Hi,
I got 2 problems with connecting my HTC Desire HD to the PC.
First:
When I connect the cable and use charge only it's automatically used as HDD (if asked or automatically), I first have to switch on the menu to HDD and then back to Charge only, then it's working. Is this probably a known bug or even an app problem?
I remember I had this on 1.32 stock, on LeeDroid 1.5 and now on LeeDroid 2.2.2.
Second:
Probably a HTC issue with "screen off"..
I use a docking station to connect an audio speaker to it while the DHD is on it and the PC is also connected to the docking station, so I can use the HDD and adb etc.
When I use adb with screen on I can send input keycodes over adb to adjust the volume and they will be interpreted. If the screen is off I don't get a message but nothing else happens either.
Can somebody explain me what the problem is if I'm not alone with this?
Does someone know another way how to set the volume directly without keycodes and also retrieve the current status of the volume?
Hope somebody can help me.
Cheers
Aynone?
1. Did u try to change settings on the phone, to automaticly choose ur mode, not to pop up every time u connect it

Greetings,
I have an HTC 3301, unlock, with Shady WM6.5 rom. I´ve had a problem with a replacement battery (bought from eBay) my older battery (it was heating) and changed to the original one.
After this issue, I could not use usb connectivity anymore.
Plugged with the USB cable, but Windows does not detect anything, but still charges the device.
Plugged the headset and it still working flawlessly.
I´m syncind using bluetooth, but lose the usb connectivity sucks.
I dunno what to do. Any ideas?
Thanks
Hi There
Firstly have you got the latest activesync?
You will need 4.5
If you already have this remove it from your PC download and reinstal a new one as I have had a few connection problems in the past and this does seem to solve the problem.
It might also be a good idea to do a hard reset on the phone if you have not done so yet as this generally cures most issues.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply but I can sync using Bluetooth connection and did not changed any settings since I got everything working almost a year ago.
Anyway, I just solved the problem. It was hardware related. I found a bent pin on the device USB port. Whith needles and some patience I could put it back to its place. Now everything is working fine again.

I had the same problem sometime ago. I've changed the wire first but nothing happened. My speaker, my Mic was dead and I could switch on FMRadio without the Hands-free!!!
What I did...??? I updated my mobile's Radio with 3.39.90 Version. How can you do this without active sync???
1. Remove SIM Card and Storage Card from the Mobile.
2. Press and Hold the Right Button (Recording Button) and Press together the Power Button. You will be in the Bootloader Screen. Try to update the Radio first.
3. Check it if it's working ok.
2nd way...
1. Copy the official ROM of WindowsMobile to the Storage Card.
2. Press Right Button (you know the Voice Rec) and holding that press the Power Button...
the mobile will be bootloader mode and will try to install the official ROM from the Storage Card...
wait a bit and then when it finish, check it if it is working properly!
Hope to help... waiting to "hear" sorry, to read good news

As this is a wonderful phone it seems that is full of small or big issues that users came across. Issues that might be fixed or not in this thread I'll try to list them and their fix (or no fix).
PLEASE DO NOT SPAM THE THREAD!
Post issues and it's FIX so we can all use and not spend useless time on finding them.
==============================================
1. First problem that I and other came across is the low volume on the external speaker. Seems like ALL DHD's have low volume, allthough HTC sounds are optimized for the device itself sound remain low for music and hands-free calls.
The fix?! Search on market some audio boost/volume boost apps that best suits your need.
Seems like a thread is around for some while now, that can be used to increase volume (NOTE: Only for rooted userds/use with care.)
PLEASE NOTE: Some DHD have a hardware fault, SOME (as in.... is very rare). How would you know that?! If your speaker has a very low (I mean LOW) volume and it gets warm. the sound will be like when you connect the wirres of a normal speaker between them.
===============================================
2. LED notification is one of the most common software related issue. Not so important but some users can't live without an LED. Just follow this thread and hopefully you'll get fixed.
NOTE: For rooted users that passed on to ICS ROMs, LED notification might not work at all.
================================================
3. The most ugly bug/issue that the DHD have: USB brick
This is a more sensitive problem as we are unaware of why or how this happens, and this is why there is no actual fix (but some workarounds) for it.
A device is USB bricked when it refuses to comunicate with a PC (all PCs). If your PC sees it as Unrecognised USB your phone's USB works.
First workaround/fix: Try to clean your phone USB socket with an air tank or most commonly used a needle (use with care). Look inside the socket if no pins are bent, be sure there is no moisture inside it.
Second workaround/fix: Bootloader/fastboot way. First boot your phone in bootloader mode and connect it to a PC. See if on the display is shown USB mode/AC mode or none. If you got an USB mode then your problem might be ROM/kernel related. If you already tried changing ROM and kernel and the problem persists then you need to use some fastboot commands, as the USB is not entirely dead it might get some commands to the bootloader. So now you'll have to go on HTCDEV.COM and follow instructions on how to unlock your bootloader (very risky) but it works.
NOTE: For the commands to work, in bootloader/HBOOT you'll need to select fastboot and press power button to select it. Then use commands.
Third Workaround/fix: I personally found this one, as I don't know how this happend (USB brick) cause i bought my DHD on eBay. So I found myself with a DHD on a stock ROM with S-0N and stuff plus USB brick. After spending some time on the internet (with no avail) I tried one little thing. Note that my DHD does not recognise a PC at ALL, not even the bootloader, and yes my PC works fine as other phones work well on it. I just connected my phone to the PC trouhg a USB HUB and runned AAHK. First it did'nt worked then I tried a different USB slot on the HUB and seems like the slot nearest to the PC works best.
Hopefully this works for most of you out there.

Hey all,
I fell on top of my A100 a few weeks ago (Don't ask me how) and the side had a nice hit.
I noticed the screen is checked, but the image is clean and perfect.
The touch is not working anymore except for on 1 location, on the top part, a few square cm,
My problem is that I don't have any insurance left (took off the void) soooo,,,yeah...
I want to use it as a media player, attached to my LCD with HDMI, using a mouse to controll it.
Thing is, no mouse gets detected on this rom.
I tried to downgrade to Gingerbread from ICS, so I reset user data and cache, downloaded the ROM, changed to update.zip, placed it into the SD card, volume up + power booted it, and I get this droid opened up with a red ! on it...
Everything I try doesn't react
The mouse is a very simple HID logitech BT mouse with USB, connected to microUSB in the A100, I tried the G9x logitech too, but no luck.
Can anyone help me here? I can't use the screen at all, I am desperate
Thanks!
PVTD
The USB port on the A100 does not have host mode, you can't use it for any USB devices, it is just a way to transfer data with a PC. If you can enable BT on theA100 you will get a mouse/keyboard working, I am just not sure how to do that with no touch response on the screen.

But I have seen multiple questions abut making host mouses work with USB on the A100, I'll try find the topics back
I could connect it by BT if I keep sinning the tablet around to make the few square cm work on the screen, but it wont be possible to accept
I tried using a screening app on windows, but sadly can only see immage from the tablet, no input remotely.

good morning, friends
I tell them I am death, I would just drop my LG OG from the bed to the floor and hit in the upper right corner breaking the touch screen shutting down. The help I need is this, I need to go to the internal memory of the phone but the conditions that I have are the following:
- This lock, which can not get out, to be the bad touch
- I have not activated the debug mode, and I can NOT turn unable to use the touch
- I'm not ROOT
- I have not unlocked the bootloader
- I did not I connect the mouse and it does not support the ogm
- I can not install a APP remote control from the pc since I is blocked cell
hahaha now that I see all the unfavorable conditions somewhat impossible to see, someone who will enlighten and help me please.
thank you very much.
PS: I do not speak English jajaja
in such situations, i really dont like to help but try hardreset (theres an combination)
Why would it serve the hard reset in this case?

When you plug your phone into a PC via a USB cable, it might be recognized as an MTP device, depending on your PC connection settings. You don't need USB debugging for that. So, if you are lucky, and you phone was configured to connect as an MTP device by default (and not as charge-only, for example), you should get access to your internal storage. Does anything happen when you hook it up to a PC?
phone folder appears, but when I opened, there is nothing
