Follow the instructions in the tread, and instead of selecting the first option, select SimUnlock.

Ive rooted my phone and done the radio-S-OFF as also installed a cooked rom. My question is, do I need to have ENG-S-OFF or not ?
What can you do with ENG-S-OFF that you cannot do with SHIP-S-OFF ?
It allows you to flash partitions with fastboot.

The opposite, he wants ENG S-OFF.
ENG SPL or ENG S-off is the same as radio s-off, there is not extra functionality, infact on the classic desire we can modify the partition table with just bootloader s-off

You are mistaken. ENG S-OFF is not Radio S-OFF. Both provide S-OFF, but only ENG S-OFF will allow remote fastboot flashing.

You can, but only with the ENG hboot. The problem is that if anything goes wrong when flashing hboot, you have a brick (unless you manage to reflash it successfully before rebooting).

yeah i understand that, but on the other hand its safer to flash a radio from fastboot rather than recovery isnt it? so its a double edged sword

you probably will when GB is released for the DHD, the eclair radio's didnt work well with froyo when that was released on the desire...... i'm going to stick with the radio s-off for now anyway, thanks for clarifying the diffence tho .... i feel like a noob again
Do I just flash it like a rom?
No, you shouldn't attempt that.
Radios need to be flashed via fastboot from command prompt
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.img

You do S-OFF first and then ENG-off. Eng-off is needed to be able to flash radios. Good luck!

Yes! First you will need to make your SD card a "Goldcard". There is a link in my signature that is a guide for many Marvelc-related things. One is S-OFF.
Once you have a goldcard, put the PG76DIAG files (they're linked to in my guide) on the root of your SD, follow the steps, any you'll be S-OFF.
By the way, S-OFF is one step beyond Bootloader Unlock. (You may have known that, but I'd like to offer the information.)

AAHK has already retired. If you take a look at second post (Sticky post) in in this general section, you can see the thread entitled "[How to] ROOT without the Hack Kit".
However, this tools will not provide s-off to you. Only give you privilege to run root and install custom ROM.
You are tech people? Able to reverse-engineered windows files in a few hours? Then this is ADVANCE method to achieve s-off > http://tau.shadowchild.nl/attn1/?p=411

Like I sa.. Well, maybe you have not read my entire reply.
How to root without ace hack kit > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168500
AAHK will not working because the tools is automated to download certain files after it query your phone version info in order to downgrade it accordingly. And these files have already taken down from the server.
Please read the thread carefully in order to understand what the tools is supposed to be doing before run it. :good:

It needs Internet, but more than that, it downloads files from a server that is no longer up. Unlock the bootloader; it's the only easy way right now to get root and recovery, but you won't get S-Off. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168500
EDIT: yumm won.

You can use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2169515
Is almost "easy" to follow and you will have your phone rooted.
It is not possible to install a recovery from gg play. You can use another app instead, but your phone must to be rooted before.
The most easy way to install a recovery image is using flashboot, anyway the tool I give you before flash the recovery for you

Hi All,
I am now on Android 7.0 and my htc 10's motherboard is not working.
Previously, I have unlocked the bootloader and therefore, before I go to the repair center, i have to lock my bootloader back.
I know i can S-OFF it with sunshine, what should i do after S-OFF?
Thanks a lot!!!
I guess my htc 10 should have LOCKED status for bootloader and also S-ON in order to have the warranty.
Would any of you please help?

No I mean after using sunshine with the s-off/Locked option, you need to do s-on manually. This will set you s-on with your bootloader locked.
The s-on procedure is described here:

You could end up with a brick.
Ruu before setting to s-on is the best method.
