[Q] Maximum WiFi speed - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody,
perhaps a pretty stupid question, but I would appreciate your support. The maximum speed connection I can get with my DHD through WiFi is 64Mbps. Am I wrong or according to the IEEE 802.11n specification the maximum speed should be around 300Mbps? With my laptop I can transfer at very high speed, but with the DHD the transfer speeds are definitely slower...
Thanks!
Luca

I have 50mb broadband, and get around 25 mb/s dl speed on the speed test with my device

Well, Internet connection is not an issue, but if you want to move videos through wireless the speed is pretty bad... with the laptop speeds are hugely higher.

If I'm not wrong our phone radio does not support IEEE802.11n.

Well, that's not what they write on the HTC website
EDIT: hmmm, you mean the radio? Do you know if it exists a radio that supports that? Anyway on HTC website they say it should support the 802.11n. Moreover, I have setted the router for allowing only 802.11n connection, so at least it is compatible...

I'm using a wireless n router.
The phone can't even max out my download on a 8/1 Mbit/s dsl connection.

OK so if anyone elts is having this issue its probably because u have ur set Mobil limit turned off In data usage don't know why this makes a different but I was reading things and thought to try that and it worked I'm nit back to 1.5 downlad

Thanks for this i'm going to try it out in a second.
FYI I tried this, both on and off, no difference. My friends get decent data and voice in my house and I get almost nothing.
I'm seeing 3g download speeds around 30-60kbps, dialup speeds. Sweet! Tried both mobile data limit on and off.

All advertised/published WiFi speeds are theoretical, and possible under ideal conditions. 65 Mbps is far more than you need, unless of course you are on a WiFi network that has a back end that can supply more than 65Mbps.

I think you're on 2.4 WiFi n and not 5 GHz WiFi n which would give you the higher speeds.

I own a Netgear N900 router capable of 450mbps on both 2.4 and 5GHz bands. My Nexus also maxes out at 65mbps.
Because the gnex only have 1 antenna for WiFi. Need 2 for 150Mbps.
Beamed from my Grouper.

[Q] TPR connecting to wireless N problem

I recently moved to TPR to try and get better battery life. I had been on CM9. My phone will not connect to my 802.11n router(non 5 ghz frequency). However, it will connect to my 802.11g connection just fine. I had thought it connected to either one previously, but I could be wrong. It has been so long since I first set up my phone that I can't be remember. Is this expected, or did I find a bug? From looking, it seems the Epic should support N, just not the 5ghz version.
It does support n connections and both my Epics show it is connected as N. Did you try resetting your router? Had that problem with an old Netgear...tossed it for a Cisco and all good.

Thanks for the quick reply Kenny. I gave that a shot and no dice. It must be me. I can keep using my G connection. I've got the signal strength boosted a little on that guy anyway.
Do you have the router set to make 300 Mbs connections?

i haven't had time to flash my ASUS router to ddwrt yet. And I've not bothered digging through all of the limited settings yet, but I can take a peek. Not sure what all capabilities it has.

[Q] Speedtest

Just wondering? What's the max wifi speed our phone can get? I'm using a 150mbps internet plan, but the phone is only getting 22.80mbps based on Speedtest.net

[Q] Wifi Tether Cap

Hello,
I have been researching about this issue but I haven't found anything that clarify my hypothesis. I am using Samsung GN II from T-Mobile and using T-Mobile LTE network. In certain area, I can accomplish download speed 75 Mbps (I am using speedtest on my phone). While in that area, I decide to tether my phone to my laptop. My phone is rooted and using the stock ROM. I am using Wifi Tether for Root User app to tether.
Here is the problem.
When I tether it to my laptop, I notice the download speed max around 36 Mbps and I never be able to reach 40 Mbps at all.
Question.
Is the tether app not be able to handle the transfer rate faster than 36 Mbps? Some can clarify this?
Any answer would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Try FoxFi from Play Store and see if it works better.

Thank you
