Android Creative Syndicate- From spontaneous ingenuity, comes creative brilliance
I'm trying to figure out exactly how to get in on the ROM itself?
Do you have the apk downloaded. If do all you have to do is delete the touchwizlauncher.apk using sdx app remover. Then using root explorer install the gtg launcher in system app

Even easier, just go in to rootexplorer and do it all there. Copy the new file (via rootexplorer-copy), then go to /system/app. Rename or delete the old file (and odex, if present), then click paste to put the copied file there.
Back out of rootexplorer and go to setting/applications/manage/running (or all) and stop/clear data for com.sec.android.app.twlauncher (if you don't you sometimes end up with an 'app drawer' instead until you do that)
Thanks one more question are you aware if it works with bonsai 2.0.1

There's no reason it shouldn't.

I am having trouble installing this file.
I used Astro Manager to delete the old launcher and paste in the new one. After doing this, there was no running touchwiz service to "force close" or wipe data from. In running services I do have "Launcher" but forcing and iping it did nothing... have what appears to be the original launcher now.
Any ideas?

I need some help into cooking Launcher Pro Plus into CM6. I bought and installed it to my current CM6 test5 from koush and it runs really, really good. Best one yet. I understand that it works great, as is, but I'd like to cook it in and take ADW Launcher out.
I know I would need to do much more than just switching out apk's. What other files would I have to modify for cooking it in?
Would it be much easier for me to push, pull, and modify a few files from my current ROM?
I just want it installed as my main launcher in system. The PLUS version is a paid app so I'm sure I won't be the only one asking how to do this.
7 zip works.

Wouldnt it be as easy as deleting ADW and the just pushing Launcher Pro to /system/
Don't really think you need to do anything else.

Heh. Well that's what i'm trying to find out. I thought I would have to modify more files to instruct the install process or 2.2 to look for Launcher Pro Plus, instead of ADW.
I'm a noob so I don't know.

Ok. Thanks. Didn't think it would be that simple. I'll pull the ADW apk from test5 zip and replace with LauncherPro Plus apk.
**UPDATE** Worked! easy.

You can have multiple launchers on your phone. If you put LauncherPro and others on your phone. If you have more then one installed at first it will ask you when your first boot your phone to select which one you want to run. It also has an option to set as default, meaning that is the default launcher that will always go to. If you don't set a default, every time you press the home key it will ask you which launcher to run. If you set a default and later want to change it to another launcher, go to settings>applications>choose the current default launcher and select clear defaults. Then it will go back to asking what you want to launch when you press the home key and you can choose a new default.
homeswitcher is an app in the market that lets u manage your launchers...very easy, great app!

Why not just remove ADW through root and reinstall LauncherProPlus from Titanium Backup? Provided you already have a version saved on there?
So... you're going to put one of t
he few paid apps that deserves a couple if bucks in a publicly available download?
Edit: nevermind, my noobness didn't read the post more carefully. My apologies.

Hello all. I've been lurking on the forum for a bit over a month now while trying to learn as much as i could about android and the epic4g. It's my first android phone and first experience with android.
That being said, i have had experience with ios devices (i own an ipod touch 4g and ipad2) and jailbroken apps like folderenhancer, and prior to going to android i've exclusively owned symbian devices.
For specs, I'm currently running LauncherPro Plus as my launcher on the genocide 2.0 kernel with the Syndicate Rom Frozen v1.2 rom, rooted of course.
What i'm wondering though, is if there is some way to create folders and nest folders to better organize all of the applications i have on the epic. I've played around with Folder Organizer, and it seems okay, but it's not the most intuitive software, especially when you start nesting folders by using their labels.
I would preferably like it within the launcher, so that when i hit the application button (or whatever it is called, the button that pulls up the list of all installed apps), i could then click on my custom folders and quickly find what app i want. Having to flick and scroll through all my apps alphabetically isn't the most efficient method of organization (IMO).
Thank you!
I'm not sure about launcher pro, I used it for a few days but I like the Anarchy Launcher that came with the TrInItY rom when I was running DK28 so I've just always used that . You should, however, just be able to long press and make/ set a folder on whatever screen you are on and then open up your app drawer and find the app you want and long press on it and drop it in the folder you made. Don't know if that will help you accomplish what you wanted to do but that's what I did to group apps for easy access...

Tw4 meaning touchwiz? I haven't looked into that, but i will, thanks. Go Launcher i have seen before, and that was what i was going to try, based on how many themes and things were available for it.

Go Launcher EX does the folder organizing you want very well. You can even create folders in the app drawer and create shortcuts to each folder on the Home screen, etc.

I agree and use GO in this manner as well. And when u open app drawer and move apps in folders, if that folder also has a shortcut to homescreen it will have the new added app as well. I had launcher pro come on my rom as well but removed it for GO instead bc I like the folder setup way better

Howdy all! I searched at home last night and again this morning on my phone but have been unable to find help on my particular issue.
I just flashed randomrom hawk and randomking replaced the stock clock app (with the gentle wakeup options that I need to prevent a heart attack every morning) with the desk clock app.
I've tried two methods but to no avail:
1. Using root explorer I copied the stock app into /system/app and modified the permissions to match the rest of the folder (rw-r--r-- I think, anyway it matches), then rebooting
2. I added the apk directly to the zip file and reflashed (checking with root explorer, permissions still match
In both cases, all of the functions work EXCEPT creating an alarm (timer, etc are fine) which causes an immediate force close.
Does it have to do with randomrom being deodexed and the app is from a stock rom? Any help would be greatly apprciated!

Yep, that fixed it. The clock apk I'd found must have been from froyo.
It never crossed my mind that the stock apps would change between versions but obviously it makes sense.
Thanks gt!

U have to use root explore and push it to system/app. If the rom you're on has the stock touchwiz launcher u have to delete that one first.

Ill try to push but its not a tw launcher. Its a standard launcher but the internet has been replaced with messaging.
I wanted to know if there is a way to install the samsung touchwiz to replace ADW in roms?

Right now I'm running CleanGB 1.1.2 w/FB15 modem.

i was messing around with ice cream touchwiz (on the epic touch) and noticed it gives lets you create folders inside the app drawer! if so, that is all i've been waiting for. I LOVEEEE Go launcher, but would want to try touchwiz if someone can confirm the folders in app drawer in our release!!

Pretty sure there are several launchers including the default one on CM9 that allow folders on the homescreen. On CM9 if you drop an app on another app it creates a folder.
