I want to flash this rom, but my phone currently has the ext4 file system. How would I reformat back to rfs without flashing a stock rom via odin? (Which doesn't work due to drivers isuses)And would I still have cwm so I can flash the rom?
U can Odin back to stock or use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109362
And flash with cwm

Would you happen to know which parts of the rom enable fm radio so that I can add them to another rom? I have Go Green and I'm not digging the theme it has , I'd I have to heavily modify it and I don't want to break anything. Are there any other roms besides those two to choose from?
There's a few look under development. All u have to do with go green is flash a different theme

I tried to flash a theme with ACS updater (made sure it was an EC05 theme) And my phone was still at the animated ACS boot logo after 15mins. I assume it made my install unbotable. I got tired of waiting and just reflashed it.
go green is not ec05, its eg22..

I have stil have the EC05 modem though, I didn't flash it because I didn't have to, and odin won't work on my computer due to a driver issue. My baseband is still EC05, I can screenshot it for you.

The modem has nothing to do with the rom so if you are on a eg22 "rom" and have the ec05 modem doesn't mean u can flash ec05 themes. Modem only controls the radio on the phone (signal)

Wait please tell me exactly what you did you tried to flash a rom? Thru odin? Or tried rooting thru odin and on what software ei22? Ec05 etc.
Sent From My Cyan Samurai
Well if you can't get into cwm try to odin back to stock ec05 then flash a custom recovery in odin and then download a rom and flash it in cwm. I'm sorely confused on what you did please expand
Sent From My Cyan Samurai
i used odin 1.85 and used the lostkernel 1.02.4 something like that when i tried to root my phone.
Okay well I've never heard of it. Anyways just go ahead and flash back to stock ec05 if you don't know how to do this then follow this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ2g6J1JgjU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Once back on ec05 you have two options update to ei22 or just root ec05 by flashing a recovery not a kernel. Ill provide you a recovery give me a second.
Sent From My Cyan Samurai
Kala..if u have the stock ec05 file on ur pc..odin back to eco5, and then let the phone do the ota update to ei22. From that point u can go ahead and the rooting process. Make sure u are not using the data cable that came with the phone.

i know, but i cant because rom manager installed the bml version, so i cant get into recovery, at all
That doesn't make much sense...it would've flashed cwm to nothingness, so it shouldntve worked.

Lol wow completely overlooked that point didn't I... looks like your only option right now is to odin back to stock ec05 and start over... it sucks I know but I think that may be your only option unless someone has a .tar of cwm mtd... which I'm not aware of one being in existence at the moment

Ugothakd is right. Use ES File Explorer to extract the recovery.bin from the original rom zip, then use flash_image recovery [file name] to fix it. Just had the same issue on CM 7.2 RC0, and fixed it. Wouldn't throw out Odin, though - YMMV. Had to run the flash_image command three times before I got it to stop throwing errors and flash the image.
Wierd, ROM manager shouldn't have affected it like that. It should have simply rebooted since the BML version wouldn't load. I have messed around trying to get ROM Manager to work on an MTD ROM and never had that issue. I still can always 3 finger into MTD CWM 5.027.
If you can't get the recovery to flash right then Odin to EC05 with repartition, root and flash CM7 again just to make sure you don't have partition damage.
I am on acs cwm and just want go to standard blue cwm. I can't read acs recovery very well and hardly at all when I am outside. On the cyan/blue cwm I can read it better. When I dl the recovery and flash it in acs recovery it goes to the cwm I want but it doesn't stick.
Do you mean it goes back to acs? Or it reverts back to stock recovery?
Try odining in the .tar for cwm5 ill link it

when you flashed the acs recovery, did you also install the "SU EGFH" zip file also? you need to do that as well.

Very simple, I odined the recovery tar and it replaced the acs recovery. I could care less about old backups. Now it 3 finger boots cwm instead of acs. Thank you!
Download ROM Manager then choose Install Recovery and then at least through ROM Manager you will have CWM 5.0.2.7. But Biggie is right to say try to odin it in.

That doesn't work if you came from stock el30 and used acs method. Rom manager downloads a flashabke recovery and you can flash it from acs. It will take you to cwm after you flash it, but it will not survive a reboot.
This Odin method made cwm stick and now is my recovery.
Ok, so the new Stock EL30 + modem is out... but it does not include CWM or root.
Could someone tell me what the fastest route from that stock reload to CM9 would be? I don't need the super detailed steps... just maybe references to the right working root thread followed by the CWM and MTD jump?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im sure there are a bunch of different approaches... maybe someone has it down pat?
Flash the gb3a.tar flash cwm5 through odin...flash cm9 boot back into cwm and flash the gapps viola back on cm9.

Thank you for the reply... so could you help me a little?
What is gb3a?
Also, would ODINing the CWM5 automatically bring me to MTD? If not, I don't think CM9 auto-converts... or does it?
Thanks again.
In the xda search "epic gb kernel sources" and look for the thread with that title by mkasick. Find the .tar download it.
Flashing the cwm5 will allow you to flash cm9 and cm9 will check your partition and convert you to mtd.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Ok... so... you think this will work?
1. ODIN new EL30 stock w/Modem w/ repartition
2. ODIN http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307980&highlight=mkasick (gb3a in pda slot??)
3. ODIN CWM (in pda slot??)
4. Boot CWM and flash CM9
5. Boot CWM and flash Gapps
does that look right?
Are you already on mtd? If so repartition if still on bml do not.
And yes you hit the nail on the head

Yep, currently on EI22 modem with MTD and CM9 alpha 2.
Want to flash the stock and get the new modem then go to Alpha 4. So yeah, I will need to re-partition.
Thanks again... if this goes smooth (I will likely test it tonight), I will put it out in general as a guide and credit you for the guidance.
Um dude you can just download the el30 modem.tar for odin and flash it no need to re root just flash the newest alpha if you'd like.

I'm pretty sure you cannot do that if you are MTD... unless you want a soft brick.
I think all ODIN activity is supposed to be done BML only.
Speaking of, the CWM is BML only... does the CM9 convert the CWM? I know CM7 does, but not sure about CM9.
Nope I just odined ec05 eh17 and el30 to test on mtd and I'm still talking with ya so no soft bricks here

Hmmm. well that would save me a LOT of time then. And I just watched the QBKING vid, so looks like it is doable. Another question... I noticed he used ODIN 1.61. Can 1.85 be used?

No that is incorrect. Modem flashing through clockwork is through BML or BML flashable CWM. You can Odin anytime and any modem (except EI22 since we don't have a modem bin for that).
