use Launcher Pro should I uninstall it if I install this?
Thank you

There is no need to uninstall anything. It wont replace tw launcher. Install home switcher to switch between launchers.
Well I guess this launcher was created before launcher pro. Launcher Pro got is muuuch more customizable, but I think this one works better than touchwiz, launcher pro and adw. But as I said the bast thing is that is not customizable
Does this launcher use less ram than LauncherPro?
Here my new Theme for CyanogenMod 6.1.1 Stable!
Many users like the new Gingerbread style so I created
this little Theme.
For notification color,clock color etc.use attached "xml.file".
Extract from zip file and copy to /sdcard/CMTheme) then sellect in CMSettings.
If "CMTheme" folder not exist,make a folder on your sdcard called CMTheme
put the "xml file" it in there.
GO to setting>CMSetting>User Interface>Tweak extras>Select a Theme.
Version 1.0
- Initial Release
Version v2.0
- Added 2 new Nexus S LiveWallpapers,but Microbes have little bugs
- Launcher support only Portrait mode
- Many backgrounds added
- Modified some images
Version v2.1
- Music apk themed
- Now with themed ADW Launcher and landscape support
- New Android market 2.2.6 (not 2.2.7) but better then nothing
I have no problems at the moment.
Hope you like it.

That's why I think there are no emoji keyboard on 4.2 for GNex, but only the emoji dictionary. You can typ "star" in english (not "swype") and there will be a choice to pick a star.

I'm using MMuzzy's stock ROM compiled from AOSP for the toroplus, which may explain why it's there. I pulled 2 apks from system/app and one lib with a similar name from system/lib, so you can try pushing these there, and setting permissions.

No on the HDR, I believe that's a hardware issue (or a laziness one). I'm not sure why the ota would not have it and it be in an AOSP compiled ROM.

Hi guys!
If you modded your xiaomi mi mix camera by adding a setting to build.prop: 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1' you probably got front camera upside-down. There's simple fix for that: edit your "/system/etc/camera/msm8996_camera.xml" file (I used ES file explorer with internal ext file editor) and change following line:
before:
Code:
<Position>FRONT</Position>
<MountAngle>360</MountAngle>
after:
Code:
<Position>FRONT</Position>
<MountAngle>270</MountAngle>
Restart, done.
(source: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68889572&postcount=18)
What advantage do you get from adding that build.prop line?
Hi!
"persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1" is what you need to have on buil.prop to enable API2, right?
I was confusing everything on Resurrection Remix...

You have ability to save pictures taken in raw format, that theoretically give you more information, so better quality. But I've noticed not all cameras support saving in raw, so I dropped using it.
Moreover, API2 allows you more things, for example focus once and then read images from camera. So for example some applications can use it to make serial pictures more quickly, or measure light with camera more quickly (which does not require focus).

You are right though :victory:
I have no idea how to do this. Can I fix the camera upside down with a flash file?
As you can see in first post: you need to be rooted, then download ES File Explorer or some other file manager with root, go to the designated file, edit that line and you're done.
I'd add: first make a copy of the xml file and put it somewhere safe
Can this be included in the ROM? Seems easier than everyone has to edit files individually. But then again, I have no idea how this works
Why doesn't this mod work with all camera-apps? It seems like it only works with the default Google Camera (?) What am I doing wrong?
I changed 360 to 270 and add this code in buold.prop, now my camera doesn't work.
Then I tried in your order, still it didn't work.
Then I restored my backup, still I can't use my camera.

Also had to copy file media_profiles.xml to folder system/etc, and file msm8996_camera.xml to folder system/etc/camera
Now front camera woks perfect and slow motion video in google cam, does not crash any more
At least, now Google Camera is working fine in my mi Mix
Still needed to have an android 7 minimum ?
By the way, can you open DNG raw files??
