[TUT] AOSP Froyo Launcher - Galaxy S I9000 Android Development

ONLY WORK WITH FROYO
So nobody made a Tut how to become the Froyo default Laucher..
I thought its could be usefull Maybe i will add some other AOSP App..
So now we will come to the TUT:
1) Download the File
2) Copy the File to the SD-Card
3) Use Root Explorer or Something other like Astro File Manager (You need Root support)
4) Copy the Launcher2.apk to system/app
5) reboot
ok there it is --> Stock Froyo Launcher
You can Install it Only with The Package Installer, but then this is not at the System Folder and it would be deleted after a Wipe..
I thinks it is Buckles with/without Lagfix..
A lot of Apps
and so on..
Switch between Launcher with Homeswitcher ( Search at the Market )

Downloadlink [http://www.multiupload.com/1LTATKVMXD]
NOW THE DOWNLOADLINK WORKS (Thanks to titooo7)

Thanks By the way I didnt do it in that way because I received a meessage saying that there wasn't enough space, so I simply installed the apk and it works.
Apparently free of lags, but I think I prefer the way that touchwiz organize the apps... However someone could prefer this one
PS: Where did you take that file from?

link not work

test this one: http://www.multiupload.com/1LTATKVMXD
(the one of the opening post had a ] at the end of the link)

This is good but use a lot of RAM.

Coollll !!
Thanks a lot!
halabibk but touch wiz uses a lot of ram too, isnt it the same?

adw is better maybe

Better or maybe
Well this is official froyo launcher, the same that is used in Nexus One if I'm not wrong and it must have some good thing: no lags.
By the way I wish I could edit the bottom bar of main menu...

adw is better ....

Cool, but could you just explain the reason?
adw is probably better (not in horizontal mode because it lags a bit). However if I’m not wrong the one of this thread has a cube effect on the apps menu and adw doesn’t. Some people might prefer the official one of froyo for this reason.
Its not always about which one is better, sometimes it’s more important the look of the launcher, feel comfortable using it or to know that you are using an official launcher.

Thank you very much. I love stock froyo launcher like Nexus. I prefer it over all.
Thank you so much man

Download Homeswitcher from the Market and switch back to Launcher Pro.. What are your Build Infos Maybe i can solve the Problem.. Or delete the apk in System/app and reboot should give you a message... Do you have Launcher Pro now installed?

It looks like Launcher Pro.
What's the deference between them?
Will this replace the TW launcher?
I already use Launcher Pro should I uninstall it if I install this?
Thank you

There is no need to uninstall anything. It wont replace tw launcher. Install home switcher to switch between launchers.
Well I guess this launcher was created before launcher pro. Launcher Pro got is muuuch more customizable, but I think this one works better than touchwiz, launcher pro and adw. But as I said the bast thing is that is not customizable

Does this launcher use less ram than LauncherPro?

[MOD] Themed TW LAUNCHER

Themed TW LAUNCHER
Your device must be rooted
Use a file explorer like Root explorer and place the apk in system/app
note : 1) Backup your orignal Touchwiz launcher first and install a second launcher from the market' for when replacing the launcher failed and you have no launcher installed you can't operate the phone because you only have a black screen left.
So do this at your own risk.
note:2) Replacing the original twlauncher removes your widgets from the desktop pages and you have to place them back.
In the zip file is a version with the orginal menu icons (only the glass page indicators are build in)

I like the glass indicators
Can you make a version with only the glass page indicators? The colored icons don't float my boat
Thanks!

Do you by any chance:
1. copy the apk to system/apps
2. Set permissions
3. tap the apk and install ?
If so, step 3 is not needed and will give you the app not installed message, just copy/overwrite, set permissions and reboot..

Um, you don't need to install the file. Just overwrite and reboot.
And no it doesn't mod the default homescreen.

Only works if you are using a widget picker launcher like Nova or ADW
The stock launcher has widgets built into the menu
ok, i got it. I thoght this app will maybe sort also the built-in widget.
It's brilliant this way! I'm using it with Nova launcher and it's really nice
Thanks for posting this. Another step closer to CM9 feeling
Great work on this man! Looks so much better than the old white themed one. BTW, this works fine on 4.0.2 also.

Excellent, excellent, excellent!! Works great with Nova beta 10!
Loved the original and love your theme on it even more! Hoping the devs of NovaLauncer will incorporate your exact version (if you'd want them to!) Me and a few others have mentioned it here just today:

Just to let you know: did not have time to flash it, so just extracted "AppWidgetPickerActivity-release.apk" file from the /system/app folder in .ZIP file, copied it to /system/app (with ES File Explorer on a ROOTed Nexus S), changed permissions to rw-r--r-- and it's working flawlessly without even rebooting!
Thanks BlackDino !

TUTORIAL "How to remove the stock htc launcher and install adw"

Hello all i wanted a custom launcher like adw to become my default launcher, not just a regular app that over wrights my stock launcher, i wanted htc launcher gone and i didnt like the looks of it so i came up with this tutorial, this is a tutorial of how to completely remove the stock htc launcher and install adw launcher (like cm7) or your favorite launcher to become apart of your rom.I am not liable if you brick your device, thats why #1 is backup in nandroid, just in case you do not like this or want to go back to stock in the future, if you need help please reply and ill help you out. I tested this on my htc wildfire s stock rom, it will only work if your using stock sense rom. I DID NOT MAKE THIS ZIP, THIS ZIP BELONGS TO Calkulin HERE ON XDA,THANK HIM FOR MAKING THE ZIP, ALL I MADE IS THIS TUTORIAL AND HOW TO INSTALL A NEW DEFAULT LAUNCHER
*why to change?*
*removing stock launcher gives you a little more internal space
*installing adw or go launcher runs faster, smoother and can be customized unlike the stock htc launcher
*for those that have found a rom that performs great and just want to get rid of the htc launcher
*Downfall to changing*
*you can no longer use htc widgets, skins.
*Tutorial*
1.Make a nandroid backup
2.download your favorite launcher to your sd card from a computer, do not install it! the reason not to install it is because we want it to become a system apk not a regular app
3.push launcher apk into system/app
4.install apk inside system/app
5.press home, it will ask you to make default launcher click "yes"
6.download the zip attached below
7.place zip inside sd card
4.turn off device
5.open cwm
6.under advanced-wipe dalivk cache
7.install zip from sd card-Calkulin's_Remove_Sense.zip
8.reboot
9.now your phone is running your new launcher, everything will work normal
*click thanks if you like!*
*Also*
*if you do a factory reset in settings (not a hard reset) the launcher will still be installed, thats why you have to move the launcher.apk inside system/settings now its apart of your rom

Can it be done in any other way, lets say you put adw launcher in system/app or any other directory (lets say you want to change launcher in any of roms), then just using titanium backup, uninstalling htc ui, or any other launcher u wish to be replaced, and save yourself from rebooting and using this zip file that you attached ?
So basically just replacing this recovery installation step, with titanium uninstallation of laucher that is preinstalled...
second thing, will this work on other roms, and will the thing i wrote just work on ANY rom ?
Yes that's a good point lol try it and see, not sure... we would need somone to test it out
Sent from my HTC_A510c using XDA App
yea, someone that would test it would be great, since i dont have so much time because i have my exam in few days, if we dont get someone to test it in that time, i will ... but i think that my solution will work ...
on cm im 99% sure ... though on cm its not system/apps i think its some other directory
about sense, well we will see
anyway, clicked thanks for nice tut ... it's simple
Lol ok thanks now I have to see what other people think, hope they will like it

[APP] Samsung Galaxy S5's Download booster and Launcher For Htc one

How to Get the Samsung Galaxy S5's Download Booster & Launcher on Your HTC One
Samsung may not be the best when it comes to redesigning their devices (hopefully that will change with Galaxy Note 4), but they do have a knack for including some pretty awesome features into their TouchWiz software.
In its latest version, the one that shipped with the Galaxy S5, they included Download Booster. This feature uses both your mobile data and Wi-Fi to increase your download speeds for files (but not streaming, unfortunately).
While we can't grab the official Download Booster on our HTC One, there is a very similar app that does the same thing called Super Download, which kicks in right when a download starts. That means there is not much set up needed once installed.
Click to collapse
Here is the Video Tutorial
A Big Thanks To the GadgetHacks ( For his awesome Tutorial)
Step 1: Install Super Download
Click to collapse
Super Download is the work of developer @elban , who has been kind enough to release a fully featured free version of this app for XDA members, which you can grab over in his thread. If you're not on XDA, you can also grab a free version on Google Play, which has a 50MB file size limit, as well as the full paid version. Those links are below.
Super Download Lite - Booster
Super Download - Booster

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The free .apk from XDA will install like normal as long as you have installation from "Unknown sources" enabled.
Now when you download a file through Chrome or any other browser, Super Download will kick in and activate both your mobile and Wi-Fi data. You can also share download links to Super Download by using the share button from any app.
Along with Super Download, I will show you how to get the new TouchWiz launcher and AccuWeather widget that shipped with the Galaxy S5. All of this is compatible with the HTC One M7 and M8, as long as they are rooted with a custom recovery installed :- The Tutorial is here Thanks to @BD619
Step 2: Installing TouchWiz Launcher & Weather Widget
The TouchWiz launcher isn't as straightforward to install like Super Download, so we will need to flash it from recovery. The man behind the port, developer Dhairya Gandhi, created two versions of the launcher. The main difference between the two is that V1 has apps and widgets tabbed in the app drawer and V2 does not.
TouchWiz Launcher V1
TouchWiz Launcher V2
There is only one weather widget version out there, so if you would like to install it, use the link below.
Galaxy S5 AccuWeather Widget
Step 3: Flashing in Recovery
Both the launcher and weather widget can be flashed at the same time, but first we will need to boot into recovery. To get there, press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons for 15 seconds and select Recovery from the bootloader menu.
Click to collapse
In recovery, tap Install and select the TouchWiz launcher. After you Swipe to Confirm Flash and the flash finishes, tap Home and repeat the process with the weather widget. Once the weather widget is done installing, tap Wipe Cache/Dalvik and then Reboot System.
Step 4: Reset Your Default Launcher
After the reboot, you'll still have the Sense launcher as your default launcher, so change that from Settings -> Personalize -> Home screen.
And that covers it. The launcher works just like the Sense Launcher with the added bonus of having some extra view options in the app drawer. :victory:
Well, its a worth trying
thanks for this tutorial
