HTC Slide Casing - myTouch 3G Slide Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone been having problems with the casing after some use?
Mine has become creaky whenever you squeeze the phone. Especially at the chin
Would I be able to send my phone in for a warranty repair with that claim?
And being a hardware issue, do I have to unroot and revert to stock when I send it in?
I hate this plastic-y material the phone was made with. Makes it feel quite cheap.

Screen problem..send for RMA or try to fix myself? I got a bad feeling about ATT...

My screen has a light colored bar on one of the corners that I decided to ignore as it was not really visible with the phone one.....now it develop what some people call Newton Rings....and now it is even worst, it also has some dark colored blotch on one part of the screen...needless to say this refurb phone's screen has been deteriorating on me and I have it on its protective cover at all times, I got no kids, dont smoke or anything else that can damage it...heck , this is my baby.
Now, I have set up the RMA with ATT but I am afraid they will try somehow make this my fault and charge me $370!
So either I send the phone with a ton of explanations of this crappy screen or I just try to replace the LCD myself...
Any thoughts?
Thanks

If its under warranty just send it away. If you have a custom rom on it make sure your flash back to the original stock rom and respl the phone as well otherwise they'll nail you on that. Not that one has to do with the other. It's CLEARLY a hardware issue and a known one at that.
good luck
Yeah it is under warranty but the girl that took the call was really annoying and then was like, if it is determined to be your fault we cannot return the phone and you will be charge $370!

[Q] Solid hinge now broken?

Does anyone else have hinge problems even though when they first got the phone the hinge was solid? My hinge has been solid from day one. That is, until today. Now it seems to flop around like crazy. If so, how would I go about returning it for a replacement? Further, will the replacement be a new phone or a refurbished?

i called htc and they said they dont have the "parts" to repair it they dont send you a replacement we just have to wait for the "parts" i guess

refurbed evo

so i got a refurb through insurance it came with slight nicks on the plastic by the screen in a couple of spots and then on the bottom the screen doesnt meet the plastic so a bunch of dust and stuff gets down there u can easily put ur fingernail inbetween the space on the bottom but the rest fits good. what should i do
Best you can do is take it it back to a sprint store and explain you got it, from sprint as a refurb and you find it unacceptable. Hopefully they may trade it for a better one.
well i know i can get asurion to send me a new one if i tell them it was sent damaged cause there are nicks on the plastic as soon as i opened the box. like someone took a knife and jabbed at the plastic but its not super noticeable. just wondering if the screen is seperating and what others would do in this situation

Pretty much:
1. Take it and get another refurb
2. Live with it
3. Look online and get the parts for a new screen, chassis, ect.
Call Asurion and tell them that your replacement has cosmetic damage on it. They warranty it for 1 year. Sprint will not be able to replace it due to cosmetic issues.

Need your opinion on warranty exchange

Just got my phone 4 days ago, I must say that I am totally loving it! I will never buy a different phone apart from a Nexus again. The clean OS is very nice. Anyways, the phone's speaker has a weird subtle buzz/hiss whenever I talk to someone of the phone or when the phone is dialing. It's pretty faint, but I can definitely notice it. I was wondering if any of you guys have this, it makes the call quality sort of... weird? I don't know how to else to put it. I was wondering if any of you guys have this as well. Also, do you guys think it is worth going in for an exchange? I have the Best Buy insurance plan. One little thing too, I have a small piece of lint underneath my camera lens. I got so scared it was a scratch that I put on magnifying lens and checked it under light. It's definitely beneath the glass. My luck
I don't have this hissing sound. It might be a software problem, in which case, it can be fixed by flashing new ROM/Kernel. However, you shouldn't have to do that and coupled with the lint behind the camera lens, and the fact that you are under warranty/insurance, then definitely go and exchange it for a new one, and give the reasons. If they give you troube then tell them you want to return it and get a refund.
I don't know where you are, but in Europe, you don't even have to give a reason why you want to return the product, within a two week period.

[Q] Reshell and LCD replacement

I owned my HTC One M8 in December 2014. Well of course it has many scratch and bruises for a long time of use, and especially the one big crack on the screen(top to bottom) but it doesn't obstruct the view. No issues on any input and camera issues, no battery issues either. Just aesthetic issues.
My question is. Should I risk repairing the LCD and the battery cover/whole case of the device?
Here's the parts I'd buy:
LCD http://www.ebay.com/itm/for-htc-one...sembly-frame/321906636620?hash=item4af321774c
Cover http://www.ebay.com/itm/gray-batter...-one-m8-831c/201373055251?hash=item2ee2c4f913
I would also buy prying tools at the local store for about 6$
It's really hard to repair/replace parts in this phone.
You risk damaging something in it if you're inexperienced and/or don't know what you're exactly doing.
But if you feel you can manage it and got some backup phone in case it gets broken then you can try. I'd like to replace battery in mine, but honestly the complexity of it scares me a bit, even after I managed to fix my brother's iphone4.
Honestly as long as it works I wouldn't risk it.
