Hello Guys,
I decided to try out a new benchmark called Smartbench 2010. However when i run it, it gives me pretty low scores - about 800/1100 which i find kinda funny cos for example G2 has 1100/1400. So i was wondering if anybody tried this app already on the DHD and what are the results. The system runs smooth so it is not a real issue, but im curious....
I got 900/1300
Stock ROM. Not rooted.
I was about to create the same thread until I found this one. I have a rooted DHD using custom rom: ARHD 2.0.14, OC 1,2ghz. These are my scores:
410/692
Tried with USB-debugging mode ON: 781/1151.
Could someone with knowledge let us know why we get low scores? The phone itself runs smoothly as mentioned in first post.
I would like to know this too.
I got 983/1434
Stock ROM
i got 1500/1941 got 1577/2251 at 1.51 ghz on cm7
Bumb
Anymore news on this?
I am also interested why the DHD gets such a low score compared to a G2, or the myTouch 4G which scores even higher and has the same chipset as our phone.
Probably only software issues, right?
Sorry for waking up an old topic.
1129/1620 on CM7 Nightly #31, 1.2GHz
Could be better huh
will post mine after i install CoreDroid HD GB 2.3.3 V4.8
i got 1113/1135
Stock Unlocked,Unbranded DHD
I tried several builds of CoreDroid, which had different drivers and kernels and the score is still quite low, as well as on the stock ROM... It would be great if anyone would post gingerbread scores even if its still leak...
just ran benchmark 2011 with coredroid 5.0 gingerbread rom got 955/1195 not to bad on standard kernal
i got 1453/1643 on 1.5ghz CM7 build #31
So we have results from 600 - 1500 . This means this benchmark is rubbish and tells us close to nothing about anything...
Get over it guys
^^ agreed!

So what kind of Numbers in Quandrant are people getting on CM6 RC1?
SetCPU ~ 600MHz
- JIT Compiler OFF: 406
- JIT Compiler ON: 475
im getting horrible numbers in cm6
but on a stock rom with custom kernel triple my scores on cm6
I am using Eugenes CM6 Rom and getting 867 on Quadrant.. what the heck is wrong with your phones? No SetCPU here.
I am running eugenes parting shot cm6 with dumfuqs kernel and setcpu at 768 and getting 9.1 on linpack and 1087 on quandrant!! The thing flies
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
Don't remember the exact number but it was 1000+. It was under Droid X in the results. Using Eugene's latest with the newest kernel.
ill try eugs and see whats diff. im using Genuine CM6...
sounds like microsoft.
I'm running:
Kernel - 2.6.29.6-cyanogenmod
08/18 Nightly build - Build FRF91
How on earth are you guys posting those Quadrant Numbers?! Am I mistaken, or is the kernel not part of the ROM when I flash it? What's Eug's CM6 kernel all about? He has his own modded CM6?

nevermind ... if I just do a little searching I'd know huh? lol Found it! Flashing now... will post new results shortly!!!
SCHWEET! I'm getting 884 now on Eug's CM6 ROM!!!!!!
That's rivaling what the stock 1st Gen 2.2 Droid's are running, my buddy has one who just got is OTA the other day, and posted right up next to the samsung galaxy s

If you guys read through the CM6 RC1 thread it explains why quadrant scores have decreased.
Damn good reason IMHO.

Why would someone want to read? It seems alot easier to just make a useless thread on something and clog up the development forum with crap like this. Check out my quadrant score (j\k)

ah... StageFright is disabled. interesting. I'll keep Eugene's CM6 with it enabled for now. I'll wait until all the OpenCore issues are resolved.

Well when I look at the main CM6 RC1 thread, my main purpose is to simply gather the ROM update info, not read several pages into it, and sift out all the people posting about their flashing problems. Had this info just been a simple note at the start of the thread, then maybe I wouldn't have asked this question. It was more of a POLL just to see what kind of numbers people were getting... it wasn't a "Why is my Quadrant score low?" thread. I wasn't even aware they were low until someone later posted a higher number.

If you think about this...kinda sad; Simply upon stock to stock comparison PLUS 2.2, our slides BETTER be rivaling 1st. gen Droids. MTS have more ram and a slightly faster stock processing speed (notice I didn't say faster stock "processor")
Cyanogen commented in the CM6 thread that it was because of a line in the build.prop that Quadrant scores were lower than before.
I know this is kind of unrelated but i got 432 on the ota, which is about the same as droid.
Is there a way to uncap the fps on the latest fresh rom. So far fresh is my favorite rom but the one thing that I'm missing about being on cm6 is the fps fix. So is there a fix?
I'm willing to switch the kernel if I have to as long as it's not going to cause any problems or anything.
Switch Kernal
Same here, once I switched to this kernal I couldn't live without my extra fps. I'm now using netarchy's kernal and it works fine without a problem.

Cool I was kinda wondering what kernal would work with this. I see alot of the CM6 guys using snap but I didn't know if that would work with mine.
How is netarchy with battery life compared to 3.2 kernel?
I flashed this onto my phone but my evo now is at 31.7fps using neocore on fresh 3.2. When I was on Cm6 I was getting around 47 so why is it that I've only uncapped my fps by 1 point?

It's not that it uncapped it by only one point, it's just that CM6 is quite a bit faster since it doesn't have Sense and the rest of the HTC stuff running in the background. Run an fps2d test and you should be getting around 55.
Don't quote me on this, but since the FPS fix is done in the Kernel flipz is not going to be doing this. His ROM's use the Stock Kernels it kind of sounds like he is not going to mess with them.
I believe I seen him say this or deny this on his personal webpage forums.
you are right flipz isnt currently doing this fix int he kernel since it is pretty much the stock kernel. You have 2 options KingxKernel and NetArchy kernel. I cant tll you for sure how battery life compares to 3.2 fresh but I have read both work with it. Both will give you unlocked FPS.
Snap kernel will not work with Fresh as Snap is for CM only currently.
all 3 to my knowledge (may have changed over the last fw days) are based on the foryo build not the new OTA that fresh is using. I would expect to see new updates coming in the near future to change this up (whenever HTC releases or source is leaked at least)
You start mixing and matching and you'll possibly run into issues.
3.2 has an UNRELEASED kernel from HTC.
Netarchy and the others with the FPS fix are using an OLDER kernel.
Do you want the new, or the old with the FPS fix?
As stated in all the other threads several times... When this UNRELEASED update from HTC goes PUBLIC and when the source code is available, then you will get FPS fix in it.
If you choose to use a rom with an unreleased kernel then put on an old kernel and run into issues, hope you keep your backups up to date.
I'm actually using Netarchy's newest CFS kernel with Fresh 3.2 and I haven't had a single problem. Battery life was the same as before, but I'm getting 55fps with a stdev of 2.3 in fps2d.

That's why I said possibly. Nobody has looked into the source code which doesn't seem to be available yet to really know all of what's changed. You may NOT run into issues, or you may hit just the right combination to cause issues. Nobody knows yet.
I, personally, need my phone on a day to day basis for business purposes and only "play" with it after hours. I take the slower, wait and see approach to see what's stable and fully working before I change things around.
I just hope this unreleased patch doesn't turn into the accidental PRE release of 2.2 where folks were in such a rush to have the latest that they ended up with a stale version and had to update again.
Have you guys checked the Fresh Updater, in it he has kernel choices... I was running kingz BFS#8 and it was lovely....you lose nothing and gain everything
Tired that 2 days ago.. #8 I had such bad fps. Encore of 18 and quadrant I have never seen such low numbers.. but not every phone is the same..
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I'm using kingz #8 as well with Fresh 3.2 and have FPS of 54-55 and quadrant scores of around 1600 (overclocked to 1.15)
anyone know a good kernal to use for overclocking along with redemptive revolution rom?
Thanks
Does the leaked HTC kernal that Lou built into 1.8 not fit your needs?
Sent from somewhere in NH.
is it overclockable?
Not yet. It's leaked, not official.
What do you gain by over clocking? This kernal charges faster and battery life is better. Others have posted results in the Redemptive thread.

nothing really, just impressive benchmarks. I just like pushing my phone past it's normal limits, even if i get no noticeable gain
Hey guys,
I've had my Desire rooted for about 2 months now, and I've tried many different ROMs. At first, as I'm sure many of you did, I installed Cyanogenmod, but I didn't like the simplistic interface. Then I decided to install experimental stuff, like the Gingerbread ones, but I soon found out that they were still too laggy and buggy to be considered as a standard ROM.
Now, I've decided to re-install Cyanogenmod 6.1.1 because people love it and it's super fast. The problem is that I don't see the speed that everyone's talking about! My Quadrant score is lower than the Nexus 2.2 score and I cannot understand why. I even installed DeFroST but the results are still the same. The phone is too laggy, much slower than the Stock ROM with HTC Sense (which was pretty damn fast in my opinion). Does anyone knows why this happens? Does this have to do with the ext partition on my 16gb memory card or something?
Thanks in advance,
Louis.
Just how the rom is built. To be honest, anything above the score or 1100 we won't really notice much difference at all. When I've used it, I really tested the balls off it and my CPU score was making the difference. There are subtle differences between roms but we can't notice it so it doesn't matter. Anyway, benchmarks arn't really reliable, just a rough estimate.
I've installed my first ROM even some days ago and I'm getting 1160 on Leedroid 2.3d with a class 4 sd card. Speed is noticeably faster compared to the stock rom, it really is.
Maybe you could try another sd card ?
Don't know if it could help, I'm all new into this too.

Do you fell laggy or slow? Quadrant doesn't show useful statistics... IMO Cyanogen is fast enough. But, if you want you can try MIUI, especially this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957291
It is really fast and battery saving
P.S.
If you want useful statistics use SmartBench from market, I have 877 and 1114.
SmartBench is better.
And for quadrant:
I have used a ROM which gave me extremly high scores (2200+), but in real life it was laggy and slow.
Now using a ROM which is around 1700, but is super-fast and no lags at all.
The problem is it does feel laggy and it's not a placebo effect because I didn't do the test and then thought that it felt laggy; it felt laggy so I ran the test for confirmation. Froyo 2.2 with Sense was much, much, much faster than a Vanilla CyanogenMod, and even though I never ran Quadrant on it I remember that it was much faster. That is simply not right. Maybe it takes some time for the ROM to "settle" or something?
Hi to all. I cant understand why with cm7 i got 2300pts and now with ms2ginger 1.0 i have just 1300. It is so huge difference and i want to know how much u can score with this rom... I like it because of 720p recording and i don't want to use miui or cm7 till they will have it too... :/
Quadrant isnt very reliable with roms like cm7 where they use a lot of optimization tweaks and JIT. Even though cm7 is faster than most roms it certainly isnt twice as fast like quadrant indicates. Please dont go by a single benchmark score
Yea i know, but it is still amazing how CM7 is optimized just to show good score at quadrant... So sad...
