Hi guys. I'm trying to flash recovery.img to get rid of Clockword mod.
I have put Fastboot.exe and Recovery.img in C:\Fastboot
I ran the "cd c:\fastboot" and then "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img".
However, first I got that there was missing "AdbWinUsbApi.dll". I downloaded that and put in the the folder but then I get:
"FAILED : <Remote: Signature Verify Fail>
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks.

Hi first verify that md5 sum matches. Then i would suggest you to download the recovery img again.
Use the package from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896597 to flash the recovery img.
This is actually to flash a radio but works for anything. You just have to replace the "radio" with what you want to flash and remember to put the .img file in the same folder. I used this package to flash splash screen.
I'm not sure how to verify the MD5.
By the way, do I need ENG S-OFF and Radio S-OFF to flash recovery.img?
Is there any way to do this without Eng and radio S-off?
Ok almost done the above.
How do I know if Clockwork Mod is gone? I guess the red triangle when I click on recovery means its gone?

Why donĀ“t you try flashing stock ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824357 and see if that helps. This is supposed to bring your phone back to original setting (like how it was when it was purchased)

Try to wipe the dalvik and partition in recovery. Then flash. Is it a zip file? Attached it if you can.
The EVO you wish you had
no its done with fastboot commands in fastboot mode..
it cant be flashed.. and i tried that.. i hate how 48 people have read this and only you replied. thanks though i appreciate the effort!
Possible your hboot doesn't support these fastboot commands?
Once again....if you aren't using the .76 ENG Hboot, you can't use fastboot commands.
its .93.0000 < hboot version

The engineering bootloader is the only one that can do it that way. to flash over usb with a prod hboot you have to put it in ruu mode and flash it as a pc36img

give me a couple of minutes to make one up.
take your time i really appreciate it!
by the way is there any tutorial on how to do this? i mean to do what you are doing for me..
Yes but i dont remember where. do know that you need nbimg-1.1win32(i can send that to you if you want it)to turn files into img(for flashing), 7zip for making the zips and you need to turn all pics into 480x800 bmp. heres what you asked for you have to rename it to PC36IMG( has to be just as you see. just delete (BADAPPLE). as i said before put on sdcard (delete any other file that has that name on card, power down phone, press and hold power and volume down, (let it work it will find the file) it will ask for update press volume up then press it again when asked to reboot and there you go.
i think you have to flash it with fastboot? thats always the way i have done it and thats why i think it doesn't change with different ROM/theme's etc, could be wrong

Fastboot reboot

I am getting a lot of errors about update script when flashing themes like Matted blues. The themes say they are compatible with CM7 but it seems my recovery is not compatible with the theme I am using ClockWorkMod version 3.0.0.5 what recovery version can I use that is compatible with CM7 and the themes in question?
Thanks
If this has been asked and answered I did try searching...
you can use version 2.6.0.1, the last one with Amend support and also WiMax backup (I've attached it to the post)
EDIT: I only had the img version to flash via Fastboot, hope it helps!
Here, I fixed the file. I looked at it and was missing the txt file. Rename it to PC36IMG [don't change the extension as its already a zip file] and then boot into the bootloader, accept and restart and it'll flash the recovery for you.
Yes, Thanks!
I am still S-ON but I think I am able to flash this version with Rom Manager. If not it gives me a reason to go S-OFF, LOL

Flashing that version in ROM Manager because the older recoveries listed weren't meant for the Evo, so you'll get an error or it won't flash at all.

I also renamed the recovery to recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
error: can not load "recovery.img"
fastboot flash recovery \sdcard\recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
they all return the error can not load recovery.img

I have a small problem to get to the Recovery, every time I try to get the Recovery mode, it keeps getting an error, I want to upgrade it to android 4.0 for HTC Desire, and I have Android 2.3 on it now.
Could anyone please help me.

Get s-off and flash custom recovery (4ext)
In short. You don't have recovery, it's not an error.
Guys I have a similar problem (i think), I bought this used. I have an s-off boot screen with the Joker on it and have clockworkmod 5.02.. recovery plus a .90 Hboot on. It was on cm7 or sth and when ive tried flashing ics sense and supernova, Im stuck on that screen.
I've to take off my battery then insert it back to go to recovery. Volume down+power aint working for me, looks like the whole (-) button is messed up.
Kindly point me in the right direction. Thanks

Usually from the recovery-thread.
But if you want to flash 4EXT-recovery, you do not need an img-file. Just download the 4EXT Recovery from thread (free) or from Play Store (paid, for donation), start the app and follow instructions.

After downloading the fastboot-files, you can extract them and then start CMD in Windows, switch to the extracted folder and you can run ADB / Fastboot just fine [at least for Windows, for Linux / Mac it's a little more complicated (see the guide jn my sig)]. So it's not really a "stand-alone"-program.

You need to flash a new recovery I think,
I think touch is supported with TWRP 2.5 or 2.6, or philz touch recovery.
I believe that if you flash the new TWRP over the old one, your backups are safe and touch is restored.

Are you sure that after you flashed the recovery you did:

Hi everyone. I bought this Find 7 today in hopes that I could get it running. The previous owner apparently went to flash cm11 and he soft bricked it. The phone will power on to the start screen the the screen stays black and goes on and off. I can get to fastboot but not recovery. I have read in the oppo forums that I need to push the stock recovery too it but am unfamiliar with fastboot.. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I got it to boot up following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/find-7/help/bricked-7-t2897376. Then I went to wipe it and I'm back where I started. The Msm Downloader is japanese so I don't understand what half of it means. Must have been a fluke it booted up.
I got it to boot up again. I'm not sure what I should do with it next. There is no recovery installed.
If you can get to fastboot, download a recovery, navigate to that recovery, use
fastboot flash recovery x.img
Where x is the name of the file. Hold down power and volume down until phone vibrates, and you should be in recovery

Yes I do. But I don't have time until 1 and half hour later
You can place the .img file anywhere you want, but you just have to specify the path and name of the recovery image on the fastboot flash command. For example: fastboot flash recovery C:\openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-find7.img (this is if you put the recovery image in the root directory of C drive)
