Hey everyone!
I have, what i hope to be, an easily solvable issue.
I am studying abroad and my school gave me a free nokia crap phone which is great for making phone calls. I also happened to bring with me my G2 (unlocked) and have a seperate plan with just data, I just carry these two phones around and the system has pretty much worked fine for me.
However, I realized today that I coud forward the incoming calls from my crap phone to my G2. I like this because since I have a nice phone I kinda wanna use it! I only have one issue, outgoing calls. If I could set up outgoing call forwarding to my crap phone, I could just leave it in my room and just carry around the G2.
TLDR, is it possible to make calls through the G2 and have it routed through my other phone number?

Are you rooted? If you are and your running on CM Roms there's an option for call forwarding, i never checked on stock and different roms so don't ask me
Fly like a G2
Not possible. Take a look at GOOGLE VOICE, may be able to help.
Yeah, definitely sounds like a Google Voice thing, and a fun problem to solve really.
Gvoice won't work because it only works with american numbers but I'm in israel.

doesn't the nokia have a sim? take the sim out and put it in your g2!
Problem is that I use a data sim in my G2...switching the 2 sims constantly would be more annoying than carrying two phones.

I am having the same problem, I am looking to forward outgoing calls to my nice phone.
Did you figure a way to do it?
- Either by programmatically create conference calls?
- Or by having the calls forwarded?
Thanks, Jonathan

Hi All! (pohe = phone)
I have a strange "problem": sometimes when I receive a call, I hear the caller's voice before I pick up the phone. I hear that she or he is breathing, speaks to somebody, etc. Same thing as in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5W0OWDPhn0
How is it? Do You know something about it?
Now I use LeeDroid 2.2, but the same thing happened with the stock ROM, so I don't think it's ROM-related...but who knows...
Thanks!
There is a similar thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745969
But without a solution.

I've narrowed this down in my case to it being an issue with receiving calls from the AT&T mobile network. All the calls I've received that do this are from AT&T users or Net 10 users (which are using the AT&T network). No issues with calls from other Sprint users, Verizon, etc. As of now, Sprint hasn't been able to offer a fix.

So it might be an issue with the carrier not the phone or rom, maybe the sim, don't know.
Thanks for Your answer, I'll check this tread.

Sounds like network trouble. Call sprint.

Sir i cant call anybody from my phone, not even sprint customer care. its not a network issue, something worong with the phone, just not able to diagnose whats the problem
Why do you think its not network trouble? You can't make calls after factory resets. Battery running out quickly. Sounds like your phone can't find a signal that's why the battery running out so fast. Its just sounds like a network issue.

I was able to use calls for say aroung 10days with data, text & 3G running all well
suddenly yesterday evening it stopped working, can it be a radio issue or something else like a hardware problem
Or a network problem? Radios don't just die. Or is the bill paid? What carrier are you on?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
I am using it for Reliance
my bill is paid
Since the phone is my main no, i have transfered it to other mobile & its working fine.
but the phone is not responding at all when we make calls, its on the dailing screen only & calls doest mature, even when we dial *228 for activation its same only
Sounds like the carrier blacklisted your esn.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
No sir same esn has been tested on other phone and its working
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Whoa, whoa, whoa... You're using a cloned ESN?
No
esn is registered with the operator.
Just for testing I had done to check
As my 1st doubt was that esn being blacklisted
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
nope you used it on another phone the esn and the cell company found out black listed your evo so your esn and your evo is done. now go buy a new evo and stop trying to use a clone phone!! or keep doing what your doing and see if you don't get sent to jail.
Sir i am not using a cloned handset at all,
I had done that just for testing & to get my self confirmed that my esn is not blacklisted.
i have never used a cloned one as our operator is easliy getting it registred on its network, so its not required to clone, u people are thinking it other way, but thats not the case,
phone is showing signals but calling is not getting matured, its a steange problem.
i strongly feel something wrong in handset but not able to get whats wrong
hmmmm
I'm having the same issue and my phone is with sprint...just yesterday it stop working for no reason at all...but i have full signal and 3g....

Call sprint from a landline or a another phone either your using a cloned phone which is a NO NO or your ESN is blacklisted which means the phone is either reported stolen or lost.
You need to call them and get it sorted out if you can not call them your SOL hope you get it fixed.
Hey everyone,
Used the guide about 3 months ago to root/debrand/etc my G2 from T-Mobile, flashed CM7 (not sure the version - was a while ago).
Anywho, wife broke her iPhone so I brought her over to the green side by setting her up on the rooted G2. Her carrier is ATT. At first everything worked except voicemail, but a call to ATT fixed that by changing some iPhone settings.
The problem that she's had the past few weeks is that about 30% of her incoming calls ring twice, and give a busy tone. It is not fully random, it is always the same phone numbers that do not go through (mine being one of them). The other calls go through no problem.
I have not flashed any radios to the phone, and to my knowledge she has not changed any type of settings or blacklisted me & others. Thanks for your help, its annoying to have to text "call me" as the only way through.
Sorry to bump, just wondering if anyone has any ideas on this one?
Thanks in advance
only thing i can think of is the number has somehow been blacklisted, are you 100% sure numbers havent been accidently blacklisted on your or her phone? if it only happens with certain numbers then it has to be a blocking issue
Sent from a htc desire z
I'll double check when home from work. It wouldn't be a radio issue? If it comes down to it, do you think a wipe and install of latest CM will fix it?
very much doubt it is rom/radio related as it only happens with certain numbers, if after checking that nothing has been blacklisted then you could try a full wipe reinstall, doubt a cache wipe would help, i am fairly certain that some numbers have been accidently blacklisted though

Att might have messed up somthing. What did they change to get voicemail working? I would recomend using googlevoice if your not already. Also check too see if you have any numbers forwarded to the old voicemail. Your wife may have had custom settings for a few people? I've never owned an iphone so im not sure of the options. All forwarded calls get handled by att so changing roms wont fix it. However your phone can add/change blocklists and forward numbers. Good luck!

You guys are good! Just got a hold of her and she gave a big "oooops!" when she saw me and her mom were blacklisted. Actually, seeing as how it was just us 2 I bet it was purposeful ;P
As far as att and iphone goes, they have special backend services to handle iphone voicemails etc. She's still on the iphone data as its cheaper but on a regular voicemail setup. She's limited to 2g speeds but I heard that's due to the bandwidth used by att and on the G2?

Yea G2 doesnt support att 3g bands. Edge worked fine for me on my g1 with att. Plenty fast for maps/gps and limited web browsing, plus when are you not in range of wifi?

Hi all,
is there really no way to use the A101 as a phone? (with the SIM! - not Skype etc)
I'm wondering why other tablets (Odys, Galaxy Tab) are able to do so
You could use text+ from the market.I tried it before and worked pretty good to turn this to a phone tablet.but wwsnt sure how I would eventually need to start spending money.but tot turn it into a phone, try that app.

don't know if you understand me
I need to make and take calls with the tablet - SMS and UMTS is working, but there's no way to make or take calls
I wasn't able to find a app called text+ / plus in the market
No. The A501/A101 doesn't have the hardware for making calls.

The closest you can get that I am aware of would be to use either Skype, or Google Voice GrooveIP combo which could be used over the access provided by the SIM and associated provider, however it would still be VOIP and not the type of phone you speak of, BUT it would allow you to send and receive normal phone calls from/to real phones/mobile phones. SO I don't see any reason to care. GrooveIP is like $6 and then the google voice number is free. don't knock it lol
I used text+.
It worked as a phone.
I understood, don't know if its still on the market, but it works as a phone for your tablet.its not like Skype.
It makes your tablet a phone, and it gives you a real phone number.
Understood!

I bought the HTC stereoclip for my s3 and it works great using the aptx media. The problem is it does not work with phone calls. So I got the idea to use my groove IP the make voip calls to fix this problem. It works when the phone is ringing but as soon as the person answers the sound no longer goes through the stereoclip. Is there any way to fix this? Get calls to work? I thought making my calls through voip would take care of this.
I'm disappointed that HTC would make such a good device and not have it work with phone calls. This kind of ruins it.
