I am running ihtfp69's newest release in that of athena 1.2, and I am looking for a good kernel to match with the rom.
I saw someone in the athena thread posted something about a ziggy kernel, but I've yet to find the appropriate thread to actually download it.

Go to Ziggy's website to download it. Search ziggy471 on Google...
(Sorry, haven't posted enough to be able to post links ><)

I believe that's the link your looking for.

I think that ziggy #8 said it didn't have multitouch support. Don't I need that?

I'm pretty sure you get 2 point multitouch which is what stock has instead of the full 10 or whatever
It's all about your personal preference. Everyone has their own "favorite" kernel. Just try out the different ones and use what one you feel works best for you.

There's an entire section dedicated to Q&A.
EDIT: And just like that it got moved.
Check out the kernel comparison thread in the General section.
Thread moved to Q&A.
I am personally using Kings #9. However, I am using myn's and performance will vary from rom to rom. Your best bet is to either read up in Fresh's thread or try the different kernels yourself and see which one performs better.

unlike others', ziggy's kernels are universal i.e. they work on both sense and aosp roms - i have been running them on all my roms except cm7. ziggy has not yet made a gb kernel.

If I flash one of his kernels, do I need to wipe/reformat my SD card? I'm running MIUI, so I'm curious what I need to do and if there's any special instructions to follow. Currently, I'm running Tiamat's 2.1.5.

All you need to do is wipe dalvik and cache. Nothing else required

What about running SetCPU with an screen off profile, is it recommended with Ziggy's Kernals?

Can if you want, but if all you're going to do is set a screen off profile there's no need. His kernels are amazing for overclocking though.

Not only are they awesome for OCing but running a mild OC (1 notch above standard), with the min set to 128 I'm getting better battery life then the ever popular Lou's #8. YMMV
I'll try out the new ones here soon, I"m running the one form 1/22 I think.
Ziggys kernels never worked well on my DINC, but these latest ones are SWEET. Noticeably snappier than Lous #8.
what's the latest smooth n sexy rom, i can't tell if i have the latest or if a newer version came out.

There really are a lot of good ones. I'm using Miui with godmode kernel at the moment and loving it. Not the most stable Rom out, but it's getting better, especially with the new update .24. Customizing your phone is super easy with the theme manager built in. I also like MikG, Cm7, Gingerbread and Myns

This would absolutely be a question that should be asked in the thread for this rom. Not only should it go in that thread anyway, but if you actually read the first post for that thread, I guarantee you the latest version is listed there, no need to ask.

OP....here's the link to the thread: [ROM](6-26-11) SNS Gingerbread v1.2, OTA 4.24 Sense, Actually looks like gingerbread! - xda-developers
unfortunately i am not able to reply to that thread, and also it says v 1.2 for that rom, but on the updated rom that i have it's v 1.4, hence the confusion.
you're using the froyo version....the link i gave is the Gingerbread version. use that one..its up to 1.3 now
The latest stable cyanogen m7 rom runs great on my evo, no issues.
Lately, the word sexy is becoming an annoyance to me when used to describe anything that doesn't have half naked girls in it....

Ok, thanks for contributing nothing to this thread, since it's about Smooth and Sexy, NOT cm7
Ok so I just downloaded synergy rc1 and works great on my EVO runs very smooth .
But my question is what kernels are there that can give me decent battery life.
I downloaded piggy havs more sbc kernel and everythingwas fine but I got the white screen on my cam
So anyone out there no what would be best or if what kernelsyour running if if on synergy

Best you use the stock kernel for now since HTC didn't release the source code from their latest ota update. Once the code is released they will release custom kernels for the sense roms.

Read up on and try each one and see what other people are saying till you find the one that your phone likes
I agree with penny. You have to try them out yourself.
I'd recommend sticking with the default MikG 3.1 kernel (which is the latest HTC kernel) for a couple weeks so you get used to it. Then jump to lionfish and see if you notice a difference in battery life and responsiveness. Personally I don't notice a difference in those areas, but others have been wowed by the latest HTC kernel. Some people say it takes a couple days for a ROM / kernel combo to "settle in." Your phone will have to rebuild the cache and dalvik, and it does that over time as you do different things on your phone.
Lionfish is not based on the latest HTC kernel since they haven't released the open source yet, but it has other features of course, like HDMI mirroring.
Thanks guy ill check them out
