[Q] {defy} - Defy as MP3 w/ regular sound system - Defy General

Please,
I have a regular sound system with a AUX-IN. I can connect my ipod, and my sister philips gogear, as my Nokia E72, directly as mp3 players. But I can't connect my Defy. I use a p2-p2 cable, regular, and Defy doesnt recognize, the sound coming from the speakers (defy).
When I connect a "extend-cable" with a earphones, take it out and plug my p2-p2 cable on sound system, its work.
So, Can someone help me?
Why Defy doenst recognize my sound? Its to happens with my car system.
I really think I've spend money on motorola defy.
ps. sorry about my english.

Well...
I noticed that too.
To solve this I made a little modification on the P2 cable, just put a push-button between the ground (negative) and one of another wire (positive). You just need a momentary short on this wires for the phone recognize your sound system as a phone...
I dont now why motorola did this...
Mauricio

I just connected my Defy to my sound system and PowerAmp just started playing. I think that that short usually is done when inserting the jack.

This sounds like an impedance issue. The headphones are low impedance, aroud 32 ohms, but the aux-input is higher impedance, probably around 22k ohms. The proper solution would be to add two 33 ohm resistors to the cable, from ground to left and ground to right. They would add the correct loading to make the Defy think there is headphones connected.

Thanks Daniel, it's really happens w/ Poweramp, only w/ Poweramp, w/ the stock apps, its doesnt works. I've installed poweramp to solve this issue.

Mauricio,

Audio & Power in car: Electrical Noise

I've got a problem when I plug my HTC Titan into my car stereo as well as cigarette adapter.
I'm also got a kind of custom setup using the HTC Y Adapter with a 2.5mm jack and MiniUSB jack
Audio
Honda Civic Stock Stereo -> CD Changer to Aux Input Adapter -> 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter -> 2.5mm input on HTC Y adapter.
Power
Belkin Cig. Lighter to USB Female Port (From old iPaq) -> HTC Stock Sync/Charge USB cable -> MiniUSB input on HTC Y adapter.
So, when both the power and audio are plugged in, I hear a horrible hiss on my car stereo, not to mention a sound that varies in pitch to my throttle. When I unplug the power, the audio is completely clean. To me this seems like some kind of a grounding issue - to say that the Audio and Power both have seperate grounds, and bridging the two creates a potential difference in the form of noise on my Sound. Also to note: I only hear the noise when the Y adapter is plugged into the phone. With the audio and power plugged into the Y adapter, but the Y adapter not plugged into the phone, It's perfectly clean. I'm kind of baffeled.
The only solution I can think of is to gut the Belkin Power->USB adapter, and providing it from 12VDC elsewhere. I've got a tap directly below my passenger seat where I have a big power inverter tied to my battery. I don't know if I'd hear the same sound by grabbing my power from there.
Anyone with an engineering mindset have an idea? I'm open to suggestions.
You are right, you have a problem with ground.
I have the same problem with a mp3 player. When I plug the audio + power I have noise, just audio is fine.
You may try the inverter as it would probably filter the noise you're getting from the DC power in your car.
you just nead an in car ground loop isolator used for getting rid of noise on the low level signal to amplifiers. They are just a 1:1 audio transformer
Any incar hifi shop or ebay will have plenty.
I have the same problem, with a polaris using standard headphones. I'm thinking the polaris itself has issues dealing with audio+charging
i had the same problem with an ipod charger, sent the car to the wreckers, and woot, problem solved sorry that was no help
Usually happens when the signal wires (mm adapters + input cord) aren't shielded and pick up the magnetic field from the ground resulting in the engine noise. Sometimes, making sure the signal wires are not touching the power cord and keeping them separated might help. I'm not really sure, since I'm a 100% noob too all this. Let me know what your fix is. I'm not too hip on all the car audio stuff anymore, but if you wanna put some hydraulics in your ride, then I can definitely help you out.
more likely the problem is in the phone, so ...

HTC PDA with 3-in-1 adapter

HTC PDA with 3-in-1 adapter
Hi community!
I have a small problem .... I have bought this http://www.amazon.de/Original-HTC-T-Mobile-Vodafone-Smartphones/dp/B000T92QF4/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=ce-de&qid=1211719958&sr=8-12 adapter for my XDA Terra and everything works very well! I can listen to my music by headphones, while the PDA is charging etc
Only in my car I got problems!
I drive a Toyota Aygo (like Citron C1 or Peugeot 1001) wich has an auxiliary input on the radio! If I connect my PDA with the adapter to the aux input everything ist OK, music is played, everything normal, but once I connect electricity, through a USB car charger, I hear a very loud noise! In addition, there is still a induced noise when I accelerate ...
If I put my MD player between sound of electricity , I don't have this noise!
Can anyone help? Do you have the problem too? Can someone test this, maybe who has a radio with AuxIn? Would an other adapter help? What do you have?
I hope you can give me an answer to my questions!?
Thanks a lot!
ruebyi
P.S.: Here is my question in German http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/showthread.php?t=130394
well, not sure what to tell you, I have the exact same adaptor set up in my car, with audio going to the aux in on the radio, and a car usb charger for power, and the 3rd slot with a microphone for hands free phone use. Works just great in my Dodge pickup with stock radio. I can hear music or phone over the stereo speakers, and having the microphone hookup people hear me just fine, and the unit is charged the whole time. not sure, but have you tried switching the two usb ports, maybe whatever is causing the interference will go away if you switch to the 2nd usb port?
How to fix the problem..
Hello,
What you are experiencing is sometimes known as floaty ground-loop feedback. It will be especially noisy if you're using a DC->AC inverter.
The best solution is to do as the MD player does: isolate the circuits (by that, I mean isolate the audio-output from the power-input circuits)
I had this problem once, so I went to the local Radio Shack and picked up two of these (RS Part# 273-1374) - Audio Isolation Transformers, 1:1 winding. Simply wire it as follows (using a 3.5mm male & female plug to add it inline to the 3.5mm output from your 3-in-1 adapter):
Audio input (from the 3-in-1 3.5mm output):
L -> WHT on transformer 1
R -> WHT on transformer 2
G -> BLK on both transformers, connected together
Audio output (to the plug which you plug into the 3-in-1):
L -> RED on transformer 1
R -> RED on transformer 2
G -> YEL on both transformers, connected together
When I built one, it fit into a small 2.5x0.75x1.5 enclosure (including male and female 3.5mm stereo plugs) and it helped to solve the problem. Another solution might be to find (in your local electronics store) an inline audio filter.. They are pretty cheap, usually less than $10..
Hope this helps!

sounds to me like your car has a bad ground. test it out in a different car.
same for me with any HTC adaptors. When i use a cheap chinese make there is no problem

plz help my device has lost its sounds

hi, my name is manasseh, i own an XDA exec(ROM version:1.30.76WWE , ROM date 02/20/06, Radio version:1.09.00, protocol ver:42.42.p8, ExtROM:1.30.164WWE, Model NOu10).there are no service point that i know of in my country. my i mate jasjar Xda exec has lost its sound, not even the clicks or notifications work. the phone is kinda useless now cos when i get a call i cant hear anything unless i use my bluetooth headset or my ear piece, not even media player sound comes out but every other thing works perfectly. its like my device has no speaker but it rings when i get a call and that's all the sound it makes. pls help me somebody.
Take a very thin screwdriver, insert it into your earphone opening and wiggle lightly. Helps if you set your media player to play something at the same time, so that you'll know when the sound is back. Good luck.
Hi,
Were you from? (What country). Maybe I can help
the magik screwdriver
i have the same prblm, i put a thin screwdriver in the headphones connector & at the same time playing music so i heard the muzik in a few instant moving the screwdriver in the hole makes the sound come back, all works fini now phone sound movies ringtones thanks

Dasaita stuck in reverse cam

Hello,
I have a Dasaita installed in my 2018 Toyota Avensis.
Unfortunately, after I put the device in reverse gear, it stays with the view of the rear camera. Dasaita has also already provided me with a new MCU version (see attachment), but unfortunately it did not help. The problem looks like this:
The reverse signal comes from the CAN BUS decoder.
Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this problem?
Does the reversing image go away when you turn the car off and back on and then return when you shift into reverse the first time?
I have a 2017 Toyota Camry which is similar to the Avensis with a PX6 SYGAV/DASAITA head unit.
Software suggestions:
Verify the Canbus options are correct for your vehicle. You can find these in Settings... Car... Factory settings.... 126
Here are the settings for my vehicle. Yours may be different. I would suggest setting the Type settting to "0 NO" as those seem to be quite specific to vehicle models with certain options. I had several check engine codes occurring with my car when Type was set to anything other than 0
You could also try setting the Canbus selection to 0 (effectively disabling the canbus adapter)
Hardware things to try:
1. Pull the ground wire from the car's battery for about a minute or so.
2. Try disconnecting the canbus adapter and then try shifting into reverse. The radio will function without the canbus adapter. This would tell you conclusively whether the reverse signal is indeed from the canbus adapter. I would not be very surprised if reverse works the same even without the canbus adapter. I know there is a reverse signal wire on the car harness on either the 24 pin connector or the 26 pin (can't remember right off which one but could find out if needed).
Maybe my suggestions will help somehow. Finally, you may have a defective canbus adapter or MCU board. Best of luck to you.

No. When I turn off the car and then restart it, the rearview image is still there. Only if the car was off for a longer time, the device is not at the rear view camera image after the start.

I have chosen the same CAN bus settings as you:

1. Pull the ground wire unfortunately did not help. Especially since the reversing signal works with the original Toyota Touch 2.
2. The signal comes 100% from the CAN bus adapter. It is possible to connect the cable either to the CAN bus or to the connector from the car. Unfortunately, the reversing signal is not assigned to the car connector.
The reason I was suggesting to try running without the Canbus was to hopefully confirm or exclude it as the source of the problem. Perhaps you could get Dasaita to provide a replacement Canbus adapter and/or harness, but then again maybe you could get them to replace the whole unit. Just be advised that their tech support will do everything they possibly can to get you to give up and go away.
I doubt Toyota would rely on a software signal to trigger the reversing camera on the factory display. Hope that you are able to get this sorted out. Best of luck to you.
Thanks for your help
I unplugged the reverse signal coming from the CAN bus adapter and plugged it back in. I assume that it is the CAN bus adapter:
I wonder if you could pick up the reverse signal from somewhere else like another harness under the dash, or even run a wire from the reverse lights on the back of the car? Sounds kind of extreme and that kind of takes away from the "plug and play" idea of having the Toyota specific harness from Dasaita. What you paid for should "just work" as advertised.
This might seem like a silly question and apologies in advance, but do the reverse lights turn on and off like they should? Of course, you know, if they do, the idea of running a wire from the positive lead on one of the reverse lights to the reverse signal wire on the back of the radio might be a possible workaround for your situation. I remember my 2010 Toyota Tacoma had a lead in one of the factory harnesses under the glove box area that I tapped to get reverse signal for an aftermarket radio.

Your CAN unit isn't working correctly. Replace or workaround with signal wire as @jlbooth has suggested.
If this is out of your area of expertise, a local electrical/electronic repairer might be best to work with.
You can get a reverse signal from your reverse light. Use that instead of the can bus signal and see what happens
Thanks to all. I have now picked up the signal from somewhere else. Now everything works.
My pleasure @chrisv4. Thank you for reporting back your success .
Hello to everyone.
I have the same problem like chrisv4. I have contacted Dasaita and told them my problem. They still going around a circle and obviously don't know what is the problem. I have Toyota CH-R 2018, led lights. When I am switching to reverse, the screen is switching to reverse camera, but after swithcing to neutral (for example), the camera doesn't want to turn off. If I disconnected the cable like member chrisv4, the screen switched, but after putting the wire together, the reverse camera screen is went back again. I dont know, where the problem is, because on some youtube video, the people don't have a problem with factory camera. It seem that the camera is not grounded or somethink like that.
Do you have some ideas what it could be?
Thank you so much for your suggestion. I am also waiting for Dasaita engineer satement.

Ciao a tutti.
Ho lo stesso problema di chrisv4. Ho contattato Dasaita e gli ho spiegato il mio problema. Stanno ancora girando in cerchio e ovviamente non sanno qual è il problema. Ho Toyota CH-R 2018, luci a led.

Hey,
sorry for late reply, but Dasaita "engineers" were not able to solve the problem. They sent me many Can bus adapters, but it did not solve the problem. I don't know where the problem is. They still talked me to cut the wire etc., change can bus etc. I am not mechanic, but I think that in the inner car software there must be something to change it.
