Hi, I have an issue with the Medscape app. I wasn't able to update the library so I uninstalled the app and manually deleted the library files from me Medscape folder, later I learned that the update problem was because of the adblock app. I solved that and tried to reinstall Medscape, so far so good. When I try to re install the library files, the app tells me theres no update available (???) and it shows the current files as if they are installed, but the folder is still deleted and when I try to look up something in the database, nothing comes up.
Is there a way to wipe completely the Medscape db registry so I can do clean install?
Thanks a lot

Hi there...i have an A100 USA version but i'm livin' in Italy.
I've rooted the device, so, i was wondering how to remove System Apps...
I've removed succesfully Aupeo, but when i'm trying to do the same with nemo Player ('i'm using Mobo player), nothing happen... the system put it again at his place...
is a problem of the File Browser?
I moved Aupeo with File manager HD
But i'm trying to remove nemo with File Expert...
in both cases, i changed file permissions...
Any idea?
PS:
I would like to do the same with social, reading etc. hub by Acer....but i cannot find in apps folders... someone knows where they are located?
An app like System App Uninstaller, or Titanium Backup can delete system apps. Allegedly deleting system apps may interfere with our ability to get OTA updates (ICS...) so do so at your own risk.
I need to unroot and return my Blu Studio 5.3 to stock and to do it I need the Facebook app. Deleted it cuz I never use FB. The app is in /system/app. Facebook.apk. Tried getting it from Play Store and it gives me an error, managed to get it to install by sending it to the phone from accessing the Store by computer, but it installs com.facebook.katana-1.apk as a user app and crashes when I try to start it.
Thanks in advance.
Edit - Fixed it by renaming com.facebook.katana-1.apk to Facebook.apk, moving it to /system/app, using touch to change the file times to match other apps in system, and giving it the same permissions as the other apps

I installed CyanogenMod and when I try to download a paid app on google play, it shows an "110 unknown error". Do you know how to fix it? I read some threads about it and nothing worked (clear cache, log out - login gmail...). Thanks.
You can download play store file and install over the one you have or try to make a clean Rom install this might solve your problem......
OR First try to clear all your data of play store and Google service and reboot the phone if it doesn't work then try the above thing...

Most likely the app you are trying to install has some files already in your system folder, therefore its not able to install correctly. Get a file explorer with root rights and try to clean up yourself. At least that solved my problem.

Thanks! That worked!
Hey, this is probably slightly trivial for the likes of many on this forum but quite obviously for me, it isn't. So, I downloaded a game through none conventional methods, basically through Google search, downloaded the apk and game data and placed the obb file in it's appropriate place. I've recently finished the game while updates have been released. Because I haven't downloaded officially I am unable to acces these updates.
Is there anyway I can download these updates without corrupting my previous data? And if so, how do I go about doing this? The ideal solution would be a manual update that wouldnt restart my previous data. If this can't be done please do tell.

if you just install the updated apk over nothing is happen...it just get updated but won't corrupt anything...but if you have to uninstall and install the new apk and the new game data then just backup your game data, the savegame files etc, with titanium backup...then you can uninstall and install the new apk and just restore the data and you have your progress back...
and also to you WRONG place to ask...next time please in Q&A as this is for themes and not questions
Simple
You may need to rename the obb folder (Such as adding a '1' at the end of the name) and reinstall the previous apk then, install the updated apk and rename it back to its original name. After that, open the app and tada, problem solved.
I have recently upgraded to open beta 6 with a clean install from beta 5. Wiped. The gallery worked fine at first as far as I know. But now it's directly crashing on opening. Another open 6 version was released today and I thought this one would fix the issue but not.
Cleaned cash and data already and also tried to disable and re-enable. No luck so far.
Running with magisk 16.3.
Anyone with the same problem? I don't feel like wiping it again just for a broken gallery app but I do want to get it working again.
I don't have the problem but it could be a corrupt image file.
To eliminate this possibility put an empty file called
Code:
.nomedia
In the root directory of your internal ("SD Card") storage. Clear Gallery app data and cache again and then open the Gallery. No images should load. If the Gallery app works again then you know you need to hunt down the corrupt file (you can do this by moving that .nomedia file around to different folders or even create more of them). If this trick doesn't work then sorry I have no further suggestions (don't forget to delete the .nomedia file).
I had the same issue and the @djmcnz method didn't work for me. I fixed it by doing everything @djmcnz did (.nomedia and deleting app cache and data), going to the Google Play store and uninstalling updates from Gallery app and than updating it back.
